finger

Avatar f tn I hit the side of my hand where the little finger is with a door very hard 5 weeks ago while playing with my kid, I fell down and my hand hit the door, when that happened it did not hurt much, it moves fine, but now after 5 weeks it is hurting more, when I pull the little finger back my hand hurts, and now the pain is going a little up my arm between my hand and the elbow, it worries me, shouldn't the pain be gone by now, it didn't almost hurt at the beginning, could it be a fracture?
Avatar n tn sent me for a nerve test forget the name EMT?? not sure. Was diagnoised with the carpal tunnel and ulna nerve thing. Have insisions in hand and elbow( haven't seen yet) More annoying than painful but can lead to more serious problems. My pain is mainly in my shoulders, especially my right one and my right shoulder blade. Your shoulder, back, spine and hands will probably need checked. Hope you get some answers.

Avatar n tn If so, you may have some carpal tunnel symptoms going on, that typically presents with the thumb, index and middle finger symptoms. At any rate, it would probably be a great idea to go to your primary care physician and get evaluated for this problem. He/she will be able to some DTR's on that extremity to check for nerve related issues. Good luck to you!
1467506 tn?1286413017 ) The pain begins at my knuckle joint and extends down all fingers, some wrist pain as well though that seems to come and go whereas finger pain is always there, just intensity changes with activity. I am planning on finding a hand doc this week but wanted to know if this sounded like anything any of you have experienced before. Might it be from the FM or is it most likely not related?
Avatar f tn It’s widest when wrist and hand are straight in line. When the hand is bent up or down, the tunnel becomes slightly smaller. This then presses on the nerve which then causes a pain right up to the arm. Often proper working style, working without bending wrist, using smooth movements to operate the mouse and key pad, and relaxing the joints of finger, wrist and arm in between helps.
Avatar m tn I wake up several times per night, every night, with a painful hand and no blood in my hand and lower arms. However, I also type for upwards if 8-10 hours daily either writing/editing manuscripts or playing games. This includes intensive, sometimes rapid, clicking.
Avatar n tn Yes, intervertebral disc herniation in the cervical an lumbosacral region can cause these symptoms in hands and feet due to compression of exiting nerve roots at the cervical level and lumbar level, responsible for hand and foot pain respectively. Cervical disc compression if severe or associated with spinal canal stenosis can lead to symptoms in the feet also. You need a neurologist to examine you clinically, ask for an MRI spine to check the exact levels and evidence of spinal stenosis.

Avatar f tn I then had a pain in my left thumb joint all of a sudden, it then moved to my wrist and then all into my hand, a chronic ache and throb and cramping. It then started exactly the same in the other hand, the same pattern aswell and is chronic in both of them! I have been to doctors multiple times who don’t know what it is, arthritic tests are all normal and as are xrays. I have been referred to a rheumatologist but the next appointment isn’t for another 6 months so I don’t know what to do.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with MS in August of this year and this finger pain was one of the earliest symptoms after I fainted in Feb (but had no idea that was anything serious) - I went to a rheumatologist for the finger pain and he couldn't find anything but did think I had carpal tunnel and the nerve test for that is what started me on the path to a MS diagnosis.
Avatar n tn When I attempt to bend my finger it hurts like crazy, this feels almost like a hair bump on the inside of my hand. Very uncomfortable. This bump doesn't have a head to it like other bumps I've experienced in the past.
Avatar n tn I've recently been having issues with my right hand/arm. It has been tingling and almost numb feeling. I've also gotten what I've heard called "trigger finger" where some of my right fingers will cramp and lock up. I've reached out to my doc who is working on an appointment. My sister was diagnosed with MS about 8 years ago. Am I being overly concerned? Is there any new research based on genetics for siblings?
Avatar f tn , I have had sharp wrist pain through the centre and also in the palm sometimes, I also have really painfull tightness and pins and needles in the hands and three middle fingers and forearm. I feel a burning and static feeling in both of my palms which goes through to my fingers. Also in my palms I have a sensation of something pressing/rubbing together. I feel these symptoms all the time but they're much worse when they are resting.
Avatar m tn Go for an Orthopaedician examination and confirm the diagnosis and you would need rest, strapping of that finger and anti inflammatory drugs to cure your problem. Take care!

Avatar n tn It started with my index finger having spasms, and then moved to in between my middle finger and pointer finger knuckle. It now is deblilitating my pinkie and ring finger and causing some minor pain in the outside part of my wrist. With my hand straight out I cannot I cannot put my pinkie or ring finger together and I cannot get my ring finger together with my middle finger. Any thoughts? I have attached a pic of how close I can get my fingers together. I am 32 and relatively healthy.
Avatar f tn it sounds like some joint pain w wrist and fingers (compared w skin and musclular pain?), so a good dr or rheumatologist might have some clues. don't overtrain or force anything, it doesn't help. some stretching and routines that help maintain range of movement and flexibility are beneficial. just please don't pound your inflamed joints, it's damaging. if you find warm packs or cold packs help, do that.

Avatar m tn You may have severely bruised the bone, or fractured it by the force that went on the hand as you landed. An xray of the hand would be able to show whether you have caused damage to the bone. In the meantime strap the middle finger to the two either side to immobilise it. You can apply a lot of natural yogurt to that part and lightly bandage it. This helps by drawing out the inflammation. Keep your weight off that hand too until it is fully healed.
