Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Also, would it perhaps be possible to add some alendronate, or something else to help her bone density and still be able to benefit from the thyroid medication? Thank you so much!
s, but this has exponentially been exacerbated by Arimidex. For the past 2 yrs I have been taking a weekly bisphosphonate (Alendronate), plus twice daily Calcichew/Vit.D to help prevent further bone loss.
Tamoxifen is prescribed for pre-menopausal patients, the AI's for post-menopausal. As I had a full hysterectomy some 19 yrs ago, I could go straight on to Arimidex.
Alendronate one tablet once a week for my Osteoporosis, Calcium 600 + D3 too. then I have Telfast 800 mg for my Allergie Rhinitis, Metformin 2 x a day 'cause I'm DM type 2, Simvastatin 10 mg - for cholesterol and Vit. E 400 IU. I took five years of Tamoxifen then changed to Femara because I have had Lumpectomy in September, 2003. Praise the Lord I am cancer free now. BTW I have also Rectozorin for my Hemorrhoid. You just have to do it awhile and you learn what is low vs high (ie knuckle deep to reach it vs full middle finger vs full ring finger). She had been taking 75mcg once per day. As well as 70mg a week of alendronate once per week for osteoporosis. This is all so confusing. When everything and everyone is contradicting themselves.
Here is the article I was referring to. I hadn't remembered that it addresses nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and not simple fatty liver so it may not be as applicable as I thought. Nevertheless I will post it.
