1740983 tn?1312873366 Ok my doctor is saying that I will need to have a hysterectomy because I have a fyfriod inside my uterus and one on the lining of my uterus. I seem to be having some leakage coming down and spotting. This seems to happen when I have sex and it is really bothering me. I have to wear a pad pretty much everyday. I want to know is this hysterectomy really what I need to have. And the leaking and spotting is this from the fyriods?
Avatar f tn Did they say if there was any treatment? How has the bleeding been lately?
Avatar n tn I have also considered hysterectomy, and infact I was booked to undergo surgery, but when the above results came out, the DR advised that it was not neccessary for the hysterectomy.... ie it is normal process of menopuase and that the thieckeing of the wall wil also sort it self out. My fear, aand regret, is that it seems that the bulky walling is thickening at the rapid pace. How can I controll this until i reach the ripe odl age??
Avatar f tn There should be no need for a hysterectomy. Fibroids are very common and usually don't need any sort of treatment. If you have heavy or irregular bleeding, that can be treated with medication. And if the fibroid is large and pressing on organs such as your bladder, there is a surgery to remove JUST the fibroid (myomectomy) thereby leaving your uterus and its many lifelong functions intact. Most ovarian cysts resolve on their own.
1087834 tn?1256647396 Please dont just have a hysterectomy,go on the hysterectomy site and see the alternatves.I had a hysterectomy and have since found out, there was other treatment available, please check it out.My doctor total me there was no treatment for fibroids but there is,if i had known this I would have never had my hysterectomy, take care.
Avatar n tn By partial hysterectomy, what do you mean? A hysterectomy is technically only the removal of the uterus, so you would still have ovaries. And yes, although the chances are extremely rare, you can diagnosed with OvCa and not have ovaries. The cancer is then usually called Primary Perotineal Cancer and requires the same treatment. Do you have any cysts?
Avatar n tn conditions, treatment options and the lifelong damaging effects of hysterectomy. If they were, many women would refuse a hysterectomy as well as removal of one or both ovaries (castration). The non-profit HERS Foundation has been educating women about the lifelong functions of the female organs since the 1980's but is up against a very lucrative industry. Hysterectomy is emphasized in Graduate Medical Education. Each resident used to be required to do at LEAST 70 hysterectomies.
Avatar n tn I had a complete hysterectomy last Nov. I am on hormones but, my problem is I can't achieve an orgasm I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's mental or if my hormones are messed up.I also have a problem getting aroused. It feels like I am going crazy.
Avatar n tn I will have night sweats even though i have A.C. turned down low. Im so tired of this. I have tried hormone treatment...to no avail. Any comments or suggestions will be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn It is not clear as to why the hysterectomy is being recommended based on the above information. Hysterectomy is not usually associated with treatment of breast cancer and your sister should discuss the reasons for this treatment with her doctors.
2074741 tn?1331880740 A full hysterectomy includes ovaries. If they are removed you will likely have to have hormonal treatment and may go into early menopause. I do think it's prudent to get your uterus removed, especially if you have no desire to try for children later on and the risk of having them grow back is high. This is only a partial hysterectomy though. As far as if you should get a full one- I have heard there is some connection between ovarian cancer and uterine cancer.
Avatar n tn There would be NO advantage to have a hysterectomy for the treatment of Breast Cancer ..... I'm sure it was recommended that you have some type of treatment following your breast cancer surgery; you don't mention what type of surgery was performed. A uterine cyst would not be a reason for a hysterectomy unless it was advised by your Gynecologist. Removing the uterus would have no effect on anything to do with your breast cancer diagnosis. Regards .....
4144487 tn?1394479548 I have a hysterectomy scheduled first week of Nov. I am still in pain, and it does affect my daily living. It is not as bad, but I am still unable to work. Some days are worse than others. I will ask my doc how he plans on keeping my vagina suspended. I thought they hooked it up to a tendon or some cartilage or something.
Avatar n tn a recent scan showed the abv mentioned report. Is hysterectomy the only and the final solution in my case? iam having severe pain which was only during periods and has now become an every day affair. i take various pain killers to keep me going. bleeding is normal during periods.pain is localised to the right lower abdomen radiating to the back. doctor has put me back on lupride. but no significant change in pain. iam struggling hard to avioid hysterctomy.
Avatar n tn It has been two years after my hysterectomy and I still have severe groin pain.
Avatar n tn Hello, For fibroids, Medications called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs (Lupron) are commonly used in the medical treatment of fibroids. Other than that surgical treatment myomectomy which is removal of the fibroid (by surgery, laparoscopic or hysteroscopic methods) may also be entertained. Last resort is hysterectomy. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this. I'm concerned about the success rate of a myomectomy and don't want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause.
