Heat rash vs sun rash

Common Questions and Answers about Heat rash vs sun rash

heat

Avatar n tn t anything that can be done quickly, the best advice which I could give is to cover up and take care in the sun - you will find that you are hypersensitive to the sun during this year and you will get heat rash when it gets hot, so stay covered and probably next year if you don't get burnt it will have gone.
Avatar m tn Hi All, I seem to have developed some kind of heat or sun rash that i experience every time i go overseas. It normally appears within 15 minutes of exposure to sun. I've tried all different types of sunscreens that are meant to be very friendly with no luck. Once it's appeared pretty much nothing will calm it down including air con, antihystamines or steroid creams (which i don't like using).
250701 tn?1320974765 For me it wasn't just the sun, but the combination of heat, sun and sweating that turned the rash into an ugly monster. Once it flares it's a bugger to calm back down. If you have any rash issues now, be very careful. If not, maybe try very short exposures and see - if you are willing to take the risk. Otherwise, wait until the end of treatment to soak up some rays.

It's not from sweat because I'm sweating. could you help me I'm going to see an allergist in few week.
Avatar n tn its not itchy but very sore looking.what is it?should i bring him to a doctor?
Avatar n tn Cholinergic urticaria is a subcategory of physical urticaria ( hives) that is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat. Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise, heat from the sun, saunas, hot showers (reaction to water can also indicate water urticaria) or any stimulus that causes an increase in body temperature. All urticarias are caused by an elevated histamine release by the body's mast cells.
Avatar n tn I have had a heat rash on my neck, beside the jawline now for 14 years. I have been to a few Dr's who have said "Its just a heat rash, nothing you can do about it". My question, can a heat rash last for this long? Its been in the same place and has never spread. Its definately gets worse in the heat, it itches like crazy.
Avatar n tn I noticed that many people are having the same problem as I am regarding sun rashes; where it is extremely itchy and turns red! A few years back I went to Italy and I got this rash again ..this year I went to Punta Cana..and i almost got the rash until i discovered why it was reacting like this. I do have sensitive skin, although over time your skin becomes more sensitive. I got rashes when I used tanning oil ...and it was bad...
Avatar n tn My mom thought it was a heat rash but i looked that up and none of the sites said anything about them being on arms. I stayed inside mostly the next day and then were gone. Then today I went to the beach and after being out a while i noticed that they were all over my arms, front and back, on the tops of my hands, all over my legs front and back and also on the top of my feet. What could this be from and how do I get rid of it?
Avatar f tn Being i was pretty much an outdoor person i was lucky the sun didn't cause me any problems but the heat sure got to me... As for tanning, good luck. Always tan easy but not on these meds. Not sure why but 3 different summers of treating and just wouldn't tan...
Avatar f tn I have never had heat rash before, and have been out in the sun plenty in my lifetime...I went on vacation in Feb and after a week on the beach I ended up getting a nasty heat rash on my stomach, chest and arms. It eventually went away, but it was strange for me to get it. Then just this past week, I was out in the sun for the day and got another bad heat rash on my arms? What's going on? The only thing that is different is that I've been on birth control pills for the past 3 years.
Avatar f tn However, the rash is restricted to my face and lower limbs - areas most exposed to the sun - so there is some link. But if it is the sun, the effect is not immediate, and the rash never totally disappears. I have never had this rash on my trunk or groin area. My head does get very itchy though, as does my face in general. This is at its worst in the spring/early summer and then in the summer, it is my forearms, then forearms and lower legs and eventually also my upper arms.
Avatar f tn I am also very sensitive to the sun and my rash does get worse. I also am really hot all the time and I sweat alot. Please if anybody could help me please write back.
Avatar f tn Then when my skin gets hot the redness comes back in the same exact spots. I believe my skin is extra sensitive to the heat because if I go out in the sun and my rash is covered, it will flare up due to heat rather sun exposure. Also, the same bumps appear every time. This past vacation, my right thigh got the worst of it. My left thigh wasn't as bad and then my core and upper arms got the rash pretty bad too. It's so frustrating. Why does this happen and why now?!
Avatar f tn I also got a rash, while driving in the car, yesterday. But I think it was the heat, not the sun, so today I ran the air-conditioner, whie driving. But the rash is still on my stomach...first rash I've had, since treeatment started, 12 weeks ago. But I kind of figured I'd get one, because I get heat rash, anyway, but not when I was younger...
Avatar n tn Hi Some people are likely to be more sensitive to heat or to sun exposure. You may be experiencing a photosensitivity reaction. Photosensitivity reactions involve a whole spectrum of skin conditions. Solar urticaria may present with a rash few minutes after exposure to the sun. Chemical photosensitivity may present with skin rash after application of creams and lotions coupled with sun exposure. Which one applies in your case?
Avatar m tn The Riba rash (for me) was more like having a really bad case of prickly heat, heat rash, although itchy. The VX rash was more like a hivey, REALLY BAD sunburn like you can get w/blisters, that sort of rash. It covered large patches of my arms legs and face for part of the time and my abdomen for a another part of the time. It may be different in different people as far as their individual reaction to the drug and their skin type and things like that.
2059648 tn?1439766665 Just remember not everyone has problems with being in the sun, the heat was much worse for me, never caused any rash... Just test the waters.
Avatar f tn I have had urticaria in the past from heat rash and the rash did not have little white heads. It is likely that you are sweating more and the pores are getting blocked up hence the little white heads. It also looks from the photo that you have an oily skin, and these type of spots are quite common on that type of skin. Have you noticed at all apart from the sun, whether this is linked to round the time of your period?
773801 tn?1244520679 However, every summer I get a heat rash on both arms that itches and irritates me. Why do I get a heat rash even when I am not in the sun? It can be a rash one minute and then it will clear up another and soon as my body gets hot the rash comes back. Is there something I can put on it besides lotion that will help my arms stay cool or to make it go away by itself?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have suffered from chronic itching and skin rash for the last few years, I also suffer very badly when i am in the sun from what i assume is heat rash even though i have been on steroid tablets, steroid creams, anti hystamines and so on at the time that i go to a hot country, I go to spain once a year as my parents live there and each year i end up looking like im diseased when i come home.
Avatar n tn Photosensitivity which refers to a spectrum of skin conditions like solar urticaria may present with a rash each time with sun exposure. In solar urticaria, the rash or hives appear a few minutes after exposure to the sun and these rash involves areas of the body that are exposed to the sun. For lupus, the rash is referred to as a malar rash. This rash may sometimes be misdiagnosed as rosacea as it covers the cheeks and crosses the bridge of the nose.
