Common Questions and Answers about Inpatient rehab programs

rehab

Avatar m tn In fact, if you have reservations about inpatient treatment and need help an NA group local to you will likely be able to help you pick the best one because most of the people in those groups have likely been to an inpatient program. Residential or Inpatient programs provide a supportive, intensive therapeutic structured and safe environment in which you are removed from the daily stressful circumstances that fuel the urge to use.
Avatar n tn I posted last night asking if anyone could share their good and bad rehab experiences...why was that deleted? I got an email that there were 3 respnses- If anyone responded please repost! Unless there is some reason we can't share rehab experiences??
Avatar f tn I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...
Avatar f tn My question is, he now wants to enroll in an inpatient rehab to address his issues is this possible so soon after surgery? The only problems he is experiencing are headaches and mild fatigue. I am having difficulty with the centers we have contacted, although no one has outright turned him down, they just beat around the bush. His follow-up appt with his neuro surgeon is in 3 weeks.
1113973 tn?1258663021 t nearly as pricey as inpatient programs. Many work around your work schedule. You have to look for a rehab with the same gusto that you hunt for pills. This is your recovery, seize it!
Avatar m tn There are outpatient programs (much like Physical Therapy) and for more severe debilitating disease, inpatient programs. I really think they are worth looking into. I actually had the pleasure of working in a facility that offered inpatient Pulm Rehab and the progress the patients made was amazing. It really gave them a lot of function back. Let us know how you're doing....and hang in there...
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
5901196 tn?1395543909 Hello! My name is Dee. I'm 53 yrs. old, have 3 adult sons and 8 grandchildren. My history of drug use is very long, 30-33 yrs., so I'll just get to it. (I have to thank God right now for letting me have a home and my family.) I got off Suboxone about a month ago. What I need advice on is this: Even though I'm clean, I'd like to go to inpatient drug rehab, (at least a 30 day program), to work thru all of these emotions that are coming to the surface.
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?
Avatar f tn There are only 3 inpatient treatment centers in the US. Houston, http://houstonocdprogram.org/residential-support-program/ Boston, McLean Hospital http://mclean.harvard.edu/patient/adult/ocd/ocd-photo-gallery.php?main_image=1 and Rogers Memorial in Wisconsin http://rogershospital.
1046832 tn?1255008262 you will have to see if there is a state runned programs .
Avatar m tn Gyver, Your freind had a couple of options. First, there are hospitals that have rehab programs where he could go to the emergency room and they will admit him into detox. Do him a favor and check his insurance, these rahab programs can be extremely expensive. If your freind has a good relationship with his family physician, he can go and tell the doctor what is happening and start a tapering program.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am in a rocky situation. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. I have had an addiction to hydros for a little over a yr now. I went from taking 15-20 a day to 3-5 after finding out I was expecting. I was honest with my Dr. I told him I have a problem and I'm not confident I can kick it alone. Also how scared I am of my unborn sons safety during the withdraw procedure. He made me feel like crap, worse than I already did and do for putting my baby through this.
Avatar f tn Received a bag of thiamine iv, lectures and a script for 5 ativans and told to drive 40 miles to nearest detox rehab. I was quite unable to do this. Toughed it out and went to see my PCP and met with same lecture and of course no detox meds but obtained a work excuse for the five days I called off. Fourth day I enrolled in Gateway outpt rehab telling them I had detoxed at home. Today day 6 I am in terrible shape. I bought a pint and did 2 perks which didn't touch me.
Avatar m tn does anyone know how much it cost to goto rehab if udont have ins.? im hooked on percs for almost 2 yrs and want my life back!! i tried to wean down just had no luck and cold turkey didnt work. please help!!
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
725350 tn?1318680468 A lot of people on here (I was one of them when I first started surfing the forum ages ago) know they have a drug problem and are addicted, but have ruled out the possibility of going to an inpatient facility to detox and begin recovery. We feel like we have too much responsibility, too much going on, or don't want others to know whats wrong, etc etc.. I fought rehab for 3 months before I went, thinking that I was strong enough this time, to do it on my own.
Avatar f tn Please see what my doctor in Boca Raton says about Suboxone. It is so much more addictive than opiates if taken for more than 3 weeks, and not under a knowledgable doctor. His name is Dr. Steven Scanlan. I did 11 days of inpatient hospital detox. I was released on Subs, then Did 3 weeks of rehab. Soon I had to do a second inpatient rehab. Then 2 plus weeks of rehab. You can't afford and it will be terrible for your son!
1065007 tn?1255540445 I am in Central Ohio, so anyone know of anywhere around here would be great. But if i found a INPATIENT Rehab which i could go to for free or almost free... i'd go anywhere! Thanks!! BTW, yes i am a newbie, but did search a lil for this.
905972 tn?1242388801 What options/programs are availabie? My niece just informed me she is addicted to roxys and needs help. My experience is with alcohol and the recovery process may be the same, I'm assuming the withdrawal is different and can be dangerous. She said when she tries to stop she gets pain is in her joints along with other withdrawals. She is 23 and uninsured where do we begin?
318890 tn?1297965320 nat, you need to check yourself into a rehab..inpatient...you have struggled with this for so long...if you get help you wont regret it...nothing changes if nothing changes!!!!
Avatar m tn in regards to getting myself an inpatient program as the life of on and off is one of pure insanity.Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn inpatient rehab is a must for some, and i have been to a couple.
Avatar n tn i have a husband and a son that were addicts and they went to inpatient rehabs. How old is your daughter and how long has she been using? Wouldn't recommend the sub route that is another addiction and is harder to get off than the oxys. Has she had any issues with the law? The reason I ask is if she does you can ask the court to stipulate her to a drug rehab and they usually do. There are also intensive outpatient programs. Please keep the faith.
Avatar f tn I probably just need outpt rehab, but like today, I feel I need inpatient rehab. I ache all over after being clean a month. My kids can see the difference in me because before I was so complacent, now I'm just irritable when I'm here, and gone a lot trying to keep up with this nursing recovery program. I'm stressed out trying to make these deadlines. And to have to depend on my husband to carry his end of it.
Avatar m tn So we tried admitting him (while high) to an inpatient drug rehab. He once again said he has delusions and paranoia and even admitted to coke use. He ended up in the psychiatric unit and after a week of eval. he is outpatient with a brand new scrip of psych meds even with his violent tendencies and pissing hot for coke. Anybody know why they went outpatient when is clearly abusing his medication, taking street drugs and threatening people's lives?
