i have NOT been thinking of sleeping and making sure i am ready to go down for sleep before i even go to bed. i am giving myself ample time to wind down through about 30-35 minutes of meditation w/music, read for about 10-15 minutes, then i will take my meds, then i will read again till my eyes begin to close on me without me being able to control it. then its time for me to go right to bed, focus on my breathing and thats it.

) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.

I think the biggest side effect that you might have will be insomnia. I used to take Lunesta and when I stopped I didn't sleep for a week. On a positive note,,,COngrats on 20days!!!

I have been taking 5mg of generic ambien for about 5 yrs. I take a pill every night. If not I am worthless during the day from lack of sleep. I know that this is discouraged but since I have to work, I have no choice.

A cocktail of 10 mg of belsomra and 1 mg of lunesta will allow you to sleep again. Should that not work then add 1 mg of lunesta. Finally, you can do 25mg of belsomra and 3 mg of lunesta... for those with lupis wgo can never sleep. One could also at this point aleep whenever tired; like during the day without drugs. But then youd likely be done for the day; vut you did without medicating for one say. At this point your body is severly messed up and you cant work: so anytime is good.

I have found that when I wake up in the middle of the night, I will immediately take half of one. This will usually put me back to sleep.

2-3 hrs of sleep combined in a night if I am lucky. The only thing that works for me is 20mg of Ambien, but I can only take it every 7th day, other than that it will not work.... I will let you know how the CBT goes. I go today...

I take 1 mg. xanax at night for sleep. I have been for 7 yrs or so. I want to taper off xanax. Would it be safe to take half a 1 mg. xanax with 2 mg Lunesta or would I then become dependent on the Lunesta also?

I was on the regular Ambien and it got so that it would only work 4 out of 7 nights. I changed to Ambien CR and now I think I have maybe 1 out of 30 nights that I can't get to sleep. I have to remember to take it about an hour before I go to bed, because it doesn't work as fast as they say it will, but once it goes to work, I'm out for the night.

Hi, I've taken 6 mg lunesta, 8 mg ativan, zzzquil (benadryl with 10% alcohol). I also take Luvox and desipramine daily. Any chance this is too much? Really want to sleep but insomnia.

I'm having a slightly different problem. I'm exhausted by bedtime but when I sleep, I'm up after 4-5 hours. After that I just toss and turn in the bed all night. Then I end up having to take a 2-3 hour nap during the day. But even when I skip the nap, I still don't sleep well. I thought it was just because I worked 3rd shift for years but I don't know. I don't have any helpful suggestions though. Sorry.

I take 20mg of Ambien at night for sleep. I have tried everything, including taking time off the medication to get it to work. However, nothing seems to be working. Recently, my doctor added Trazodone 100mg to help the Ambien work. Can anyone think of anything that would work like this?

I take lunesta for sleep, cymbalta for those down times it also helps with pain. I have had 8 surgeries so I do take other pain meds.

Have you ever tried melatonin? If your body doesn't make enough melatonin, you won't sleep well. You can buy melatonin at your vitamin shop, or pharmacy, in strengths ranging from 1 mg to around 5 mg. You might try a low dose to start with and see if that helps. I sometimes have the same issue with sleep; however, mine stems, a lot, from the hours I have to keep. My work schedule requires me to get up at 3:30 am; that means I must go to bed no later than 7:30 pm.

Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

I take between 14-20 7,5 vicadene everyday for 10 yrs then take 9 mg of lunesta to sleep.

s per day, i would occasionaly sneak in an extra 1 or 2 but for the most part stayed at 6.. I thank all of you who take the time to reply as i can tell you it made a hugh difference to me. The one issue I struggled with and still am is sleep. I have taken 3mg of Lunesta but it only allow me to sleep for a few hours.

You sleep good on Ambien, so that is potentially promising. Do you mean you get up in the middle of the night and shop and text and tell jokes *after* you have taken Ambien? I would think not because that would mean you do not sleep good - but I just wanted to be certain. Ambien has a short therapeutic window and my doctor always told me to take it literally right before I went to bed. Not 30 minutes or so until I get drowsy. If there is a way you can do that, Ambien might work.

After 4 weeks of Insomnia i had to get something for sleep , Ambien and it works for me , but without it i really cant sleep . So should i take it every evening ? And is that hard on us Hep C people ? 2. I used a very small dose for a while and didn't have any bad effects, but it didn't really help all that much. Well, let me back up --- if I took a 5 mg dose, it helped me sleep, but I woke up so groggy, I couldn't navigate the next day, so I dropped back to 3 mg; wasn't quite as bad, but still left me groggy - maybe I wasn't getting enough hours of sleep, I don't know.

I just quit this week, The secret for me was to taper off and get used to waking up a lot in the middle of the night. When I quit, I had 3 nights of really bad sleep and the 4th night I slept 8 hours like a log and have had 4 good nights in a row. My doc said that is what you have to go through to quit so I planned it around a time when i was alone and could afford to be tired all day (no naps or it makes it harder).

Ok yeah I only take the 3 mg but forgot I took it then took it again. I will make sure that doesn't happen.

Be careful of taking ambien for any length of time. No one told me that I couldn't take it indefinitely, so I took it for ~ 3 yrs. Al;l of a sudden, I began shking uncontrollably -- primarily at night. Not only were my hands affected, but my head started convulsing as well. I was then informed by another doctor that I shouldn't have taken ambien for that long a period.

i ask my doctor wat i could take to make me sleep since im only get 3 hrs of sleep and she told me not to take sleeping pill. she recommended benadryl (not spelled right).

The Lunesta usually allows for 6-7 hours of continuous sleep. The initial sedating effects of the Remeron lasted anly about 2 weeks but in combination with either one of the hypnotics, it seems to be helping, now 9 months later So, the questions I have are: Do any others take Remeron with one of the above mentioned hypnotics? Can this medication combo be continued on a long term basis? Is the 2 week at a time duration sufficient to keep from becoming tolerant to zolpiedem and Lunesta?
