Common Questions and Answers about Flonase vs allegra

flovent

Avatar n tn (sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
Avatar f tn ve tried 3 different antibiotics for sinus infection. Also tried flonase, allegra, and Sudafed. Nothing seems to help. I feel pressure mostly in my forehead. I don't have any congestion with mucus or anything. I've had a sinus x-ray, CT scan, and MRI, which were all fine and showed nothing wrong with sinuses. I usually clean my ears out with a q tip after showering. I used to get some wax out, however, after this started, I can't get any wax out.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar f tn First let me start that I have bad anxiety. Second I recently had thyroid biopsy and was told I have a "suspicious' 5mm nodule. But prior to that - for past few weeks I've had nonstop post nasal drip. Now my jaws top and bottom get achy at times and It sometimes travels down my neck. My throat feels irritated and when I eat it feels like a lump or tight. The thyroid is not causing this. I started Flonase a few days ago and Allegra.
Avatar f tn I have many allergies and am on Allegra, Flonase, and Singulair. I try to keep my sugar intake to a minimum but when I'm in a flare-up, sugary things seem to be what my body craves, especially when I'm in "fibro-fog".
2114467 tn?1358210256 i'm curious if it is ok to use flonase. also, is benadryl ok to use. I just finished using my netti pot for nasal allergies. I'm trying to be careful about drug interaction; I haven't started the boc yet.
Avatar n tn I have also been having vertigo issues for the past nine months or so. Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth.
Avatar m tn ve tried relatively everything and seen many doctors. Flonase and allegra seem to help most in combination, but the effect is minimal. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I do have allergies, and the pollen count is fairly high, so that may be the cause. I am taking Allegra 180mg daily, along with Flonase 60mg daily to help with my allergies. After checking my throat about an hour after seeing the swelling, I noticed that it didn't look as swollen as before. I was at a football game last night, and I was yelling, so that my play a part in this as well. Does anybody know what this could be?
Avatar f tn The dr prescribed Allegra, singular, Flonase and Asteleine nasal sprays. I am not having any relief. I was on the Asteline sir 2. -3 weeks now and the other 3 meds I just started. 2 weeks ago I had a ctscan and it didn’t show an infection. My teeth didn’t hurt then just had a headache and pressure. About a week ago my teeth started hurting and my dr will not prescribe me an antibiotic. Will the meds that I’m on cure a sinus i ection if I have one??? I can’t take this pain anymore.
Avatar f tn I recently developed a cough that contains a bright green mucous. I was diagnosed with a sinus infectiona couple weeks ago and prescribed doxycyline and a z pack. I started feeling better so I stopped taking the antibiotic. I then began to develop fluid in my ears and a stuffy nose. I took a decongestant and stopped taking my daily allegra. I seemed to feel better for a few.days. I've never had a fever or headache with any of this.
345124 tn?1234483278 i finally saw a doctor today after a year of sinus and eustachian tube symptoms and off and on dizziness. mostly it was the spooky dizziness that made me want to see a doctor.
865758 tn?1285952904 t have any known allergies but know that i have allergies i take bendyrol to much it i wanna stop takin it, i was on a heart montior for 1 month an said that it was sinus tachcardia they have given me flonase nasal spray but that didn't help what did work was univert pills which settled my heart rate down to a healthy level but was told that was for a ear infection i did have vertigo but i think swimming had an impact on that i still have the increased heart rate.
Avatar m tn My wife's mom is staying with us. She's from Thailand and she's in her 60s. She's constantly sniffling and coughing. First I thought it was allergies so I bought her some Allegra. Didn't really help much. My friend is a doctor so he thought it was post nasal drip, without seeing her he had her try Flonase. It seemed like she could be on extending non-coughing periods but she still does it.
Avatar f tn Try Flonase every night before bed and take Claritin or Allegra in morning everyday. It worked for me if I go a day without it I get pain. I don't get headaches anymore.
Avatar f tn And nothing, nothing has stopped my sinuses from draining into my lungs. Allegra, zyrtec, claritin, flonase, ipratropium, ranitidine, azelastine, prednisone, azelastine, clarithromyc, ventolin, montelukast, azithromycin, clindamycin, methylpred, cefdinir, omeprazole, arnuity.
1663704 tn?1302912377 I have had fluid behind my eardrum since September 2010. My physician looked and saw fluid behind my eardrum and said it's caused from allergies or sinuses. I do have allergies and postnasal drainage. I was prescribed Flonase for 30 days, which didn't work, then prescribed a 7 day steroid medication, this didn't help either. I have tried Allegra D, Mucinex D, Mucinex, Sudafed, Sudafed PE, Afrin, etc. I am currently trying Zyrtec.
Avatar m tn You can try taking a newer generation antihistamine such as Allegra or Zyrtec every day for 3 weeks straight and see if it improves. If it does, you have a good idea of what's going on. Then, you have to figure out what you are allergic to in your environment.
Avatar n tn I accidentally took an additional Allegra-D 24 hour the day this all began. In addition, I was taking Flonase at the same time. I'm wondering if this could have been the problem causing a constriction in the bladder. FYI, I still have tingling in the urethra and minor pain in the testicles but without discharge.
Avatar n tn I asked my pharmacist today because I have the same allergy issues - je said Lortadine OTC is perfectly safe (Claritin) just NO Sudafed or Psuedaphedrine (Claritin D or Allegra D). He also said my Flonase is safe. I take both on bad days, but I also diffuse OnGuard Essential Oil which helps tremendously as well. Hope that helps you!
Avatar n tn You should get a nasal steroid such a Flonase or Nasacort and start using it a month or so before the allergy season starts. These are prescription medications but Flonase is now generic so it should be cheaper now. It really works great.
Avatar f tn I take a lot of medication. Singulair, Advair, Flonase, and Allegra. When I get a sinus headache I also take Allegra D. I started getting allergy shots too. Im allergic to mold too. Have someone clean it or remove it if possible (within your financial means).Wear a mask when you have to be around it. All of this is extreme and a lot of work. I am a mother of two, my sweetheart works 7 days a week, I don't have much help either.
Avatar f tn I am a 37 yo female with no serious illness, aside from severe allergies (taking Allegra D & Flonase) and just recently had a 'thyroid storm' (taking Levoxyl). Have always had low or normal blood pressure except for twice related to pregnancy. 11 years ago, pre-eclampsia during last 8 weeks with BP ranging 135/99 to 147/131, headaches and protein in urine. On bed rest, diuretic meds and lots of testing, bp kept getting higher, so delivered by c-section 1 week early.
Avatar n tn I am fifty post menaposal, I take flonase and zertec, I was on allegra but changed. I was prescribed these medications. I check my bood pressure and I have No blood sugar issues last time I checked which was my annual.
Avatar f tn nasonex, afrin, mucinex-d, claritin, allegra, zyrtec, flonase, etc. Another ENT thought it was acid reflux. I tried: prilosec for 14 days, nexium for 3 days (I had too many side effects from nexium so I discontinued it). I had no symptoms of acid reflux so I felt there was no point to take these meds, but I tried anyway with no success. I got a CT scan and they found there was a cyst in my left maxillary sinus and mucus thickening in the ethmoid on the same side.
Avatar n tn Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too. Common side effects of Nasonex are fatigue, headaches, a lowered immune system (not good) and others too. A few people I know who have used this for a year or more mentioned that they got palpitations, and one friend said his PVCs increased. But one can't be sure whether the PVCs increased because of the Nasonex.
