Keppra generic name

Common Questions and Answers about Keppra generic name

keppra

I am trying to decide whether to take the generic Keppra, or the generic Keppra XR or name brand for either due to seizures caused from the removal of a brain tumor. My doctor is good with all of the above and isn't providing much insight...
Very occasionally there is a slight bio-availability difference between brands, but Keppra is not one of the medications we are usually concerned about. From your history it seems definite that the change of brand did cause your seizures to start again.
He was put on keppra and had about 3 seizures the first year and then I fought for name brand instead of generic. When he started name brand he was seizure free for 15 months. I was so thankful then out of nowhere he had 2 grand mals in less than a week. His dr.increased his keppra to the max of 3000 mg. A day. He also gave me the choice of adding depakote we but said the increase in the keppra would take about 2 wks. To reach max .
Last Sunday I was going about my day, then next thing I remember I woke up in an ambulance. I was informed by the paramedics that my roommate found me on the floor having a seizure and making weird noises. They said I was "in a daze" and barely speaking but could give them my name but did not know what day or month it was. I do not remember any of this. At the hospital I was in and out of consciousness/asleep but do not remember hours of time.
My daughter is still on Keppra - she lost her benefits for a short while and is set to lose them again. We found Costco has a great deal on generic Keppra - and we were assured by her neurologist that the generic works just as well as the real deal however her headaches increased. Back with Kaiser and Keppra - until end of year. No seizures for a few years now but she will remain on Keppra forever. She has lost some weight, is getting regular exercise but still has stress like the rest of us.
Another med you could try in the same family that not a lot of doctors know about is called Keppra. It's another anti-seizure medication. My Rheumatologist is very involved in the Fibro world and conducts a lot of the drug trials. She seems to be up on all of the new treatments. Keppra is used off label. I've never tried it, but it's supposed to be very effective for pain and very easy on the system. This is a medication they prescribe to pediatric epileptics- that's how safe it is.
Until I see her in January, I've been taking Flexaril when I have a spasm. I take keppra for the myoclonus. Looking at the information on sensory nerves, spasticity, and the motor nerves, I have to wonder how the myoclonus and the spasticity work together. I had myoclonus (before keppra) in the morning, and I'd set it off in bed just by trying to move. If I stretched at all, it would cause my calf to spasm. It also helps the back twists and the palatal myoclonus.
I WAS TAKEN OFF OF ZOLOFT AND XANAX WITHOUT A TAPER AND STARTED ON PAROXETINE (GENERIC PAXIL) SIX WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS. DID YOUR DAUGHTER HAVE ANY MEDICATION CHANGES OR IMMUNIZATIONS BEFORE THE ONSET? THE ABNORMALITIES ON MY MRI SCAN WERE WHERE THE MAIN VISION CENTER IN THE BRAIN IS AND AS A RESULT I HAVE A VISUAL FIELD DEFECT, WHICH HAS IMPROVED OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS BUT IS STILL NOT GONE.
My name is Darlene and I am 36. I first had my first Seizure in my WHOLE LIFE 3 years ago January 2006. But Just like you I have been taking Prozac for the past 10 years. I was curious how long have you been on Prozac? The reason I want to know is because Not one of my doctors and/or medications for Seizures that I have tried have stopped my Seizures. I usually get them right before my period and/or right after my period.
Many of us have tried multiple preventative medications before finding the right preventative medication that worked for us. The Elatrolet you are taking is a preventative medication, it's generic name is Amitriptyline.
To: marileewI tried verapamil, but it didn't work for a migraine preventative for me. I also tried Diltia XT.
Mmhon I think I just maxed out at the highest dosage and I get the generic brand I hear alot about some companies making them sugar pills?? Has anyone heard that? I lost my job a year ago that I was at for 10 years and have been on unemployment since barely making it my insurance ends next week. I know this has alot to do with my anxiety.
He gave me Topomax and Keppra for epilepsy and some medicine for the pain. When I got back to USA I went to the clinic for my MRI results. The Dr. told me my results came back normal. He told me to not take any more of the medicine I was given in Mexico because I do not have epilepsy. He said this medicine was not necessary and it could ruin my digestive system. He sent me to have a urine test and I had a minor infection. He gave me pills for that. He also gave me floxentine pills.
then look for her name. Piece of cake! Now if I can remember each step and her name and what the he** I am looking for......you know how that goes! My brainis MUSH I tell you.
and more recently for my Fibromyalsia). He increased it from 100mg to 150mg. The name of the drug is Trofranil (generic is Imipramine). I must say I've had 2 days of clarity in the last week and I believe that I'm going to have another great day today. Not episode free but the episodes are different they aren't as deep as they used to be. I also don't feel like I'm on the edge of an episode. Since February I haven't been able to drive. Even on my "good days" I couldn't do it.
I have lost my appetite, but I also feel groggy sometimes, and I have noticed the brain fog, like not being able to remember the name of a very familiar place or what I ate for dinner the night before. I have not noticed any hair loss yet. I started watching my weight and eating better about 2 months before I started on Topamax, so I can't say that it has caused any significant weight loss.
My name is Lianne and I am 18 years old. I have suffered from migranes for years, and couln't find the source. I was put on depakote, but it made me sleep all the time (literally) so my doctor put me on topamax. I haven't had any migranes, I'm not dreadfully tired and as an added bonus, it is already helping me to lose weight. I have struggled with weight all of my life, so knowing that this can help is wonderful. I eat smart and exercise, but before, I slept all the time.
This new doctor that I was switched to decided to take me off the Zoloft and xanax and switch it to paroxetine (generic paxil ) as he thought that it would take care of my panic attacks better. He did this switch without a taper. six weeks after this change is when this attack happened. After the numb eyes I had flashing fickering lights, blurred vision, and then in a week dimmed vision, almost black and white.

5/18/05. Could anyone tell me if your love one didn't know who you were or called you by another name? How long was it before you saw any type of improvement. My dad has had his first speech & physical therapy today, he can walk, he was able to put on the socks the therapist gave him, put on some scrubs and tie them in a regular bow tie, he has been sipping water through a straw and ate some vanilla cookies today. We know his right eye was affected, how much we're not sure.
