Common Questions and Answers about Hyzaar prescribing information

cozaar

Avatar m tn At that time I was taking 50 mg of Atenelol per day for heart palpitations, nothing more than OTC acid reducer. The new MD prescribed Hyzaar for HPB. I had horrible feelings so we cut it to half per day 25mg and 25 Atenelol. I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar f tn I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?
Avatar m tn He is currently on Tikosyn, Pradaxa for Clot Prevention/Stroke, Hyzaar for his 40-year-history of HPB, Zoloft for anxiety/depression following a job loss in 3/09, Gabapention for sciatica, and Vitamin D and multivitamin. He has started experiencing mental confusion in the past 3-6 months. Is this related to the transient A-Fib or one of the medications he is taking, or is it transient due to his age of 62.
222369 tn?1274474635 ve gone from 280 to 248 or so. My high blood pressure was under control at the 280 lb mark by way of Hyzaar 100-25. My blood pressure is now in the low range (averaging 108/58). At what point in my weight loss (goal of 220 or lower) would you think I'd need to have my BP meds changed (if at all). I just thought a member here may have already gone through this and would have some advice. Thanks in advance!!
Avatar f tn I was on Lisinopril for kidneys too but it made me cough too much so my doctor switched me to Hyzaar.
Avatar n tn Hey Reta 1040 It is hard for me to give you an accurate diagnosis with limited information over the internet but I can give you some general advice. Left arm pain associated with back pain may occasionally signal heart disease but is more likely to be related to musculoskeletal issues. A pain that is unrelated to exertion or a pain that is always present is not likely to be cardiovascular in origin.
Avatar n tn Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack. Any suggestions woould help.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar m tn Exercise (aerobic) can help the heart increase heart contractions. Does your stress test report indicate hypokinesis (heart muscle impairment)? Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.
Avatar f tn The information you all have provided here is greatly appreciated and not to mention very informative. I'm working on learning everything I can to help two people actually. They're a couple so it's very hard. But I know there are problems with addiction for both of them. I figure the more knowledge I have the more prepared I will be. I have one of them willing to talk to me tonight. He knows what I'm going to be talking about and I'm so surprised he said ok...
408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar m tn It is a combination of Valsartan and the same diuretic as Hyzaar. It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
Avatar m tn I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Also, for the last 6 months my Mean corpusle size has been high. Other tests ok... so my doctor is not real concerned. Anyhow, I am alittle concerned. Do you folks have any ideas at Med whatever this is?
Avatar f tn There should be a prescribing information sheet included with a prescription medicine that will list known side effects.
Avatar f tn I think your local Pharmacist would have this information. If not they will probably get it for you. They are the true experts in medication and prescribing law and best of all their service is free. I hope you are able to find the answers.
9648 tn?1290091207 By obtaining data from pharmacies and health insurers, the drug companies learn the prescribing habits of thousands of doctors. That information has become not just a powerful sales and marketing tool for the pharmaceutical industry but also a source of growing concern among some elected officials, healthcare advocates and legal authorities.
Avatar f tn Hey again... okay, actually... I just checked the prescribing information of Lexapro and apparently it is actually not a good idea to take any sort of NSAID at the same time as Lexapro... so, if you're taking ibuprofen it is probably a good idea to not mix the lexapro and ibuprofen and I wouldn't suggest getting a prescription NSAID after all. Usually the prescribing information says something about when side-effects tend to go away... but, I couldn't find it. But...
Avatar f tn Will you be prescribing 6 month treatment on triple therapy with in incivek for people who have stage 4 early child, cirrhosis, treatment naive with a CC ILB28 and have undetectable VL on week 4th and weelk 12 or will you be prescribing 48 weeks of treatment?
Avatar m tn I have a great concern that my mother’s family practitioner is over prescribing percocet’s to her. Drug addiction runs in our family and we lost our brother to an overdose last year. She had a knee replacement last February and we think he is prescribing these medications for knee pain. She doesn’t go to her orthopedic any more. We found one prescription dated 12/11/12 for 60 pills and then another from the same doctor filled on 12/27/12 at a different pharmacy. What can we do?
Avatar m tn What is the difference between the prescribing of it? Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way. I know they prescribe it in liquid form, the actual name is Hycet, and then you have the regular pill form.
Avatar n tn Coreg says directly in the drug information that it can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting. Also, it states that dosage may need to be changed if this occurs. Are her doctors not aware that this may be a direct consequence of the Coreg, or have they just decided that the Coreg is so essential to her treatment that they will have to work around this side effect rather than switching her from Coreg to another drug or changing the dosage of the Coreg?
Avatar f tn What weight loss supplements are safe to take while on hyzaar and cozaar for high blood pressure
Avatar f tn Hello Wanda, Welcome to our Pain Management Community. We are a membership of Chronic Pain patients. We are not addicts. I think you'll obtain better responses and more information from our Substance Abuse Forum. Here's the link: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/show/77 We don't carry "lists" of PM Clinics. I encourage you to do a internet search and see what you can find. It may take some phone calls. Good luck to you.
406412 tn?1217438384 Hi Bob_27, I have heard that Coreg often leads to an increase in the heart's ejection fraction. It seems that stopping the medication would probably be counterproductive. I know that one of our members, Kenkeith, is very familiar with this medication. If he doesn't have a chance to see you post, you might want to send him a "note" or a private message. I'll be he can give you more information.
