i had 2 litters of kittens that were nursing off of the same mother and all of them died and their symptoms included: diarrehia, then they got weak and couldnt walk and their bodies got cold and they would meow as they were dying an di was just wanting to know what this sounded like?? I am not sure about the diseases and symptoms in cats/kittens and i would appreciate any info u have.
I am most concerned that, if the kittens who died, died suddenly without any obvious symptoms, that they could have succumbed to panleukopenia which strikes quite suddenly and most often in kittens. I would recommend you have mama and the kittens tested. Even if they are negative, they may have been exposed so you need to be especially careful about sanitation and quarantine from other cats since this is highly contagious and almost always fatal, especially in young kittens.
what opinion did the Vet have as to why the kittens died? were they only 2lbs??? my god that sounds like they were way too young and tiny to be spayed....yikes
and if you don't do the assist feedings correctly, it is very easy for them to aspirate into their lungs and yes choke!! were you shown how to do this the right way?
but that doesn't explain WHY they stopped eating to begin with. an INFECTION maybe?...

My cat gave birth to seven cute Persian kittens. two of them died a few days later. the other 5 are healthy and about 1 month old. it's been a few days that my cat doesn't eat well and she doesn't care about her kittens as before. her kittens are able to eat for themselves, but still need breast milk. Is the mummy cat sick? she used to be so greedy and she used to eat a lot of food.
But this kitten keep sucking the youngest kitten anus and eat their poop more than eating normal cat food and she died today.Why is the reason she died?Is it about the poop toxic?
2)The youngest one got slamed by a door when the wind blows he was 1 month old.So,he can't use both of her back legs.Now,when I gently hit his back legs he will lift up his leg slowly.So,what should I do to make him walk again?Just wait?Also after this happened he can still eat,poop and pee.
Is it possible that they have this, we have another adult female that has had diarrhea but no other symptoms and last year we had a litter of kittens a few of them died within a couple of weeks of birth but then some of them seemed to develop symptoms but grew out of it. Would you have any idea what we could be dealing with and what can be done? Any help is greatly appreciated.
My indoor rag doll had 5 kittens one tiny and sadly died today (10 days old) my other 4 kittens big healthy kittens but today I noticed they have lost fur! not in chunks or anything but went so thin that you can actually see there pink skin.
This was such a shock as there coats were fine!
they eat fine,no rash or anything on skin, nobody seems to know whats going on.
Its now been 3 months since my cat Mittens died which was really sad for me because I remeber when I first got her which was back in elementry school when I was in the 6 grade and a woman came into my class room and brought in a box of kittens and at the Time I didn't have a pet and I always wanted to have one but I thought would mom let me have one so after I got home I talked to mom about I thought I wasn't going to get a kitten but to my surprise she said yes and I never been happier
I rescued three kittens from the street the other day because their mom died and they are stray cats so i took them home until i find someone who wants to adopt them. I noticed somethings a few days ago that there is one kitten that has a red anus, like red and a bit swollen, i didn't know the reason until i found his brother biting it, or literally sucking it. i do not know why but it hurts him so much and i do not know their gender yet. but they are so young, small kittens.

He also started the temp spike, lethargy, off food and bloody diarrhea - but when put on Metronidazole would clear up for about a month or so. I brought the 2 kittens in the house after the mom died. We then found a 4 week old kitten about 4 months later. He was kept in the barn. Doing great. But we decided to keep him and brought him into the house. Had him wormed with drontal etc. Well this new kitten started showing the bloody diarrhea, temp & lethargy.
My husband found 5 newborn kittens 9 weeks ago in our backyard and the mother was dead not too far away. They still had their umbilical cords attached, so just a few hours old. I have been taking care of them full time myself, but one declined and died at 8 days old, another one had a funny looking head, was the smallest, and had what seemed like seizures, and he died at 4 weeks old along with another kitten.
Unfortunately one of the kittens died within hours but the strongest is still alive but her temp is still extremely high and refuses any milk substitute.
Does anyone know of a milk formula I could make up at home? She is still taking water from the syringe about 10mls every couple of hours. To help get her temp down I have a fan blowing over the top of her and a hot water bottle filled with cold water wrapped in towels which she is lying on.

When my mom died she was the only close family I had left my daddy had died and my husband had died and my 3 best friends died, 2 with cancer and 1 with a conjested heart just like my husband. I had taken care of my mom she had alzeimers and conjested heart. he was ike a child some times she was herself. My sister was mad because I did not stick her away in a stinky nursing home. I loved my mom so much. I crashed went to the doctor and he said cant you smile.
