1580703 tn?1651904887 However it has been reported that treatment with FLOMAX capsules for up to 12 months had no significant effect on prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and does not effect prostate. It effect the vision and may cause blurred vision but that is found in only 0.2- 2% of the patients. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn On follow up two weeks later my vision had not resolved (blurred) and the surgeon advised that there was an inflamation which he hoped would go away with heavy application of Maxidex eye drops. It did not and on subsequent examination he advised that the vitreous gel was seeping around the lens and obscuring the pupil. He said that the lens was correctly located and the capsule intact.
Avatar n tn I've taken flomax for several years, and want to undergo cataract surgery. What should I expect? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/224322'>Cataract surgery and Flomax</a>.
Avatar n tn s from the Flomax my husband takes and that it will take longer for his vision to clear.(the Dr. was aware of the flomax before surg.) What has been your experience with this troublesome outcome? My husband is very discouraged.
Avatar m tn Flomax can cause "floppy iris syndrome" (FIS). A small percentage of people on Flomax and a much much smaller % of people that were on Flomax in the past but not on it now have FIS. FIS can make surgery, usually cataract, more difficult as the pupil does not stay dilated. However FIS is now widely recognized and special techniques have been devised to deal with the floppy, contracting iris.
Avatar m tn The doctor started me on Flomax, but after four days I had to stop. I was dizzy, disoriented, and my vision blurred. Even walking was difficult. My doctor says that my stone problem is due to insufficient emptying of the bladder although, to my knowledge, either from x-ray or my feeling their passage, the stones have originated in my kidneys. He is advising me to have a procedure called a TURP, which sounds pretty unpleasant.
Avatar f tn I stopped, and when the urinary issues seemed to be more problematic again, I returned to the added Flomax, and immediately discovered the same lack of semen and abdominal pain (during the 2 months not taking Flomax, ejaculatory function returned to normal). My question (after all that build up) is are any other men here on Flomax combined with Detrol LA? And, if so, has anyone had the same experiences that I previously explained?
Avatar m tn Saw my primary MD today. He said that the Flomax relaxes muscles in the bladder and prostate, and the Avodart shrinks the prostate. He said that after a year or so, if the prostate has gone down and reduced the problems, they like to eliminate the Flomax, as it is no longer necessary. Long story short, I now have a prescription for Avodart alone. I realize that it may not reduce the surgery risk, but one less drug is a good thing.
Avatar f tn It did actually relieve a little of my joint pain, but I still had other numerous problems, blurred vision, migraines, IBS, pins and needles, and chronic fatigue. Then an LLMD diagnosed me via IGENIX and CD 57 test and I have Lymes. So I can't really say the medicine gave me those problems because LYMES does too. All I can say is that it may make you a little nauseous in the beginning and to get regular eye exams (mine were normal). Good luck!
Avatar n tn You definitely need to talk to your doctor. Blurred vision is not a side effect I'm aware of, but that doesn't mean that isn't what it is. It could also be a symptom of anxiety. There are two common symptoms of anxiety called "depersonalization" and "derealization" that can cause the impression of having blurred vision. You can do some searching here about those symptoms, to see if maybe that is a possibility.
Avatar f tn Other than my glasses prescription there isnt anything wrong with my eyes that cause my blurred and double vision and visual snow.... Avatar f tn Blurred vision and lightening type floaters that appeared and also one time recently in boat it appeared as if the floor of the boat and walls of the boat were moving. It looked like moving mud. I have gone to eye dr and basically said I need reading glasses. I also then went to dr for 3 dizzy spells and basically said it was vertigo but heard a carotid bruit and sent me for ultrasound which in turn was normal.

Avatar f tn t handle the therapy and work in same day. Then 29 days later (while working part time and going to vision therapy) the blurred vision came back and lasted a little less than 2 wks. Been out of work since then and plan to go back after the therapy is done. Nobody has ever heard of this kind of severe eye strain. I'm doing everything I can but I have no real answers and I'm scared of loosing my job. Help.
Avatar f tn 2nd shot last night, but 2 times i have gotten cloudy or blurred vision, it comes and goes... anyone have any input before i start going into alot of drama? (lol).
6838479 tn?1390502941 Same thing happened to me. Could be a sign of gestational diabetes . My sugar was low that day so I got a migraine with blurred vision. I don't have diabetes but eating regularly and healthy seemed to have help.
498375 tn?1212265416 About 3 months into tx my good right eye got a lot of floaters (annoying) and my vision also got a little blurry. It is now 8 weeks post tx and the blurry vision is either gone or i am used to it. I still have the floaters though. One thing I have noticed lately is my eyes used to get very dry. It seemed that bright lights and watching TV really bothered them. It caused a very dry or burning sensation. That doesn't happen anymore.
Avatar n tn I had cataract surgery on jan. 21, and since then i had this terrible glare and i feel that i have to wear dark glasses even at home. I told my doctor , he evaded my concern and repeated that all is well in my eye, the lens placement is perfect and the incision is healing . I felt like an idiot and thought that my problem must be psycological. this morning God sent me to this forum to discover that i am not crazy .
Avatar m tn Initially, it started off as double vision and within a week became blurred. Her vision has further deteriorated in this time, with the eyes becoming cross-eyed, and where she was initially able to read, she can no longer see text unless the letter is the size of an A4 sheet of paper.
Avatar f tn A YAG iridotomy will not worsen his cataract, but will open the anterior chamber angle and prevent a sudden attack of angle closure glaucoma. If the cataract is significantly affecting your father's vision, then removal of the cataract will also open the angle and improve vision as well. If he has the cataract surgery, he will not need the laser iridotomy.
Avatar f tn before pregnancy I had great vision and now it's hard to focus on anything without it being blurry. Will my vision go back to normal after baby?
Avatar m tn just that one symptom of blurred vision when trying to read or focus. This has happened in the past and it went away after several days. What could this possibly be and should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn However I still have confusion because when the nurse called to schedule my left eye this Thursday and I expressed my concerns she said many people said their first eye never got better till they did the second one because of the eyes trying to compensate for each other. My vision is now 20/20 after surgery and 20/40 in the one without. How have people managed their sight in the past?
Avatar m tn This is my third week after doc said I was diabetic and changed eating patterns and began walking twice daily for 20 minutes. Also put on metforim at 1000 mg a day. I am on day 5 with blurred vision. My doc says it should clear up in a week and is caused from my body adjusting to lower blood levels. Any thoughts on this? This blurry vision is scaring me. It is horrible and I must use my strong reading glasses everywhere I go. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have blurred vision and light sensitivity about 80% of the time. Sometimes dizziness. Occasional headaches. But not often. Sometimes I have pain in the head that lasts 5 minutes and then goes away. It then might return somewhere else in the head for another short span. Most of the pain I do have is around the eyes. Closing my eyes for a period of time always gives relief.
