glucose

Avatar m tn 140 is the American measure.
910435 tn?1296748610 People with this type tend to rise in the morning with higher than normal blood glucose levels, and after eating may have a drop in blood glucose levels. I call it a reverse spin cycle [no pun intended]. A lot of doctors have not been made aware or just do not know how to treat LADA. Frequent testing before meals and after meals to see how foods affect your blood glucose is a must. Bad carbs and starches are bad guys so pay strict attention to the intake. Do you have a home glucose meter?
Avatar n tn _i am worried about all the conditions i am developing i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3 years ago, my levels of glucose are always up & down i also take some (anti depressants) (trozadone & prozac) along with my glyburide & glipizide) i just had a blood test done and i was diagnosed with Low T @ 200 is this the reason why my penis gets soft while am doing sex w/o ejaculating or my sudden change on 1 minute sex activity .?
Avatar n tn After meals, glucose levels up to 140-something are considered normal. Your little one was probably crying so hard when his glucose levels were low because he felt bad... when glucose levels drop below about 70, we feel pretty awful. The high reading over 200 certainly is way above where the normal level should be, so I agree that he should be checked by a pediatrician.
Avatar f tn Treats should be low carb, so I stopped commercial treats, and gave my dog low fat cheese, broccoli and sandwich meats. 8. When he was given fast acting insulin, it dropped his sugar too quickly and too low, so the body responded by putting out glycogen from the liver, which causes a fast increase (this is called rebound), which is why he shot up from 87 to 463. 9.
863754 tn?1239144755 Thanks for responding. She's still hanging on. The low glucose has been resolved, for now. But, what we're looking at is near complete renal failure. She is also developing pneumonia, which is making her labored breathing worse. Even though the low glucose is not a problem, anymore, I'm still wondering what would make her glucose be metabolized so quickly... I looked up countless conditions and didn't find a single thing that could account for it.
Avatar f tn N if it gets too low than eat one of those just always keep something around in case it does get low BC u be needing that sugar. Just look on the packages of how much sugar is in the food u eat. U will get a handle on it. I do know some juices u got to watch out for. U can ask ur primary doctor about it BC they usually can help u more with it.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of high potassium levels and low potassium levels? My dog is having kidney problems.
Avatar n tn have you tested your glucose levels when these symptoms hit you? You may find that your glucose levels have dropped too low, for these are some of the symptoms of low blood sugar. Many people do mention tingling in hands when glucose levels drop too low. I would heartily recommend that the next time this happens, you do an immediate glucose test, and then perhaps test again about 45 minutes later.
233382 tn?1193658141 The inability to control his muscles was probably due to the very low glucose levels. That kind of temporary symptom is very common with severe hypoglycemia. He should absolutely always have some sports drink such as Gatorade with him. If he notices any kind of loss of muscle control, loss of coordination or the knee problem you write about, he should test his glucose first of all, for the problem is probably hypoglycemia.
Avatar m tn He said sugar levels were normal but insulin levels were extremely low and put me on a medication called Metformin used for type II diabetics. I have used this medication 500mg twice a day at meal time and it seems to be helping all of my symptoms, and I am begining to lose weight. Since my foot is better I am allowed to work out on recumbant bike and elliptycal machine for an hour a day which also helps in weight loss.
Avatar n tn I have been getting high sugar levels that drop very low quickly on a daily basis. Usually always occurs after eating lunch? Is this due to hypoglycemia?
7732297 tn?1397446837 Any of you ladies have low iron while pregnant? I took my glucose test and they were worried about my iron levels so they are making me take, iron pills. What could happen if my iron doesnt rise? Ive always had very good iron levels til now im 27weeks3days with twins.
Avatar n tn I know many people who suffer from hypoglycemia, and some who even will completely pass out if glucose gets low. That is rare, for in most cases, the person feels crummy for a while, but the body eventually regulates the sugar levels. During a hypo episode (as a type 1 diabetic, of course I have occasionally overdosed by accident when my insulin didn't properly match the food carbs I ate), the eyes feel dry and vision CAN change temporarily.
Avatar f tn The most common cause of small fibre peripheral neuropathy listed is diabetes or glucose intolerance. I have permanent nerve damage from B12 deficiency and insulin resistance/impaired glucose tolerance. I've never had abnormal fasting glucose levels but my glucose went too high however after I drank a glass of glucose (2 hour oral glucose tolerance test - OGTT) which showed I had impaired glucose tolerance.
Avatar n tn They deliberately set my glucose goals so low that I actually passed out cold about once a week from hypoglycemia. I feared for my life, but my doctors assured me that the baby's glucose levels remain constant. If the mom's glucose drops, only SHE is affected. They likened baby to a little leach, who takes just what he or she needs, leaving the mom whatever is left. As long as the breathing doesn't stop or heart doesn't stop beating, the baby is unfazed by this.
Avatar f tn For some people, Metformin can cause glucose [blood sugar] levels to drop too low [hypoglycemia]. This often times happens when Metformin is combined with other diabetes medications, and is more common in elderly folks or folks with internal organ issues. Low glucose also can happen when fasting before surgery or a blood test/s and after lengthy exercise. You should notify your doctor of your low glucose experiences ASAP. Ask your doctor how to adjust your Metformin dose if needed.
