I have spasticity in my jaw on the right side, which causes muscle tension and soreness. I went through three months when it hurt to chew on that side, and it seemed oddly fatigued. I also have spasms in the muscle leading down from the jaw into my neck.
Alaprise, are you on any sort of muscle relaxer? I take Baclofen 60 mg per day, which keeps much of that in check.

I went for cleaning and full mouth x ray and had no problem at all. Dentist said that there is one molar which was not properly filled, it was filled above another filling , so he will clean up that and fill it again and put the crown. But I didn't feel any pain and no cavities. I did the filling only and said I don't need the crown and paid large copay amount.
I felt numb for 2.
What I have is actually in the neck and jaw. the left side of my neck hurts toward the side (main muscle/tendon going down from the jaw to the shoulder, and under my jaw, from what I can tell is inside my jaw. there are ridges on my jaw towards my chin that hurt, and also the space in between my jaw hurts. Don't know if it is glandular or tmj related. odd stuff. Cannot see my doc until next Thursday. anything that I can do?

For the part 2 weeks, I have been experiening pain when I open my mouth wide on the right side. The pain is right in front of my ear (upper jaw area). The pain is not there when I talk, chew, laugh..etc. Only when I open wide like to brush my teeth, or bite down on an apple...etc.
I don't hear any popping, clicking when I chew, talk o laugh. I am really worried to if I am developing an issue with my TMJ joint? Or something else all together.

I have had problems with only the left side of neck shoulder and upper back and also I get a twingy head pain in left temple when bending over. Also left side of head has a constant pressure feeling. So now after having MRI's and nothinh there, I am wondering if it's tmj or clenching of the teeth after all I have dealt with anxiety for 2 years.
It starts as a sort of a dull throbbing in my tooth and soon the entire left jaw feels that way. I notice that the pain comes soon after I chew gum or eat something sugary, or at night after laying on my left side with my face on the pillow. Sometimes I can even be doing nothing and the pain will begin. Unless I take a Tylenol, it takes about 15-20 minutes for the pain to subside. My dentist ruled out cavities, sensitive teeth, and a cracked tooth.
My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?

You said that you chewed a lot of gum and that is exactly why you have experienced jaw ache. I get the same problem if I chew a lot of gum - best thing is to limit your chewing on gum, or avoid gum altogether. Chewing gum is quite morrish so you can end up chewing for far too long.
If you feel like chewing on something, have a piece of fruit.
I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
ve been experiencing severe tooth/jaw pain in my left jaw area. Back in October I had a cleaning and some xrays done, which showed nothing but an old amalgamate filling. The dentist replaced it with a composite filling, and all was fine. I had been experiencing some minor sensitivity on both sides to cold (sometimes) and sweets, but that's "normal", I guess.
For the last 3-4 weeks I have had an ache in the lower jaw area. Mostly on the left side but sometimes on the right also. It's worse when I open my mouth and it's more of a dull ache then a sudden, sharp ache. Swelling sometimes accompanies the ache also.
Nothing that I can note was done to set it off. Never had it before. Don't grind teeth or chew gum or anything like that.
I had a DR jab the ear scope so far in that I screamed and thats when I noticed I couldnt chew on the right side, but that doesnt explain the pain and ringing in the left ear. Please help! My ENT appointment is far away as well as my dentist. Is there a masseuse that specializes in the TMJ for some relief? Thank You, anything helps.
I am getting a bridge made for my bottom left side and had my mouth open for a total of 5 hours in 1 day. The pain in my jaw was severe, and my ear feels like there is something in it. There is also a noise when I chew, or open my mouth. I can't open my mouth very big yet, but it is improving. There is no clicking sound when I open and close my mouth . It is more of a whooshing sound. I have a temporary bridge in and although it is not great the bite is OK. My Dr.
I have been experiencing a numbness sensation in me left jaw. Only when I eat, though. Something in the left side of my face swells up and when I touch it, it feels almost numb. This has been going on for more than 6 mos. But, now just last night, my jaw has started hurting. I can forget about yawning b/c the more I open it the more it hurts. The pain from the tooth abscess has spred from the far left cornor of my jaw to my ear and even under my chin. I can't see a denist till next week and this is only getting worse. I already went to the er that is how i got these meds. The clidamycin is also making me very sick to my stomic.
You could have sinusitis that isn't responding to the antibiotics. That should be checked by MRI if suspected. My sister had to have surgery for her sinusitis because it wouldn't drain. You may want to look into trigeminal neuralgia as well, which can cause tooth pain but is actually a neurlogical problem.
It really sounds most like TMJ. If your jaw pops when you chew food or speak, you have TMJ.
It feels sore in my left side of the mouth, it hurts when I try to open it, when I chew... and even when I put my tongue out.
I remember before this happened, like a month or two, I had a cold, and I kinda had a hard time hearing, the inside of the ear would hurt and it felt itchy. And from time to time I would get like a sharp pain between my jaw and throat. Right in the line that the two meet... it still kinda sore if I poke it.
Now, for the last 3 days I am not able to close my jaw on the right side, and I am not able to chew normally. My bite feels quite significantly off (the bottom teeth are too far forward).
Are these symptoms consistent with a TMJ problem? Will this problem likely resolve itself with the standard home therapy?
I woke up yesterday with my left arm having a similar pain in it right above the elbow when I move it in certain ways. I read jaw pain and left arm pain is a "very serious" side effect of Geodon and you should seek medical attention immediately but I don't think this is the same thing as that with the way they just describe it as "jaw/left arm pain".
I have had ringing in the ears for quite some time. I have pain in my left jaw and ear. Both ears seam "full". When I talk I can hear myself like when you have a cold. I have been diagnosed with TMJ and I am now going to a special physical therapist for TMJ. THis is starting help the jaw pain. Prior to that I had seen a doctor who gave me a mouth piece to wear to help align my jaw and help the TMJ. Another symptom I have is the loss of smell which in turn gives me a loss of taste.
