Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development at 6 weeks

fetal-development

Avatar n tn 6 weeks may be a bit early to hear a heartbeat. Did they see a yolk sac and fetal pole? Generally heartbeats can be heard around 10 or so weeks depending how good the machine the doctors are using.
1431138 tn?1294566894 I was just wondering cause a friend of mine is 12 weeks and said they told her there were girl parts today at her ultrasound. I think that's way too early to tell so I was just wondering.
Avatar f tn im almost in the same boat as you. i had some spotting and got scared also and had a transv us at 6 weeks 5 days and only saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac in it but no fetal pole yet. i have waited 2 weeks and have to wait 6 more days for my next us.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn I believe it was just the gestational sac. Then the following week at 6 weeks 1 day, my doc saw the yolk sacs as well on both babies (twins), and saw the hearts beating on the monitor. Ultrasound at 7 weeks showed their growth progress and we heard the hearts beating via ultrasound. So don't get discouraged. Every pregancy is different. So they may see the yolk sac and a heart beat next time you go for your ultra sound. Good Luck to you.
Avatar n tn Dont' worry about the size its not way off and let baby have a chance to grow - besides our dates could be "off" up to 2weeks (don't forget ovulation and implantation time ). You saw a sac and a fetal pole and a fluttering of heartbeat - that's great news. Try to stay positive. You are experiencing pg symptoms - everyone's experience is different.
1654035 tn?1332425178 My questionn is how many of you were able to hear a heartbeat at 6 weeks. The Dr. has been preparing me for M/C for the last 3 weeks so I am really really really praying we see something today that changes his mind!!
Avatar n tn It looks like your hcg is in normal range ....if it were 80,000 at 6 weeks, then I'd be concerned, but looks like yours is in normal ranges. I, however, think it's a singleton and not a twin.
7620634 tn?1392949593 Im aldo measuring behind and they are monitoring fetal development.... (I'm 27 werks)... they don't do that for everybody..BUT since this time around I have lakes of blood in my placenta and high blood pressure (both are associated with low birth weight) they want to make sure my baby girl is growing at the rate she should be... ive measured 5 days smaller from the beginning...
Avatar f tn At my specialist appointment at 16 weeks they said baby should weigh about 3 oz, my little one was 5 1/2 oz. Your baby should be just fine.
Avatar f tn I went in for my check up @8 weeks 1 day based on my lmp.Doc couldn't detect my baby heart beat.My fetal pole & yolk sac are seen but the fetal pole measured at 6 Weeks 2 days. Doc suggested that it may be early pregnancy & asked to come back again in a week.I'm still having nausea, breast tenderness everyday. Anyone here have not seen the baby heart beat at 8 weeks but gotten a good news?
Avatar m tn Depending on the quality of the machines and if you are earlier than you think, it's very possible. Some people don't see a fetal pole or heartbeat until 7,8, or 9 weeks. I didn't see any of mine until I was 7 weeks and a few days along. Have they scheduled another appointment or done blood work to see if your levels are rising? Another ultrasound would show if there's fetal development and if the pregnancy is viable or not.
1339501 tn?1285439404 My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac). Almost everything I read online pointed towards miscarriage, or me having my dates wrong (which is impossible because the last time I had sex was the given conception date).
Avatar f tn I had an U/S at 6:3. I didn't see a heartbeat or fetal pole. Doctor was sure the fetus isnt developing and i would have a miscarriage. I went back at 7:3 and saw a heartbeat. The week in between the U/S was extremely stressful. Try to relax.
4236200 tn?1352611176 I've been feeling my baby kick for weeks now, and these past three days I haven't felt her kick at all. Is that normal at this stage? I've tried eating things to get her moving, switching positions when I lay down, but I've felt nothing. I'm really worried something is wrong.
