Femara and nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Femara and nausea

femara

i used Clomid, not femara which is very semilar. it helped me conceive and produce healthy eggs after my miscarriage. the side effects are kind of similar to pregnancy symptoms (nausea, dizyness...) give it a try, good luck and lots of baby dust to you.
But you have to be cautious as it is too early for you to be experiencing symptoms related to pregnancy. Your symptoms of breast tenderness, tiredness, nausea and headaches could all be due to premenstrual hormonal changes. I would advise you to wait till your periods to confirm your pregnancy. And good luck. Regards.
There are pretty much no side effects, although this cycle I had head aches and don't know if they were from femara or not. Last cycle I had a day 12 U/S and had a follicle on each side, one was 18 one was 24.5 and we did Ovidrel injection, BFN that cycle. This cycle same dose, today was my day 12 U/S, I had 4 follicles, but not all good sizes, one was 11, 14, 14.5 and 18. I am praying that the two 14's grow the 2mm over the next day and half. I would recommend femara!
However, I think my favorite kind is the regular ClearBlue OPKs. What tests are you using? ...and yes, there are definitely more of us on femara this month. Let's see... I think it was G_S, bny807 and Kash12. Girls, are you there?
My friend was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and within a year had both breasts removed and the lymph system in one arm removed. She was on Tamoxifen and is now on femara. She is tired, has pain in her stomach, with nausea and has some arm swelling. She just had another test done last week and now has many spots on her liver and is undiagnosed currently but they are going to perform a pet scan this week. Could femara cause any of these symptoms or the spots on her liver.
I've been taking femara for maybe 2 months. Am dealing with the confusion & memory loss and mild nausea and some diarreha but for the past several days the nausea & diarreha have increased to the point that I can't go to work. Is it possible it's still the side effects of the femara or do I just have a case of the flu. There has been no fever. Any help would be appreciated.
So I am on femara now and doctor also told me to use the OPKs, BBT seems to be a little inaccurate especially with alot of us lacking sleep. He said my most fertile days are as soon as I get the positive, and the day after- thats it. If I do not ovulate this cycle, come back and see him. So thats good news. Has anyone taken femara? Any side effects?
Hi everyone, I just started my period last night and will be trying femara for the first time this month. I've tried clomid once, but since I had no cervical mucus to speak of while on it, my new RE wanted to try femara instead. I'll be going in for a baseline sonogram on Saturday, which is CD4 according to FF and CD3 according to my new RE (they do not consider my first day as day 1, since it started at night), and I will probably start femara that same day.
I am now 6 weeks pregant and have no morning sickness or anything, just the occassional nausea. I think femara is a good drug for those having difficulty with getting pregnant.
Unfortunately I seem to be one of the few who feel the side effects....nausea, headaches, etc. Not to mention I only get acne once in a while and even when I do it's mild, the past few days my face looks horrible. We have a birthday party to go to tonioght with about 80 people and I have no interest in going. If I get pregnant this time it will definately make up for it. I have my Dr appt on tuesday.
range, she thinks that the sudden weight gain (30 pounds in 1 month!) coupled with past dx of hypoglycemia warrants this. If I get a BFN this month, I will take femara and do injectables next month. I only produced one follicle on Clomid, and she'd like to see at least 2 or 3. So that is the plan. . . She did an u/s and said I have a "gorgeous uterus"--whatever that means! I told her I had work done on it (ha ha).
Your symptoms should get better a day or two after your last dose. Try taking it at night to see if that helps.
I stopped the femara for 2 weeks and it didn't help. Now I get ravenous and eat like I may never see food again and then get nauseous. I can only eat small amounts or I feel extremely uncomfortable which is weird because I've always been an overeater. I've lost about 30 lbs (needed to) without trying. I cannot lose anything in the stomach as a matter of fact I look very "pregnant" sometimes. Upper stomach will poke out something awful.
If you need to know from the beginning read the below paragraph, that's how I started taking femara and the Ovidrel, which I was assined to injected near my belly. I was told the Ovidrel stays in the body for 10 days, so yesterday (wednesday made the 10 days) can anybody tell me what can I expect to see or feel now? how long continue waiting. thanks From my previous posting..this what I wrote. This was posted the 15th, so it was done during that week or previous one.

I need some fruit to take Metformin. Just Metformin is making me more nauseous and discouraging. So I eat one date fruit with every Metformin i,e just after swallowing Metformin. Is this okay?. Also I eat grapes now whenever I feel like need more energy to move around. Is that good? I lost my apetite after started Metformin. So trying to be more on fruits.
(I lasted about three to four days) and then femara Lasted three weeks) and then Aromasin (one or two days) If I were you i would not try all three of them. if two don't work , the chances are the third one won't make you feel any better even if they say so? And then I had to recover between them as well . I am now getting Faslodex which is a shot once a months at the doctor's office. I had almost zero side effects at first and this drug is very slow to work.
well I'm back on the trail of ttc again (naturally, but with femara, HCG injections, and progesterone suppositories starting on 3 DPO- ok, maybe that's not so "natural"!) Anyway, my point is, lhughes, your posts are encouraging, because our stories sound similar and it's nice to know I have hope for a baby!!... thanks!!
Does the joint pain and arthritis go away once you have completed the course of femara/Letrozole?
My family doc gave me Vioxx and it seemed to help the pain in my hips and knees. My fingers look like sausages and I wake up at night and can hardly bend them. I have pain around the thumb base. They seem to get better during the day. I'm supposed to be on the drug for 5 years.. I'm willing to have some discomfort to prevent recurrences of my cancer but would like to know if the side effects go away with time. A friend of mine said that the swelling may be causing Carpal Tunnel.
Im in recurrence of OVCA after 15thms. did chemo and avastin trial. Thank you.

Hi I did IUI on Saturday and am now doing the dreadful 2WW and I am already feeling discouraged but not defeated. I have PMS signs and it sucks cuz IF and WHEN AF shows up I'm gonna feel like burying my self under my sheets and never waking up. Don't mean to seem negative but today I am feeling prety down. Anyhow good luck to both of us.
I am in the TWW again. I was on femara this month and I had 2 follicles. Will wait and see. Good luck to everyone.
Both femara and Arimidex caused intense pain, confusion, dizziness, and nausea. I lasted 6 days on femara and 4 on Arimidex before being sent to the emergency room on New Year's Eve morning. What a great way to start what I had hoped would be better year! Now my medical oncologist wants me to start on Tamoxifen. Once bitten, twice shy! I know that most people do not have every side effect or even many of the ones listed on the drug insert.
I happened to come across something on the net, might be of some help to you, they are called preggie pops, apparently they are used for nausea while pregnant and in labour and also for chemo. I think they come in ginger flavours. I have never used them, but thought you may want to look into them, the feedback I read was quite postive.
Around the 25th hour she began vomiting and nausea; by the following morning she was in the hospital with kidney function so bad that if it wasn't treated she would be dead by the week-end. She has been in the hospital for 4 days and only now is starting to come back to reality. She has not eaten or really even drank anything for about 7 days now. Her white blood cell count is just above 2 - all must wear masks in her room. (She has had 5.
