i m 29 yrs old and , i am having frequent urination problem for 3 years,about 4 months ago,i went to pcp ,he sent me for sonogram of my kidney and bladder and also for chest x-ray,the results came out negative and my urine and blood was also fine,then i went to urologist' he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then
I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. My urologist thinks that I should see a psychiatrist. I have a bulky uterus. I was 200 lbs three years ago, now I am 125 lbs, (through diet and excercise).
My gynec told me that I have over-exercised,(walking 14 km a day).
I feel constant irritation and pressure in my bladder.
I have frequent urination (every hr) and burning urethra (sometimes when I am dehydrated) for 4 months now.I have gone thru 20 days of levo,20 days of cipro,1.5gm of azithromycin and finally Cystoscopy 5 weeks back.
The result in cystoscopy said mild chronic cystitis.I have been taken vesicare and xatral for 40 days now.I went to see the urologist again and he said he cannot pinpoint what is the root cause yet and it should clear on its own in 1-2 months.
urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis, intake of diuretics and other medications, radiation therapy or bladder dysfunction. It would really help if you consult with the urologist for further evaluation and management.

Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but urge of frequent urination can be due to increased intake of fluids or diabetes mellitus.Other possibilities are glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),urinary tract infection,hypercalcemia,hypokalemia(low potassium),hyperthyroidism,hyperparathyroidism,diuretic drugs and benign hyperplasia of the prostate(in elderly males).
A neurologic problem, hormonal disorders, pituitary gland problems, a urinary tract infection, increase intake of fluids and certain medications. Certain tests may need to be done to have these differentials excluded. A baseline urinalysis and urine culture, urodynamic studies, and CT scan of the kidney, ureter and bladder may help.
I suggest a consult with a urologist to at least rule out an underlying urinary tract infection.
s. My only symptoms at this time was frequent urination and penile discomfort (on/off), no discharge. I had to wait to see my urologist so in the mean time I took Cipro I had on hand that my urologist gave to me incase I had any flare ups. That helped immensely but by the 10th day I experienced some horrible side effects and stopped.
I have been experiencing frequent urination for the past 2 months. I do not experience any other symptoms. I do not have any burning or pain. I just feel the urge to urinate every 1-2 hours. There are many things that can cause frequent urination and a urologist is the one to help you rule out what is causing your symptoms etc. You could just have an over active bladder and they have several medications for that.
It also could be chronic cystitis or interstitial cystitis. With these you usually have pelvic pain too. The self help things etc. can help you while you see a diagnosis!
I suffer from frequent urination between 2am and 6 in the morning. This happens every half hour, lots of urine, no burning, no pain.I have had blood tests, cystoscopy and an IVP done, all came back negative. I don;t drink a lot since i never get thirsty, a cup of tea in the morning and a glass of water for my blood pressure tablets. I'm not swollen but 2yrs ago i had a back op for a pinched nerve, could this be the cause? Please help!
Sometimes, autonomic problems (especially with the nerves innervating the bladder) can cause these frequent urination. Autonomic problems can arise from a primary neurologic condition, or spinal compression problems. There is also a condition called "spastic" bladder where the bladder cannot hold on much urine and discharges at very low urine volume. This is also a neurologic problem. Frequent urination is taking over my life. I get nerous when I'm out and don't know where the nearest bathroom is. I don't go to the movies because I can't sit throught a 2 hour movie without going to the bathroom once or twice...If I have a doctor appointment I get there early so I can go to the bathroom a couple of time before I see the doctor.My doctor said it's not a prostate problem it's a bladder problem. I get to urinate 5/6 times a night.

From last one and half month I am suffering from problem of frequent urination (a urination after very five minutes). I visited the clinic and performed urine tests several times. Every time doctor told me that your results are normal. He performed a blood test for prostate, it also came normal. I took a course of ciprofloxacin and then doxycycline. Nothing worked.
