Common Questions and Answers about Fingernail problems psoriasis

nail

my sister has psoriasis bad on her skin but not her nails and she mentioned one day that it could be nail psoriasis so i looked it up and i think thats what it is. but its so painful and before i got pregnant they were a little discolored but since i've gotten pregnant they have gotten so bad and they just really hurt. and i can't clip them too much because it hurts to.
Your best bet for those, and the nails, would be to try to secure a definitive diagnosis from a dermatologist, because other skin conditions can mimic psoriasis and be unresponsive to psoriasis therapy. What you describe, while it involves skin, nails and vagina does not suggest any kind of systemic immunodeficiency disease that might predispose one to infection and I believe should be approached as separate health problems. Good luck.
I'm not really sure if it's a rash or not. I started having problems about a month and a half ago, maybe two months. My whole thoughts were that my wife and I were too rough during intercourse, but then it didn't go away. My wife is 5 months pregnant. At first, I had two small patches of what I assume is a rash on either side of the base of my penis. Maybe the size of an index fingernail on both sides. They don't hurt, itch, or really do anything. They are just kinda red and there.
I was at the car park and the vallet brought me my car keys. While he was delivering me the keys his fingernail touched the place my fingernail meets my thumb. It was just a blink of the eye long touch. I have psoriasis (you may follow my previous questions to the expert forum about previous psoriasis issues) and at the time of the touch, it was a bit irritated with no open wounds or bleeding. Just red. I didnt see if the guy's fingernails had any sort of blood or not.
Hope your psoriasis clears up. My daughter has it so I can understand the problems and fustration. AKhepper. I'm on week 47 and my sx were much worse for month 10 and 11. This week they finally seem better. I didn't have any in the beginning and then mild ones so I was surprised. Hope you feel better.
Low libido, loss of sex drive, hypogonadism, irregular periods, or cessation (stopping periods), or early menopause... Skin problems, dry skin, rashes that come and go, psoriasis, rosacea, fingernail or toe ridges vertically or horizontally... Anemia, iron deficiency... Prostate problems... Incontinence... Nausea, vomiting, fevers that come and go... Abnormal and elevated liver enzymes that stay elevated for no reason that can be attributed to other disease, alcohol, or hepatitis...
Fungus is unlikely, because for unknown reasons fungus affects only one hand at a time, in most cases. Eczema, psoriasis, and skin problems associated with arthritic conditions are all on the possible list. Diagnosis depends on appearance and the presence or absence of other symptoms in the skin or elsewhere. I recommend setting up an appointment for a second opinion and inquiring about a cancellation list to get seen sooner.
fingernail hold alot of clues as to many conditions - its not necessarily treatment related http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/features/healthy-fingernails-clues-about-health?
The blisters would eventually pop and there was a clear, sticky fluid that came out. Prior to going vegetarian I had no skin problems at all. When I turned vegetarian - aside from cutting out meat - I made a number of changes to my diet.
Months 2-6 of tx had ongoing itching, among, obviously, many more problems. As stated, itching mitigated by fingernail pressing on the exact spot for 30 seconds. Rash origination was from broader areas that were itched by mistake. Tree Tea Oil (TTO) fixed those "dramatically". In fact, I have had a quarter size red elevated area that periodically itched on my back, sometimes erupted (Dermatologist said not serious.) which lasted 7 months.
Hi Karen, What your are discribing sounds like Eczema which may be that you are allegic to some home Products that you are using. If you are using Gloves of any kind, don't as it overheat your skin, burns the vitamin E and dries your skin to a point where your skin will loose it flexibility and its looks also it may make it itchy. For a chance, you must go to Totally Natural Body & Home Care Products and than, you will see what a change it will make in you life.
During my 2nd visit I was persistant for a name, to be given a diagnoses, and I was given one. A combination of Eczema/Psoriasis is what she said. After many more visits the diagnosis changed to Pustular Psoriasis. None of the treatment plans we tried have worked to keep it under control. So its like a cycle of getting better and breaking out again. This is the 1stce I was young that these little blisters changed my skin to hard, scaly, thick skin everywhere they are, except my legs.
It gave me vaginititis, gastritis and problems with my intestines. Now i am having nerve problems and many other problems. Drs. don't have a clue how to help me. Everyday is hard to get thru. Now to hear it will take up to two years. God help us. I i to had all those test and there are a few areas of concern but not all of those are systems are related to the keflex.I have not had any of my problems until i took the keflex. Please be careful with this drug.
OMG I am so relieved I have found people who have the same thing as me!!! Mine first appeared in January and we couldnt get an appointment at the dermatologist coz theyre all so busy.It was first a coin sized thing right below my nostril that was red and very sensitive, it would then kind of get white wrinkly flakes, burn and itch like crazy, I cant put makeup on or any cream or it gets worse.
I scratch them so much that I have fingernail marks all over my legs and sometimes even brusies. This causes my legs to look horrible. I'm so ashamed that I won't wear dresses or shorts. I haven't been to the doctor yet just because everything I have read hasn't given me much hope on a clear diagnosis. This has been an ongoing problem usually I have the severe itching for a few months then it will go away and out of the blue will appear again.
A biopsy is different from a culture in an apropriate media. For myself, It's hard to believe that after 50 yrs of having no skin problems something just shows up due to ? and because of being in a particular area and spreading down the thumb slowly I tend to think is some bug rather than stress. I am trying and learning whatever I can.
I never had these kind of problems till the tube was put into my ear, thats why i found the allergy thing interesting.. Maybe im allergic to something in the tube.. Oh, and its also my left ear.. No problems with my right ear at all that has NO tube in it.. Anyone else have a tube in the ear that is the problem ear??
I too am overweight and have problems with an odor from my belly button along with a slight liquid sometimes. It does seem weight is a common denominator...interesting. I also have a lot of female problems and noticed some others of you do as well so it makes me wonder if its connected. It is nice to know there are others who share this disturbing problem!! Thanks girls.
They look like cat or thorn scratches that are 2-3 days old. But they're new. I've never suffered from dry skin or any other skin problems. I have 4 right now. Though they're sometimes weeks old, and like I said, they appear partially healed, they are really slow to actually heal. I have some that are two weeks old and look no different than when I first noticed. Anyone believe in abduction theories?
any chance these problems occur after sex? Blisters could also be a sign of some type of dermatitis/allergy to condoms, foam, i've even heard where women develop a sensitivity to semen. Personally, I had one occurance w/a lambskin condom that caused vaginal itching, burning and swelling. Also tampons, bath soap douches can cause reactions as well. I cant use odor-absorbing tampons either..they casu itching/burning..I am also fair-complected and have sensitive skin.
Since I was a child I have had ear problems but over the past few years I have had increasingly maddening ear problems. I have used drops and anti biotics. I sense relief then the symptoms return. Most days I can hear but am constantly aware that my ears are itchy. The challenge is to not itch. If I itch, I usually get flaky stuff that I literally can lift off my inner ear.If I itch too much it becomes wet and begins draining a wet clear fluid.
I didn't take the Xanex because I want to give this therapy a chance to work. I have looked up Levator Spasms on Google but can only find information about problems with the rectum. I hope gives all of you some new direction in finding a solution to this problem.
Because when a person wears contact lens and has problems with redness, irriation, watering, sensitivity to light, foreign body sensation, discharge 90% plus its the contacts that is causing the problem.
A group of us with MS autoimmune problems all share the same lab results. I have worked out we have all been exposed with either toxins or pesticides one time or other. Arsenic is a real problem it can cause debetus. We all need to live a toxic free lifestyle which is difficult given that benzene is in so many products. This subject is so important to make people aware, thanks for bringing up the subject.
They usually don't move so you think they're just specks of dirt except if you disturb them, they will actually hop. You can see them on your white sheets. Disturb them with your fingernail and watch them hop. Lastly, I know it's difficult to sleep and you feel like you're losing your mind and you may even have thoughts of suicide, please know that there is an end to this and by all means be very careful about taking any prescription sleepaids. Addictive!!!!
I tried taking daily b-complex vitamin shots for months with no deterrence to the gnats whatsoever. I have no blood sugar problems, low blood pressure and a very low heart rate which I understand is common to rh negative blood types, which I think is what the gnats are attracted to, just my hunch, as I could be standing with 10 people and all the gnats are above my head. I use lots of Deet, so if it's poisonous, I should be dead, but am one of the healthiest people I know.
Now I wonder if the hormone fluctuations that lead to the many migraines and issues I had w/ birth control previously could be a new issue with the change in hormones and the itchy labia problems I am currently having. Ladies, did your issues below occur with a birth control change, birth, menopause, hormone altering medication? Just trying to narrow and figure these things out and be well equipped when I head to dr.
I am also going to print out this forum so she can see all of you share the same problems. I was wondering if any of you have any other skin irritations on any other part of your body Other than your vaginal area?? I have the same irritation on my hand but not as bad as the vaginal area. The cream does work it just comes back a couple of weeks later...I am going to try and get an anti fungal pill to see if that works...
