I would say it would be a good idea to check it out, you may need a tetanus shot and it sounds like it is infected, put some OTC anti biotic cream on a band aid on it till you can get it checked out, Good Luck
Several years ago I was indirectly struck by lightning on my finger. Ever since I have had severe nerve pain. Cold is simply unbearable let alone if I hit my finger on anything. I have been to several doctors and NO one can help me. I have even attempted accupuncture to no avail. I am currenty taking Lyrica, which helps a little, but not much. I have tried topicals as well. I am to the point where I just want my finger amputated. The pain is just too much!! Any suggestions?
My first symptom was a small red spot on the bottom of my big toe. The podiatrist told
me to just put skin cream on it and it Not so much. In about 4 to 6 months i went
from red spot to amputation. Please go see a podiatrist or your sugar dr NOW. Keep your sugar in check very tightly and don't let the drs blow you off. If the first one doesn't

I start to worry again. where does the blood come from??? If other affected people's blood drop touch my fresh wound, would I be affected??? I don't touch any people after the test, I started to worry about the door handles, and some other things. I just think up some worst cases and lot of " what if " question.
This is my second attempt to post. The first attempt is nowhere to be found. Two weeks after double mastectomy and reconstruction with expanders, I have developed terrible hyper sensitive skin under arms and chest. Clothes are unbearable. The doctors make light of it, saying it "shound go away." When? I was never warned about this. It is debillating. Is this a normal reaction to cut nerves, and how long will it take to subside? Someone recommened Gabapentin.
Beckett had his first vet appointment today. I wanted him seen ASAP because of the broken rear leg. The x-rays showed that the injury was about a month old and that it was already healed. It wasn't just a little break but the femur was actually snapped off. In order to fix it, they'd have to do a surgery that costs over $1500. Or... amputation (around $450- including pain meds).
My question is--- do we HAVE to do anything?

on Tuesday i was working on a car and i had gotten a cut on my finger,. i completely cleaned it and put a band aid on it. then on Friday it looked like it was healed so i didn't put a band aid back on it. later that night i was with a girl and i was fingering her with the finger that had the healed cut and did not realize it untill later on.

When I rubbed my middle finger and pinky together I felt a lump. I touched it hurts and itch. Please tell me what it is and how can I cure it.
I put a band-aid on it just in case. Anyway, I took the band aid off about 6 hrs later to see how it was progressing, and it looked the same, except now it feels hotter to the touch and itchier if I touch it. If I go a while without touching it, it gets less itchy. No sores or anything like that. And absolutely no pain, even when pressed.
Am I overreacting? I'm just concerned because I inserted a tampon this morning so I hope I didn't give myself genital herpes too.
I am looking to find a t-shirt that will fit my dog following a front leg amputation. The sites I've found don't have sizes large enough for my dog, (a big Chesapeake, just under 100 lbs). Any ideas?

I hope you get a reply for I am going through the same thing with my 70+ yr old Dad! Told he won't live through amputation so he said don't bother but the gangrene in one area is spreading so quickly! Other areas are dry but I am thinking this is wet! It is getting worse everyday! He has dry gangrene that hasn't changed at all! Hospice is involved now....the Hospice nurse hasn't given you any idea? I am told that sepsis is a possibility....
ok first things first. The knuckle above my right middle finger is swollen. This is due to me constantly hitting hard surfaces. i have no pain in that particular finger or knuckle or any part of the hand but i cant fully raise my right ring finger. It gets to about half way and i cannot raise it anymore unless i force it up with my other hand. Apart from that i have full use of my right hand and no pain in or around the knuckle or finger. Any ideas whats wrong??
Hi, my chinchilla, Screetch, had an emergency amputation of his right hind leg approximately one week ago. He remained in vet care until three days after the surgery. He came home with antibiotics and needing to be force fed. My question is two fold. First, will i need to supplement "good" bacteria, to replace those destroyed by the antibiotics?
I have been diagnosed with herpes whitlow in my right ring finger...it is a very insidius disease as it is prone to secondary infections and is very costly due to loss of work and topical and oral treatments.Today I start suppression therapy on Valtrex and Zovirax cream if needed.In the last two years I've had at least ten outbreaks and it is really getting me down.
Is there any new treatments being researched for this disease?
The blister got bigger, but I believe that to be because my ring was probably chaffing it. about three days later after just leaving it alone and covering it with a band aid, it ruptured while i was washing my hands and changing the band-aid. This was not painful and it healed fully leaving a flat smooth scab. The reason I ask about this may be crazy but, when i showed it to someone at work, thinking I must've burned myself, they said "Maybe it's herpes?
