Is generic adderall xr just as good

Common Questions and Answers about Is generic adderall xr just as good

adderall

10 mgs of adderall is the lowest prescribed dose (as far as my research can tell), that is offered. Doctors normally start out with the lowest dose and then wait to hear from the parents to see how the dosage is working. That is the only safe way to proceed. Because it is an extended dose (one tablet lasts all day), its effects are smoother -softer highs and lows.
first of all, the combination of these two medications is okay, and the generic is as good as the label Adderall. Most people do not get tired from effexor, but in fact the opposite, stimulated. Therefore, you may ask your doctor about increasing the dose if you are over your initial tiredness. But more important, stop looking for the magic from pills, and start dealing with the distress you are dealing with, since what you described are symptoms of something, not the something itself.
The one he is on now is Adderal xr 15mg. It is good by the time he gets to school but in the morning and on bus and after school the pills seem not to work. I don't know if it is him coming off med to soon or if it is not strong enought to last or maybe he is using his illness to misbehave. Either way I am so frustrated and tired to tears. I love him so much. I have custody of him and his older brother. I am 50 yrs old.
It is smoother compared to the Adderall, but it doesn't last long as the 120 of Adderall. Dexedrine did bring hope to me as in being another choice other than Adderall, but the 90 mg is not doing it. I was thinking about increasing that dose, and my doctor said that there was a possibility of it. Despite the smoothness and a chance of increasing it a bit, it's not worth the money. It's too expensive, anyway, most likely I will go back to the Adderall.
Adderall 20 mg tablet for some years now (6-7) I requested the generic since it is cheaper, but since it is a tablet and not a capsule, Im aware that all that time it was IR, not XR as the prescription requested. I took a break for about 6 months, and now, going back to school I have started back up on Adderall 20 mg XR capsule.
Would suggesting to her to put me on a XR med with my adderall be more effective? She just thinks the 90 is too high but I don't agree. I think I need something more.
I called Shire and argued with them about Adderall having changed. I actually got through to one of their scientists and he said that the generic is exactly the same as the Adderall. Teva somehow got the right to produce Adderall. That company has the worst drugs there is. They are trying to turn a big profit at our expense. I have been taking Adderall for two years. Around the end of last year I noticed a definite change. I was back to being extremely tired.
Also are you taking regular Adderall or Adderall XR? The XR has been a lifesaver for me, I take two at 7am and I only notice it start to wear off at about 1 am. Good luck with your studies!
have been on this stuff for 15 years, I have gained 60 lbs (yes, I too use to be thin) and have tried to come off this stuff three or four times because as I get more healed from the accident, the more I realize that this stuff just isn't good for you. Also, I was started to notice reverse symtoms. Like the help it has once given me was reversing. I mentioned to my doctor that I was ready to try again to come off of it. I was determined there was no going back.
Right before I left my pharmacy job (7 weeks ago) I was informed Adderall XR was coming out in generic form, so if he prefers the XR it would be a good idea to get a price on generic. It doesn't make sense to me why he keeps quitting and restarting them, you said why but that doesn't make sense. I know those feelings described above and I'm glad I'm off Addrerall, though inside I still want more because I've gained so much weight.
Hi Everyone, I've been reading tons of comments on effexor xr today. In a few days I'm going to start tapering it (one 150 mg effexor xr for just over a year, and previously different doses of prozac), to hopefully wean myself off for good. It seems I've read alot of horror stories about withdrawal from it. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of things to arm myself with to combat the withdrawal? (i.e., certain herbal supplements, etc.) Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
Here I am, October 16, 2014 reading your post. I think back to 2009 when this was posted and I see that I'm just as dependent on Adderall as I was then, possibly more so. I'm anemic as a result of an absorption problem and I know I used this in the beginning to justify my Adderall usage. Now my reliance takes me to some pretty desperate places. I cannot function without it and my life has fallen apart.
The only thing I know about Adderall is that it is no longer available as a generic. The company that held the original patent bought the company that made the generic...thus no more generic. So right now, that is my big beef. If I have to bring my son in every month, well yes that will be a big pain in the you know what. I hope it is not true. I guess I will find out soon enough.
Could you please share your link/source? Increased heart-rate is listed as a side-effect. This is what is listed in the official drug information which can be found at http://adderallxr.com : "Stimulant medications cause a modest increase in average blood pressure (about 2-4 mmHg) and average heart rate (about 3-6 bpm), and individuals may have larger increases.
MY 8 YR OLD IS ON ADDERALL XR PROZAC STRATTERA AND TRAZODONE. WE JUST STARTED THE ADDERALL XR BUT HE ALSO HAS OVERACTIVE THYROID AND HAND TREMORS THIS DID NOT START UNTIL THEY PUT HIM ON PROZAC 20 MG. Good to know that it's not just me. I just started taking adderall 4 days ago after switching from ritalin and provigil before that. I cannot stop biting the sides of my tongue! My jaw and temple's have been killing me from clenching, too. I keep telling myself to stop gnawing on my tongue but it's like a compulsion, lol. I think I'm going to try a mouth guard from the pharmacy and see if that helps.
30-2 o'clock during the day day. I also take Effexor 150mg XR in the morning. And 100mg Effexor tablet (generic) in the afternoon. I also take a 150mg of wellbutrin at about 10am. Now I'm taking a 50mg dose of tramadol for dental problems. And occaisenly a m357 vicodin. Also a bunch of b vitamins and c vitamins. I also drink a lot. And really with what dental work I've had done this past week hardly ate anything in a week. Anyone have any commits on this? Just checking out other thoughts.
Nothing seems to bother him even when he gets in trouble he just apologies and shrugs it off. My husband is just like that to so he probably gets it from him.
I am considering using a Life coach since I have heard that they are really instrumental in treating this disease by making you accountable for the procrastination, concentration, and organization issues. I take adderall but the generic short acting med. This works good for me so that I can control the ups and downs that this med can cause. When I took the adderall XR, I felt lethargic and it just did not last long at all. After 6 hours, I just wanted to sleep.
I have Health Care if you want to call it that since it does not cover prescriptions, just medical and hospital procedures and it is as much as most peoples car payment. If you do not have prescription coverage, there are a few ways to save money on your meds. You may know about these already, but I will tell you anyway just in case. I downloaded a card from a site called www.coast to coastrx.com and it saves me a bunch of money. My 90 day supply of Adderall is 65 to 70 dollars at Target.
My son was on the regular Adderall, but his attention span and concentration was so bad, she put him on the Adderall XR with the regular Adderall. That still didn't seem to work, so now he is on Adderall XR 30mg in the morning and Adderall XR 20mg at noon. It isn't working either. We did use the caffeine when he was on the Ritalin a few years ago. He seems to have trouble with the carmel coloring in dark pop, but Mt. Dew helped some.
A friend of mine is prescribed to Adderall 20mg XR, as am I. After a few weeks she felt as if the drug was not working. She opened one of her capsules and found that it looked as if it was sugar inside, as well as tasted like sugar. She did so for 5 capsules and they all contained the same sugar-like substance. It looked completely different from the medicine which a few of her other adderall 20 mg XR capsules in her prescription consisted of.
He suffers from poly-substance abuse which means he will take whatever it is in an attempt to get high! The other thing that concerns me is the fact that you are on an amphetamines as well as a benzo and a sleeping medication. This is not your every day mixture of medications and have serious interactions as I just ran them through the drug interaction checker. I can not believe all these meds are prescribed by the same M.D.
And yes, I do think the adderall xr is worth trying. It really is the same (does the same) thing as a regular adderall- it just lasts longer. What is it that makes you want to go to the regular adderall? Do you think he was being over medicated? If you would like to start a new post and maybe tell me something about your son (age, grade, etc). I also might be able to suggest ways to help him. I have some very good "link" resources.
I did not take the adderall todday b4 work. I don't know what to do. Just take adderall on my days off? Take adderall when I am home @ night and stay up all night?
Hello Dyblue, This is complicated but I will try to explain it as simply as I can. T3 is a thyroid hormone. First the body produces T4, which is biologically inactive (unusable); then, in various parts of the body, T4 is converted into T3, the biologically active (usable) form. T3 is not just a hormone but also functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain, like serotonin, dopamine, etc. T3 is connected to mood/emotion, cognitive function, metabolism, etc.
About four months ago I decided to finally go to a Doctor, and get back on some type of ADHD medicine. He started me off on a very low dose of generic adderall, (10mg not xr)and has monitored my weight, actions, etc since I started. I am now taking 20 mg in the morning, 9:30am and another 10mg at about 1:30pm. (still not the xr per my request) With 10mg I noticed no effect at all. With 20 I could feel the effect, but not well or for very long.
I started out on Vyvanse and then due to insurance problems went to generic Adderall XR. It doesn't work as well. I figured out the insurance issue so I will be returning to Vyvanse. My doctor thinks it is the best and I found it works great and it really stopped my hyperactivity, thank God. The challenge is I need to up my dose to help with attention, but I tend to be sensitive to the side-effect of sleeping difficulty, so my doctor wants to keep the dose low. Hopefully all works out.
I think more doctors should start patients Concerta because it has fewer side effects than Adderall. I've never seen anyone have side effects as severe as you described from Adderall with Concerta. I still have some side effects from adderall. But I never remember having any from Ritalin (immediate release form of Concerta). But it's been 15 years since I was proscribed that. I find Strattera very interesting. I've never taken it. It's far less proscribed than other ADD/ADHD drugs.
He will be 12 in a couple of months. He is not on adderall. Folcalin, folcalin xr and respidone.
