3156104 tn?1357281195 Greeting and welcome. I am sorry this is happening. I do not have firsthand experience or knowledge about PA however I have some time on my hands so I just Googled some of the key words in your post. I hope the things I found this elsewhere help until someone else posts. Meanwhile perhaps you can post more details so others can offer insight: Psoriasis can most definitely cause joint pain or arthritis, commonly referred to as psoriatic arthritis.

Avatar n tn Spondyloarthropathies include ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a subset of psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease, and undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy.
Avatar f tn psoriatic arthritis and RA can present in very similar fashions. You can have symmetrical PsA. Best site I have found for more info on the various types of PsA is www.spondylitis.org This site is dedicated to the spondylotharapies, a group of autoimmune diseases. Just to through another wrench in things, it is also possible to have what they call seronegative (tests come back negative) RA. Better yet, in rare cases, you can get both (hi! I'm rare.
Avatar n tn I really thing you should try to get in soon with a rheumatologist because Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis go hand in hand. Good luck, hope you find some answers.
Avatar f tn ve been on Enbrel for about 5 years and it has been an extremely good medication for both the psoriasis and the psoriatic arthritis. My concern is what am I going to do now that my husband is retired and my health insurance won't cover the cost. I live in Canada and the cost of this medication is approximately $22,000.00 a year which my husband's company insurance covered but now that he is retired, it will not cover the cost for my lifetime.
Avatar f tn m jellylegs and from ireland, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis last march after a long battle with leg weakness, pain and exhaustion that was being diagnosed as CFS but I knew ther was a lot more going on and pursued a diagnosis privatly.Am on sulphasalazine and in the last few weeks have added methotrexate but finding the side effects difficult to deal with so cant increase it yet. I am like you(bit older) in that I dont know anyone that has this condition either.
Avatar n tn I was "diagnosed" with psoriatic arthritis severala years ago. I use quotes becasue a doctor looked at my swollen thumb and said "yup, psoriatic arthritis". I've got a doctors appointment (different doctor) because I've developed chronic joint pain in my fingers and left wrist and a wierd splotchy rash on my forearms and shins that doesn't itch, isn't hot to the touch and isn't disseminated any place else on my body.
Avatar f tn I don't know about the rash but the joint pain could be arthritis depending on your age.
Avatar n tn Psoriatic arthritis is a type of autoimmune arthritis that can be found in people with psoriasis. Not everyone with psoriasis will develop the disorder however.
469901 tn?1276563623 thanks for starting up this group i have suffered from psoriatic arth for 18 years bad skin deformed fingers and toes hope more people come and join and we can discuss all our woes together thanks
Avatar f tn From one patient to another, did your doctor just take xrays or did he/she also take blood and send it to the lab? Some psoriasis patients do get psoriatic arthritis. How long ago was your last doc visit and when were the xrays taken? Sometimes the pain comes before there is x-ray evidence of damage in the joints. If your doctor is not working with you, you might consider seeing another GP or a rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I have normal blood results, no elevated numbers on test results. I have swelling and edema in right hand fingers and knees, I have some joint pain and some hives at times. No psoriasis on me. I am in my late twenties my doctor wants me to take embrel. I do not have typical back symptoms of this type of arthritis. I need a diagnosis, What could this be? I tend to get stressed and that causessome symptoms to be stronger.
1550149 tn?1340000730 I have Psoriatic Arthritis, Myalgia type pain and joint pain. I've been taking Meloxicam 15 mg for about a month. Worked pretty good the first couple of weeks has helped with muscle pain but not so much with joint pain.. Also I am taking Tramadol 50 mg for pain daily, for about 4 months now and it is not working as good as when I first started using it.. My eyes feel dry and slightly burning and my ears feel like they are underwater with a buzzing noise when I lay down sometimes.
Avatar m tn I have had active psoriatic arthritis for 2 years now and have just started shots of Stelara for the condition. I have had unbelievable hip pain for a year now and just had a MRI which indicated that my hip has detereated, due to rheumatoid arthritis, and needs to be replace. I am very worried that having Sugery will cause my body to actively start attacking it self again. My question is: Anyone out there who has these conditions and have had Sugery, how did it affect your conditions?
Avatar f tn I experienced muscle throbbing and pain near the end of treatment and apparently tx put my fibromyalgia symptoms over the edge and I was full blown fibro. A good rheumatologist is helping me manage my symptoms ...along with therapy and PT...hope this helps...
