Inpatient rehab admission criteria

Common Questions and Answers about Inpatient rehab admission criteria

rehab

Avatar f tn I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...
572651 tn?1530999357 t know how it could be arranged for an outpatient surgery though as admission usually has to follow an inpatient stay. I'm so glad there's a doc who knows the ropes and uses them to help an MSer recover mobility. Hang in there and heal Ess. Try not to fret too much over slow connections. We're all well acquainted with those, aren't we? Besides, if you take another pain pill you may be able to slow down enough to run right alongside the hospital's internet connection.
Avatar f tn My question is, he now wants to enroll in an inpatient rehab to address his issues is this possible so soon after surgery? The only problems he is experiencing are headaches and mild fatigue. I am having difficulty with the centers we have contacted, although no one has outright turned him down, they just beat around the bush. His follow-up appt with his neuro surgeon is in 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn It would not necessarily be a done deal, but it is definitely a possibility that inpatient admission would be discussed. There are two kinds of psychiatric hospitalizations. The first one, called a "302" is an involuntary admission, or against the will of the patient. That happens when there is clear evidence that a person is a direct threat to the safety of themselves or others.
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
Avatar f tn Two days later he was moved to an intensive inpatient rehab hospital. He was there for around 3 weeks, where he was able to walk again and started to move his right arm and had some words he could speak. He was determined to come home though and did just that. He is home now. He walks unassisted (probably needs to use a cane but doesn't) He can lift his right arm to about the height of his head. he has minimal movement in his right hand but there is some movement.

5993128 tn?1384747803 I still could not walk safely with a walker, so I was discharged to inpatient rehab for 2.5 weeks. I saw and ENT, placed on 10 day burst of prednisone, did VOR and PT/OT every day and got stable enough to go home. Met with ENT again about month after initial attack, was having 3 days of facial pain on both sides though not at the same time.

5392063 tn?1390319154 Sorry. I meant freedom awaits! Once you take that final leap you will no longer be a slave to the pills. They now control every aspect of your life. You can't even consider morning coffee, grooming, greeting the family without them. Believe me I've been there! Girl this is so doable and you can do this! You won't believe how good it feels! You'll be sick for a little bit but so what? It's so worth the price of admission! Flush those damn things and take your life back!
Avatar m tn So we tried admitting him (while high) to an inpatient drug rehab. He once again said he has delusions and paranoia and even admitted to coke use. He ended up in the psychiatric unit and after a week of eval. he is outpatient with a brand new scrip of psych meds even with his violent tendencies and pissing hot for coke. Anybody know why they went outpatient when is clearly abusing his medication, taking street drugs and threatening people's lives?

Avatar n tn We are in TX and found that the outpatient rehab that was affiliated with the inpatient rehab hospital that my husband was in had water therapy.
Avatar m tn m not certain where you live but in your situation I would recommend an inpatient detox and rehab program. The reason is you show high enthusiasm and readiness to address your addiction head on and because it is placing stress on your family, an inpatient program can provide you a safe environment in which to detox, learn new coping strategies and get established with aftercare. The inpatient programs are highly recommended for people with minimal suppot.
6815927 tn?1395511425 If I remember correctly, you're trying to come off very high doses of Fentanyl and oxycodone. And did I just read yesterday that you are done for some reason with the dr that has been prescribing the patches and won't be getting any more from that dr? Maybe I dreamed that, I'm not sure....but you are down from 200 mcg to 100 on the patches, right? All things considered, your health issues and your drug history....
Avatar f tn first admission of relapse, was on subutex and suboxone for a long time to overcome opiate adiction. came off all meds in probably too short a time, due to personal reasons, couldnt handle the withdrawals and started using again.am sick worked really hard to get off have thrown it all away.
Avatar m tn going away to rehab is scary, but if this is what it will take to get u clean, then i suggest checking in to inpatient rehab. are u talking about crystal meth?/methadon?. getting clean is tough, beyond tough, but the fight is worth it. u need to do whatever it takes right now. i would suggest start by finding an N/A meeting. getting a good support group is essential for any addict so i hope u stick around, u can learn a lot here. best of luck to you. fight with all u have.

11715667 tn?1420590616 The problem is the patient has done many rehab during the past 7 years, he did gained improvements from rehab at early stage, and could walk independently. However he couldn't use his right hand and walk difficultly. He decided to receive stem cell treatment to gain further results. I will post this patient's detial info later.
Avatar m tn Ask your MD about inpatient rehab. Because w/d can be hellish. Also let your physician perhaps \\suggest a suppot program and psychotherapy, also a pain specialist that can help you w/o opiates.

Avatar n tn I posted last night asking if anyone could share their good and bad rehab experiences...why was that deleted? I got an email that there were 3 respnses- If anyone responded please repost! Unless there is some reason we can't share rehab experiences??
Avatar f tn Okay I have just been informed I have to go inpatient by a counselor for rehab. I have already detoxed myself off drugs. So I wonder what will it be like, if anybody has been in a recovery inpatient facility and what to expect especially since I am already off the meds. I am trying to be open minded about this but find it ridiculous to be inpatient for detox when I've done that. Maybe they will offer me a drug screen so I can prove I am drug free and maybe do some outpt therapy instead.
