Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.
The alternative is guaifenesin, which you can buy over-the-counter. Mucinex contains guaifenesin, but I would get the plain guaifenesin. It works very well.
The ingredients are acetaminophen, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine. Will any of those ingredients caus a positive drug or alcohol test?
Hi i can confirm that the cough syrup is robitussin chesty cough medicine that contains (guaifenesin) only.Its in a red and black box.I have never noticed my cervical mucus ever before and this was my first month on clomid.I took robitussin every morning and evening (5ml dose).You only take it after AF has ended and stop when you ovulate.I drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning as its supposed to help CM too.
This helps calm the effects of allergy drainage, which can upset the stomach and cause a sore throat. The other thing I do is take 1200 mg. guaifenesin (Mucinex or generic), once in the morning and again at bedtime. This thins mucus so that it *will* drain, also allowing the throat more moisture. Excess mucus causes coughing. You can get a mucolytic (mucus thinner) called guaifenesin over-the-counter. Mucinex contains gauifenesin but I would get the plain guaifenesin. Vitamin B5 also thins mucus. He would have to take 500 mg a day. No side effects. Then there are anti-inflammatories, among them Vitamin C. Of course, stopping smoking would help the most, but you have had no success in that area. Maybe once he gets more comfortable at reducing the coughing he will think about quitting.

i stoped this drug for 2 months and yesterday i decided to take it but the last prescription the pharmacy made each tablet 100 mg. and i forgot thinking it was only 25 mg and yesterday i took 2 tablets of 100 mg ( 200mg) thnking they were both only 50 mg. yesterday i didn't sleep as my legs started shaking and kicking all nights , my heart beats so fast, and i feel nausious and dizzy. now i'm still feeling the same and a little bit of fever.
But the fact is that this expectorant is used to loosen and thin mucus of a different kind too, called cervical mucus, in women. Robitussin is only a specific brand and any expectorant that contains guaifenesin as the only active ingredient can be used in its place. Generic versions are most likely available as well. Be sure to carefully inspect the ingredients list to make sure the ONLY active ingredient as guaifenesin. Any other ingredients can diminish the effect you are looking for.
I took a 30 mg tablet of Tylenol 3 and 2 naproxens 500 mg each. About an hour later I took 4 more 500mg naproxen, an hour after that 4 more. I wasn't thinking of anything other than stopping the pain. About an hour after that I took an adult sized dosage of Nyquil. I awoke Monday morning with a sharp pain in my upper abdomen. I have been taking 10mg of lexipro four three years.My medical dr. prescribed 20 mg of lexipro. My anxiety sent me back to my pyciatrist. He said to stay on the 10mg because I had too much anxiety about taking the 20. Anyway I accidently took a 20 mg tablet this morning. My dr is out today. I believe 4000 mg is the maxium dose you should take in 24 hours and half that if you are a drinker (appox 2 alcholic drinks per day would classify as that).

I was having bad menstrual cramps and took too much Tylenol. I believe I took 6,000 mg in 24 hours. Now I'm looking on the internet and totally freaking myself out that I'm going to have liver failure. It's been 48 hours since my last dose. My stomach is queasy, but that could be because I'm so upset. Is 6,000 mg spread out over 24 hours enough to cause harm?
I over dosed on 300 200 mg Ibuprofen and was taken to the ER last week where i was given charcoal. Ever since i came back home my body has been acting funny and i am having extreme pain (it feels like my right kidney but it seems a little low to be my kidney) and i was wondering if there could have been some internal damage that would not have shown up right after the overdose but a little bit after? Should I be concerned or is this just my body trying to fix it's self?
The maximum recommended daily dose is 4,000 mg, and you took 10,000 mg. If you take more than the recommended dose, it may lead to liver failure and death if untreated. Please seek medical help if you have not done so already!

I take 70 mg of methadone a day - 30 mg in the AM and 40 mg at bedtime. Works terrific for neuropathy! In fact, it gave me back my life! Been on it now for 8 years, and have not increased the amount for the last five years. Still working so why mess with it, right? BUT I was in an accident last March, and it tore up my right shoulder. An another doc said it was inoperable but .. we shall see. In the meantime, I was given 15 mg oxycodone to take for pain, every 6 hours.
Mucinex D active ingredients are 600 mg guaifenesin and 60 mg pseudoephedrine. Please help do i need to take to emergency vet or will he be ok? he has been acting ok and he has eaten his food and drink water since.
t want to get Mucinex which has other ingredients, but plain guaifenesin. Also, take 500 mg of vitamin B5. That is also a mucolytic. No side effects.
