Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.
Vitamin B5 also thins mucus. He would have to take 500 mg a day. No side effects. Then there are anti-inflammatories, among them Vitamin C. Of course, stopping smoking would help the most, but you have had no success in that area. Maybe once he gets more comfortable at reducing the coughing he will think about quitting.
I can find no drug with the name "restyl." Do you perhaps mean "RESTORIL," which is a sedative-hypnotic in the benzodiazepine, (antianxiety) class of meds?
There is also the possibility you meant "RESYL." a trade name for guaifenesin, which is an expectorant.
If you've been taking RESYL for a cough for the past 6 MONTHS, you need to see your doctor inmediately. The med probably won't hurt you, but a cough lasting 6 months needs looking into.
But Im afraid to take it because one of the side effects I read was anxiety. I dont want to have more anxiety. Im also afraid to take it because Im afraid I might be allergic to it. Since last november I went to the emergency because I was allergic to nyquil so since then Im afraid to take any medication. So what do you think, should I take it?

The problem in the presecription which attached withthe drug written a risky side effects can damage the kidneys .. And the huge amount of vit d3 ( 1000-3000 iu) it has poisinous that lead to negatively affects on the liver and kidney functions !!!
I was planning to take 5000 iu of vit d3 per day .. However i prefer to lower the quantityper day ..
ve seen on the Internet were only using up to like 80mg and they experienced the side effects in a lil bit stronger sense. My side effects seem to have been only a minor version of itself and not the whole side effect... And if I may add. I'm not addicted or ever think about being addicted to the vyvanse or any drug I've ever used. No matter how addictive the drug might be, I can take a normal dose or a high one, as I have mentioned. And I had minor side effects with no addictions...
A note about your phlegm problems. From using the emphysema medications one can develop thrush (a fungal infection). This no doubt extends to the lungs. Antibiotics and prednisone are marvelous food for fungi. They love it. So what do you do to help yourself....
Mucomyst is back on the market. That will dissolve the phlegm and has a neutral ph, unlike stuff like Spiriva which is acid. (Fungi thrive in an acid environment.) Also you might want to take a potassium iodide supplement.
Oddly enough, during a visit to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist, I was told to take prilosec, once in the morning and again at bedtime. This helps calm the effects of allergy drainage, which can upset the stomach and cause a sore throat. The other thing I do is take 1200 mg. guaifenesin (Mucinex or generic), once in the morning and again at bedtime. This thins mucus so that it *will* drain, also allowing the throat more moisture.
It normally lasts for 8 to 10 hours, but with this overdose it will last much longer. The worst should be the initial hit, but you will feel the effects as more of it gets released over time. But, it should not be as bad.
Your note doesn't quite make sense as you said you took it today, but then you said, " I haven't even eaten in the past three days.
