Heat stroke migraine

Common Questions and Answers about Heat stroke migraine

heat

Avatar f tn Its fine to go swimming, however I highly doubt you had heat stroke. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and you would need to be hospitalized. What you are probably referring to is heat exhaustion.
Avatar n tn why does my head keep hurtting bad like a migraine every sence i had my stroke
Avatar m tn ve done a little reading on your issues, and aside from dehydration, your symptoms also sound like a migraine and migraine aura. You can get one that will last for days, it can be brought on by temperature and exertion, among other things, and can cause the initial slurred speech and facial numbness/tingling, plus disorientation, and bright light can bring it back on. Some people get them routinely, others just during one period in their lives.
Avatar f tn or did you just have a really bad migraine and then the stroke happened? or was the stroke not related to a migraine at all and now after your stroke you have really bad migraines? Ive always had bad migraines.the kind of migraines where i have aura then left arm face and tongue numbness then the awful headache. so it was leading to a stroke. no one could ever control the migraine. do you have different types of migraines? like every day its a different pain?
Avatar f tn Yesterday I was terrified by an episode of stroke-like symptoms... I'm a 21-year-old female, so I don't think it's likely that it was a stroke or TIA, but all my parents/aunts/uncles/grandparents have some history of heart disease, heat attack, or stroke, so I don't think I should rule it out. Anyway, nothing like this has ever happened to me before, and it started out when I woke up at roughly 5:30 am yesterday.
Avatar m tn i work in the heat and just recently started having bad headaches it feels like a bad ear infection what do you like it is Im a 29 year old female also very sensitive to sound and light too and they usually last all day
763620 tn?1234462175 I an a 61-year old female with a 45-year history of classic migraine (with aura). In 2007 I was diagnosed with a right-sided internal carotid cave aneurysm and underwent stent-assisted coiling to close off the aneurysm. The procedure successfully closed off the aneurysm, but the nature of my migraines has changed. The aura has changed somewhat in nature (flashing lights vs. "heat waves") though the scotoma still occurs and the aura is still bilateral.
Avatar n tn The final agreement was a complex migraine. Dr. indicated it has s/s of a stroke. I contine to have slurred speech, and r side weakness. I just cant seem to get up and get going with out some help. The hospital tests were a normal, MRI,MRA, EEG, ECHO, Swallow Test, CT. The MRi did show a past small stroke. The neurologist has indicated all is well with me. But I don't feel like all is well.
Avatar f tn Now they are calling it a “Complicated Migraine” which has the same signs of stroke. It’s been two days and he still does not have all the feeling in his arms and legs. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Does anyone else suffer from migraines especially when it is hot out or is it just me? I can't go outside for more than a few minutes when it's hot out without getting a migraine or feeling like I'm going to get sick?
1192491 tn?1265031829 Hi, yes, I've had a migraine like that. It's on my MedicAlert bracelet as "Migraine accompaniment, mimics TIA or stroke". Basically, we LOOK like we're having a stroke, when in reality it's 'just' part of the migraine. It's really frustrating, really scary, and basically harmless. However, if it continues for a long period of time, it'd be smart to get it checked out just to be sure that you're not missing something.
Avatar f tn Last night I awoke with numbness on my right side and mild nausea and was concerned that I could be having a mini stroke instead of a migraine. I searched online for symptoms of a stroke and they mirror those of a migraine. Is there a way to differentiate between the two? Obviously, I don't want to run to the hospital every time I have a migraine but I would also not want to dismiss a more serious condition.
Avatar n tn No, but a migraine may be a precursor to a stroke....a tell one may be happening soon. This would be something not a typical or normal headache or migraine for the person. Have you been seen by a Dr ?
Avatar n tn I have heard that once a person has had a heat stroke, they can not tolerate the heat anymore. It seems to do something to our body's chemistry. I have not had a heat stroke, but, I am extremely heat intolerant. I am always hot, and I must be in the A/C or I get short of breath, PVC's and feel horrible. I am even hot in the winter. One thing besides heat stroke that can cause heat intolerance is an over-active thyroid and also a lack of natural progesterone.
Avatar n tn There is a form of migraine called hemipalegic migraine, which can mimic a stroke in the way of causing paralysis on one side or both sides of the body and may also impair speech and vision. I dont know where you live but I would make an appointment with a neurologist specializing in headaches. I have a type of migraine my neurologist thinks is a form of hemipalegic migraine but without paralysis and that is how I know this.
Avatar f tn One month ago I developed a migraine headache and moments later I could not think clearly.I could picture in my mind what I wanted to say but could not put it into words. This went on for a few hours.I have had migraines before but not where I could not find words to talk.Should I tell my Dr.?What could this be?
Avatar f tn The reason is the facial numbness and the arm. Migraine people have a higher risk of stroke. Also, because you are a women (right)? I would also check for heart attack since we get werid symptoms. You had the jaw thing going on and the arm sensation and those can be heart attack symptoms in a women. I believe they are all migraine but you should check. Do you still have the symptoms? The sooner the better , I would just go into the ER because they will get it all done .
Avatar n tn I cant really tell you if this is a fibo sx or not, i dont know much about fibro apart from it having numerous pain points. The only intense heat in my arm that i've experienced was a few years ago, dx with some long word but means i'd pulled the muscle off the bone, between my writst and elbow. If i tried to use it, the muscle just burned white hot and when i wasn't using it, it just flopped like it was hanging there by the skin. I did it to the other arm a few months later lol.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
