Avatar f tn Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Pain in the lower abdomen, pelvis can be due to infection, pelvic inflammatory disease, UTI, STD, uterine fibroids, urinary bladder infection or cystitis. If you do not have any discharge and there is no other symptom then it can also be due to pinched nerve (either pudendal or spinal). These conditions are broadly classified as chronic pelvic pain syndrome. The intensity of pain depends on the degree of inflammation and thus compression. This can vary.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2006 and my symptoms were similar to your symptoms. You should get a second opinion.
Avatar n tn Hi, Ulcerative colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease . Ulcerative colitis is a form of colitis, a disease of the colon , that includes characteristic ulcers, or open sores. The main symptom of active disease is usually constant diarrhea mixed with blood, of gradual onset. IBD is often confused with irritable bowel syndrome , a troublesome, but much less serious, condition.
Avatar f tn Inflammatory diseases of the colon which can present as UC include Crohn’s disease, ischemic colitis, radiation colitis, eosinophilic colitis, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and allergic reactions to medications such as mesalamine products, NSAIDs, and antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I have my husband (age 24 yrs) with colitis infection just detected in December 2007 and now completely leading anormal life. Can i get infected with the Ulcerative colitis if we have unprotected sex ?
Avatar m tn You could be suffering from an inflammatory bowel condition such as Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome/ Crohn’s disease. Parasites in the gut like threadworm, tape worm, giardiasis etc can behave this way. Hence a stool test is a must. Problems of gall bladder and liver or that of pancreas too cannot be ignored and should be investigated. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system).
Avatar m tn I read through your post very carefully and based on that I feel that you are possibly suffering from Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome. These are inflammatory diseases hence the white blood cell count can increase. All these result in tender abdomen, loose stool or loose stools alternating with constipation, gas, abdominal distention, cramps etc.
Avatar f tn s after being on steroids for years for ulcerative colitis and having a doctor who did not monitor him. He was having symptoms for quite some time (constantly thirsty and frequent urination), but the doctor told him that he was just experiencing side effects from the steroids. He ended up in the hospital with extremely high blood glucose. My question is...
Avatar n tn Could be an inflammatory colitis like an Ulcerative Colitis or a Crohns disease. Could be just inflammation of the rectum. Could be bad hemmorhoids although the fact that his stool is loose points to probably more than that, like a colitis. Could be an infection that is causing the bloody loose stools. Could be cancer, although unlikely given his age that's probably the most unlikely reason.
4652866 tn?1373428175 Hay mommy! Luckily I came across this post cus I have ulcerative colitis as well. I was diagnosed in 2010 at tha age of 19. There's really no say soo of where this disease comes from but it isn't curable & can be managed with meds. I've been on Asacol but was taken off due to it causing me hairloss. I'm now on sulfasalazine but luckily I've been in remission tha past yr & a half.

But literally I am not eating any spicy food or fibre food. I want to know the diet plan.I really lost weight. I have a new problem past 2 weeks. Every morning around 6.30 am or so i have a contracting pain in my lower left ribs. It's very stabbing and also I have lower back pain.

Avatar n tn i have had ulcerative colitis for the past 3.5 years is it normal to bleed when i have my bowels open?
Avatar n tn I was told before that they "think" that I have ulcerative colitis. I was put on medication. But after it stopped helping, I stopped taking it, and I was fine. Then just recently I have been feeling horrible. Stomach pain, mostly on the right lower region, gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. I am not pregnant ( that I know of, I have an IUD) And this has been going on for 3 weeks, non stop.
Avatar f tn I have GERT and a weak valve in my esophagus, so I am not well informed with knowledge on ulcerative colitis, however, I can give to you a government website that provides information on all digestive disorders /diseases from A to Z. Go to http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov. On the upcoming webpage, look for link on Digestion, and click. The next page lists the digestive disorders/diseases. Scroll down the list until you find UC.
Avatar f tn Those are symptoms of ulcerative colitis and it doesn't have to hurt to be serious. You really need to get to the doctor and have this investigated.
Avatar n tn I think I have ulcerative Colitis. My stomach usually hurts and I have to go the bathroom frequently throughout the day. A lot of times I suffer from fecal incontinence where i will go back to the bathroom like a half hour after I eat and I will wipe and there will be something on the toilet paper. I do not know what to do. Also, sometimes when i look at my stool there is like a red flake or something, can that be blood? Can blood show up in the form of a flake.
Avatar f tn Recently doctor gave me tetracycline oilment to apply on my anus and when the oilment went into the opening I felt sharp pain. Will topical oilement cause ulcerative colitis due to irritants inside the lining of the anus?
