Avatar n tn My doctor said get a scan 8 or 9 weeks as earlier you may not see anything and can freak you out
1431138 tn?1294566894 I was just wondering cause a friend of mine is 12 weeks and said they told her there were girl parts today at her ultrasound. I think that's way too early to tell so I was just wondering.
Avatar n tn I am 9 weeks pregnant (one previous miscarriage) and the baby's heart rate at today's ultrasound was only 80bpm. How concerned should i be? How accurate are heart rate readings at this stage of pregnancy? (the ultrasound was an older machine where you had to have a full bladder to see anything).
Avatar f tn The physiologic processes in early fetal development, such as protein activity, are temperature sensitive, and the entire fetal development process hinges on the right proteins getting turned on at the right time. If your body goes from 98.6 degrees to 103 degrees, it could keep the proteins from working properly and cause you to have a miscarriage.
Avatar n tn Is there any explanation for why HCG would be so high? (I miscarried twins at 9 weeks about 9 months ago, so am clearly concerned. No fertility drugs, no history of twins.) I also have a small submucosal fibroid but the baby implanted away from it this time. I will be right at my 35th b'day when this baby is (HOPEFULLY!) born. Thanks so much! This is incredibly difficult to wait.
Avatar f tn How did you get 8 weeks 3 days pregnant, and embryonic ages of 10 weeks 3 days and 9 weeks 2 days? What start point are you using when you count the 8 weeks 3 days number?
7620634 tn?1392949593 Im aldo measuring behind and they are monitoring fetal development.... (I'm 27 werks)... they don't do that for everybody..BUT since this time around I have lakes of blood in my placenta and high blood pressure (both are associated with low birth weight) they want to make sure my baby girl is growing at the rate she should be... ive measured 5 days smaller from the beginning...
Avatar n tn I saw a gestational sac with yolk sac at 5 week scan. At 6 weeks, 2 days we saw the same thing but this time there was a fetal pole with heartbeat. Maybe the sac measured large but they'll see a fetal pole at your next scan. I hope that's what happens, hopefully not a blighted ovum. Good luck.
Avatar f tn All doctors go by weeks, not months. That's how fetal development is tracked best.
Avatar m tn Depending on the quality of the machines and if you are earlier than you think, it's very possible. Some people don't see a fetal pole or heartbeat until 7,8, or 9 weeks. I didn't see any of mine until I was 7 weeks and a few days along. Have they scheduled another appointment or done blood work to see if your levels are rising? Another ultrasound would show if there's fetal development and if the pregnancy is viable or not.
Avatar f tn Normally a gestational sac with a yolk sac appears at about 5 weeks (calculated from your last missed period date) of pregnancy and can be well visualized by 6 weeks on a transvaginal (through a vagina) ultrasound (so it can be missed at 5 weeks), when you can see a fetal pole too. Fetal heart beat usually appears by 8-9 weeks. This is why it is best to repeat the scan a week or two later. At times the sac appears but there is no baby inside. This is called blighted ovum.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar n tn Choroid plexus cyst From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Choroid plexus cyst Classification and external resources ICD-10 G93.0 ICD-9 348.0 Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain.
Avatar f tn I am according to my lmp 9 weeks pregnant but the fetus is only 6 weeks. There is feeble faint heartbeat with fetal development, but doctors are concerned as the baby din show any progressive growth since last 1 week. Only the fetal pole has started showing more prominently. I am very worried. This is scary as i had a spontaneous abortion in only 5 weeks few months back. I wont be able to take a second blow. Request you to give some insight. I have been given a week to observe.
Avatar f tn i was asked to come back in two weeks for a viability scan and see if the yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat are all there. whew!!!! two weeks is too long for me to wait! i can hardly sleep now and i feel like the pregnancy symptoms are beginning to go away..i am getting paranoid i guess. HELP!
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks and I'm having a boy. Ive been admitted in the hospital on bed rest. My cervix ephased .9 and I'm dilated 2 centimeters. I've been given a fetal lung development shot to help my baby's lungs develop faster. Has anyone been through this too? I'm nervous because I'm high risk for preterm labor. Any advice?
Avatar f tn Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.
Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
Avatar f tn So I was scheduled another ultrasound today I should be 8 to 9 weeks since lmp we seen a larger sac, about 8 weeks 3 days, a shadow of a yolk sac, but nothing else. No heartbeat. No signs of a fetus or fetal pole. After the first ultrasound, I was told there was not enough development to determine viability. Again, 10 days later, same story, but sac growth. I just want to see if anyone else has dealt with something like this.
Avatar f tn s as i have had a number of miscarriages in the past, he referred me for a scan, at my scan the midwife said that there was a sac and fetal pole but she couldnt see a fetal heartbeat but also i was only measuring 5 weeks. she said that it measured 3mm and at this size she would expect to see a heart beat, got to go back into weeks but her opinion was that i would miscarry, but she could be wrong.
670260 tn?1231560840 i read the bulletins about what fetal development should be at but they all very so much from site to site that I still don't have a clear understanding. i know that probably sound nieve but I just want to make sure that I am covering all bases and that nothing goes unchecked or undetected. Thanks!
