hi please could some1 help me asap ive had the injections for trigger finger and on the 9th of april this year i had the operation ((worst mistake of my life)) now i have a swollen hand my fingers r swollen and im in alot of pain i get bad cramp in my fingers my partner has to massage my hand and help me with alot of things as my hand feels so weak i cant even write a line on a piece of paper without stopping for a break sometimes i cant move my fingers n i get pain from my hand upto my elbow

He was taken in off the streets, treated for the parasites, and ended up having the leg amputated. Recovery took time, but he healed and adjusted to the leg amputation amazingly. In fact there wasn't anything he couldn't do that the other 3 kitties with 4 legs in the house couldn't do. He survived another 14 years happily and crazy as a kitten.

First, I understand your frustration. Before I found out what my first trigger finger was, I was fully prepared to request amputation because it was making my entire hand useless. I've had 3 surgeries over the past 2 years, freeing 4 fingers and removing a ganglion cyst from one. Did your surgeon send you to physical therapy? You need to keep moving your hands and fingers, despite the pain. Scar tissue (adhesions) starts to form a couple of months out from the surgery.

Several years ago I was indirectly struck by lightning on my finger. Ever since I have had severe nerve pain. Cold is simply unbearable let alone if I hit my finger on anything. I have been to several doctors and NO one can help me. I have even attempted accupuncture to no avail. I am currenty taking Lyrica, which helps a little, but not much. I have tried topicals as well. I am to the point where I just want my finger amputated. The pain is just too much!! Any suggestions?

Having toe amputation in two weeks. Anyone know about balance,recoverytime,walking,reehab...Anything. I'M having no success finding info.

I have had no surgery at all during my life besides some minor when I was a young teenager (amputation - nothing to do with internal issues). I wonder if there is any real reason to submit my body to this kind of trauma yet (knowing that it may become necessary at some point). I am not particularly afraid of the surgery nor the results, after reading here - but only if this surgery is really necessary.

I have been diagnosed with herpes whitlow in my right ring finger...it is a very insidius disease as it is prone to secondary infections and is very costly due to loss of work and topical and oral treatments.Today I start suppression therapy on Valtrex and Zovirax cream if needed.In the last two years I've had at least ten outbreaks and it is really getting me down. Is there any new treatments being researched for this disease?

How is your husbands' finger? I also had a glomus tumor on my left ring finger just under the nail bed. I had it removed by surgery and it has now grown back. I was told that this tumor is very had to get completely since it is made up of a bundle of nerves and that there was a possibility that is could grow back. It is now more painful than ever. I bumped it just this weekend on a drawer handle and almost lost it.

Hello! I hope you get a reply for I am going through the same thing with my 70+ yr old Dad! Told he won't live through amputation so he said don't bother but the gangrene in one area is spreading so quickly! Other areas are dry but I am thinking this is wet! It is getting worse everyday! He has dry gangrene that hasn't changed at all! Hospice is involved now....the Hospice nurse hasn't given you any idea? I am told that sepsis is a possibility....

I am looking to find a t-shirt that will fit my dog following a front leg amputation. The sites I've found don't have sizes large enough for my dog, (a big Chesapeake, just under 100 lbs). Any ideas?

My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!

I would say it would be a good idea to check it out, you may need a tetanus shot and it sounds like it is infected, put some OTC anti biotic cream on a band aid on it till you can get it checked out, Good Luck

Hi, my chinchilla, Screetch, had an emergency amputation of his right hind leg approximately one week ago. He remained in vet care until three days after the surgery. He came home with antibiotics and needing to be force fed. My question is two fold. First, will i need to supplement "good" bacteria, to replace those destroyed by the antibiotics?

I recently visited an infectious disease specialist to get some answers and he said the only way is to have some kind of trauma for the hands and other non-traditional herpes areas to be infected. He had me look up herpes gladiatorum. Other than the he said no.

We rescued a german shephard puppy that needed a right front leg amputation from the knee down. That was three months ago on Aug 17th. He is now 7 months old and the wound is still not healed. About 6 days after surgery the wound burst open, had aslight infection. We cleaned it up got him on atibiotics and the wound was left open to drain. The wound then ulcerated to pretty good size. It has slowly since granulated some but it's still wide open. The outside edges of skin are white and hard.

Our dog has an amputation scheduled for her front right leg, due to bone cancer. Went to see an oral surgeon 3 months ago about a problem that had nothing to do with the root amputation he did on a tooth in my mouth that was part of a fixed bridge. He said I had an infection and he suggested that a root amputation be performed. He removed bone and gum tissue an amputated the root. 3 months later it still aches in the area he worked on. Went back to see him he took new x-rays saw no infection and said he didn't know why it is still aching.

The pain feels as if something pricked inside- to be definite a sharp shooting pain, without any trauma and it leaves behind redness but goes off in some minutes.It started with my ring finger now happened to my middle finger. I am afraid what could be the reason ?

When I am doing every day things with my hands I will sometimes get a sudden sharp pain, sometimes in the palm of my hand, sometimes the finger or finger tips. It will then be very tender to pressure for several days. This pain is not happening in any joints. For instance, this morning while doing a clasp on my clothes this happened in the middle of the pad of my thumb. It hurts now when there is pressure applied, but it is quite painful and takes my breath away. There is no bruise or swelling.

my gf was diagnosed today with a skin cancer under the pinky finer , under the nail. it has eat away at the bone and she is facing partial amputation....

Please don't type in all Caps, that is akin to shouting on the Internet. You should get a second opinion from another doctor at another hospital. Its highly unusual to diagnose foot amputation one day after toes were amputated. Something is not right with this surgeon's diagnosis.

Thank you for responding. but root amputation! I'm not gona lie that sounds scary! would you explain that a bit? Is it done out side of the mouth?
