Common Questions and Answers about Hormone levels while pregnant

hormone

I am 6 weeks along, but have only really been pregnant for 4 weeks.... so is it normal for my hormone levels to be like this? Do they normally spike around like 7 or 8 weeks? I found out so early becasue I took a HPT and also got a blood test done that said positive..... when I would have been 4 weeks but really only 2 weeks pregnant, because of the time from my LMP. Any advice? Could me doctor be wrong? Should I get a second opionion from my family doctor or another OBGYN?
I have low progesterone levels too, I am 6 weeks pregnant and I am taking pills to keep my levels up as well. I don't know much about progesterone in your situation, but I do know that 104 is considered normal blood sugar. If you test 2 hours after you eat a meal, it is normal as long as it doesn't go above 130. I have know people who have normal blood sugar who occasionally go above 130, but I think as long as it doesn't happen on a regular basis there is no need to worry.
I go back on mon 3/12 but I'm going crazy! Could I poss be just 4.3 wks and have the low hormone levels? They said its either a normal, abnormal pregnancy or miscarriage-which I haven't had any bleeding or cramping. They are pretty confident its not an ectopic pregnancy bc my uterus IS enlarged and the US showed my ovaries and kidneys look good. Please help!!
I stopped taking fsh tests because I know that many women on this site have gotten pregnant with levels higher than 20. Is your tsh (thyroid) under 2? Some doctor's think under 5 is okay, but under 2 is best for conceiving. I was put on medication for 3.6 and once retested, it was around 1. I had a cycle where I ovulated on cd 8 and my regular ovulation is around cd 12.
Why do i have bad acne while im pregnant? I thought my skin would be soft...
I would go get your progesterone levels checked as you may not have enough of this hormone to sustain your pregnancies, alternativley you could go to an acupucturist as are able to thicken your uterine lining to sustain a pregnancy, hope this helps
She has been off of her medicine for years. Someone told her that the increase in hormone levels during pregnancy can make you seize. Does anyone know anything about this or experience similar symptoms? Thanks.
did an u/s and pelvic at ER made me bleed a little more but then it stopped and started again hormone levels at 1800 is this normal
This is fairly normal during pregnancy. Your hormone levels are whacky, and your blood volume has increased significantly, so your heart is working overtime. But, with that said, if changing position (try sitting up slowly, and when you go to lie down, lie down very slowly) doesn't relieve it almost immediately, I'd call my doctor and/or go in for an EKG just to make sure.
bleeding can be quite common in pregnancy, especially when it is around the times your period would have been due, as the hormone levels arnt quite high enough, but as you've had a pos preg test both blood and urine it prob wont be due to that. Alot of women go on to have healthy pregnancies, after a bleed, and I know it doesnt help but you can only wait and see what happens.
My doctor was always checking my HCG levels the pregnancy hormone to make sure it was where it should be.
I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with progestrone and if taking it while pregnant helped them to have a normal pregnancy or if they still had problems or miscarried. Thanks!
Is taking Armour while pregnant and trying to get pregnant safe? My endo told me if I want to get pregnant, I need to go off the Armour beforehand.
Periods During Pregnancy: It seems like at some point every woman has heard that their sister's friend's cousin had a period while they were pregnant. Or "oh I bled throughout my pregnancy and didn't know I was pregnant because it was my period!" This is a myth. Women often confuse any vaginal bleeding as their period because that is what they are used to happening. You did not experience a period; you experienced vaginal bleeding! This is a common occurrence and a wide misconception.
I'm wondering how this is going to affect the baby as I know it's like the chicken pox. I did have a friend have them while pregnant and he doc, said it wouldn't affect the baby but I know these first few weeks are such a crucial time. Her doctor told her that the problems occur if you've never had chicken pox and you get chicken pox but your body has already built up the antibodies to this. I'm wondering if I should go to the ER???? HELP PLEASE...

Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen modulator and is thought to lower estrogen levels in the breast and not necessarily lowering these levels in the ovaries. Menstruating while on tamoxifen is not indicative of it's effectiveness or ineffectiveness. This is why barrier contraception is recommended - technically one can still get pregnant. Arimidex and Aromasin are for advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. There is no data on its use in premenopausal women.
i went on holiday 3/5/09 and while i was away started to bleed quite heavily and on the 3rd,4th and 5th day quite bad contraction type pain, went to dr on my return who sent me to hospital, nurse examined me and said cervix was still closed but my hormone level was only 200 so therefore she thought i had miscarried, was told to go back in two days to have levels re checked, did this two days later and hormone levels had risen to 270, again was told to go back in two days, agin went back and lev
A more recent study published in 2001 also showed that strength training in middle-aged (44 to 48 years old) men increased levels of free testosterone.21 2. Protein combats SHBG, helps maintain optimal testosterone levels. While adequate protein consumption is vital to maintaining muscle mass in both men and women, it is also important in maintaining testosterone levels.
Now that I am a normal post menopausal age, about 3 yrs ago, my doctors stopped all systemic estrogens in order to simulate a normal menopausal age change of hormone levels. So, since then, (keep in mind I have no ovaries, uterus or cervix), all I've been on is the Vagifem. I do have to take supplemental Vit. D though, as I have osteopenia and I'm unable to get direct sunlight.
So ovaries develop more follicles than normal every month.Diagnostic tests are 2 hr GTT,serum androgen and testosterone levels,LH-FSH ratio, prolactin levels,TSH levels,17-hydroxyprogesterone levels and 3D ultrasound done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

I'm not sure of the dosages, but I've been using a progesterone cream, it's made from plants and is totally natural. What I use is prescription from a doctor who deals with hormone replacement therapy. I'm in Canada so I'm not sure how it works down there. Here you can also buy cream in the health food stores that has progesterone in it, however I know the dosage is lower than my prescription.
