Avatar n tn Did you get blood tests for thyroid? If so, what was your TSH level. If not, I would go back to your PCP and request a full panel blood test for thyroid, metabolic panel, adrenals and Vit D and DHEA and B12. I would not wait until May to get this done but keep your appt. with endo.
Avatar n tn Maybe it is Hypoglycemia, what can you to stop that from happening or can you?

Avatar f tn Does anyone get just awful stress/anxiety and hypoglycemia symptoms from your thryoid problem? Or could it be adrenal? I wake up so light headed (I do take 15 mg Dalmane - sometimes 30 mg). But right now if I don't get up in the middle of night and eat something, feels like my blood sugar is off even with numbers in the 70s. I am having a hard time figuring out whether to wait until I see my endo again, or go to my internist.
Avatar n tn I am a 41 year old female that has hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia and am trying to lose some weight, about 10 to 15 pounds. I take meds for my thyroid, watch what I eat and exercise 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hrs a day 5 times a week. I've tried following a low blood sugar diet and was able to lose about 4-5 lbs the first week, but for the next 5 weeks I lost nothing. This last week I went off the diet slightly and gained 2-3 lbs. back. Am I eating the wrong things?
Avatar m tn I have no hypoglycemia nor reactive hypoglycemia, but on a high carb diet i experience tiredness after eating. Thyroid panel is normal. What could be the cause?
Avatar n tn If hypoglycemia is due to thyroid, its usually connected to hyperthyroidism. Hyperglycemia is connected more to Hypothyroidism. Although, there are those who break the rule. There are also other, more rare causes of a low blood sugar. Some symptoms are those like thyroid symptoms. Two types of hypoglycemia can occur in people who do not have diabetes: reactive (postprandial, or after meals) and fasting (postabsorptive).
Avatar n tn You need to get examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension (fall in blood pressure, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD or gastric reflux, and internal ear infections. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

Avatar n tn My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with Hashimotos and sever Hypoglycemia at the same time, is there a link between these two disorders?
Avatar f tn Normally I would say this points to a symptom called Reactive Hypoglycemia. But in your case, with the majority of your thyroid removed, you may need your medication adjusted and/or re-evaluated. Have you had your pancreas insulin production checked lately? Avatar n tn I cannot go for more than about 90 minutes without feelings of ravenous hunger and symptoms of hypoglycemia. I have tested for hypoglycemia, but symptoms occur in the mid-60s, well before the standard blood glucose level identified as hypoglycemic. I have had my thyroid tested (normal) and two blood panels: standard metabolic (CO2 level slightly high at 34, otherwise normal) and standard blood test (normal). I have seen a counselor.
Avatar m tn I have been having problems with hypoglycemia and I was also have fatigue for the past couple months - my arms and legs felt tired and I feel like I was craving sleep. My doctor found my TSH was 9.8 (5.4 high limit normal). All other blood panel items were normal including fasting insulin. He started me on 50mg levothyroxine. 2 days after I started taking levothyroxine, I felt like I had ALOT of energy, more than I've had in years. I've felt this way for 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Last week I was diagnosed with insulin resistent Hypoglycemia. I am not obese....although I am overweight by about 25 lbs. I am 36 year old female. My family does have late onset history ( my dad) but he was not diagnosed until late 50's. I do exercise although not everyday. I was put on Metformin to help regulate my Insulin and told to stay away from concentrated sweets. I guess I am a little concerned about this since I am fairly young.

Avatar m tn I had a fine needle biopsy done on nodules in my thyroid. It came back negative, but the surgeon and my endo suggested I take out my thyroid. My age 62, I had hashimoto's disease of the thyroid, and I had a goiter. I went with what they suggested. When my doctor opened me up, Aug. 28th, 2009, he saw immediately that the nodule was cancerous, as well the nodule was wrapped around one vocal chord, and was also pushing into my espohogous. I had felt fine, no symptons before.
