estradiol what is it

I have been reading about everyone with their injectables and other drugs, trigger shots, etc. What do you take them for and what is the first injectable? I feel like I haven't been tested, how do they know I don't need any. Is that something they eventually start trying on you? I bet they know a lot from the blood tests but I haven't had blood drawn since they initially screened me. Any advice?

I had a successful IUI 2 1/2 years ago resulting in a healthy baby boy. I had some prelim labs taken at what I reacll being mid cycle probably around or close to cycle day 16. My labs are: Estradiol 211, FSH 13.7, LH 55.6. Should I be concerned about these labs? Are they too high? or are they good for a 40 year old. I need some assistance please. Than kyou.

I don't have PCOS myself, so I'm definitely no expert, but unless you have problems with a thin lining, I don't think estradiol (estrogen) will help. Basically, estrogen is produced naturally as the follicle(s) grow every month...but it won't actually help them grow, if that makes sense. Why are you considering taking estrogen?

s a fairly normal level of estradiol pre-menopause. the FSH is elevated but not nearly as high as it might be in menopause. I'm still not yet through to the other side of menopause with estradiol at <10 and my FSH around 90. You are in the age range to have perimeno symptoms. These can fluctuate a LOT. You could all of a sudden begin getting regular periods again, keep having them be spaced out or anything inbetween.

Estradiol is a type of estrogen. Follow up with your healthcare provider who did the test. That's what they're there for. They have a bigger picture of your health history and can help you decide if this is the result that requires further investigation.

Thank you for your response. I have read that information online, too, but I was unable to determine a reasonable answer for my day 10 labs that were taken. I guess what I'm wanting to know is, with my day 10 values, is it possible to ovulate and/or conceive? I'm not sure what the estradiol values are "supposed" to be on day 10 after taking the CCCT. Any thoughts or insight to that would be appreciated. Thanks!!

t have another period until April, and I had one this month but it was 2 weeks late. What could be causing this? I know I have low progesterone because with my 2 pregnancies I had to take progesterone suppositories in order to sustain the pregnancy. Me and my husband are trying for another baby, but I can't seem to get pregnant. We have been trying since our last son was born. After my 2 miscarriages before, it took us 14 mths to get pregnant with our 1st son.

What is estradiol? Estrogen? If it is estrogen, this is used to thicken the lining of the uterus. I don't think this should continue to be taken. My doctor has me stop this on day 15 of my cycle. If it is progesterone, then yes, 12 weeks.... but depending on why it was prescribed. I would be checking with your doctor asap, as he is the best one to answer this.

what exactly does it do during pre-ovulation time? they always measure it at the dr's office right before they trigger me.. this time they said it was a little low, but thats to be expected with the femara (since it blocks estrogen production) Anyone know what that can do if its low? Well ladies, I don't don't what you think of my tests, but here they are: 2005 - conceived my son, first natural IUI, March, tests beforehand taken on day 2 showed: estradiol 160, with FSH of around 6 2007 - conceived my daughter October, with first IUI using meds, tests beforehand taken on day 2 showed: estradiol 253, with FSH of 6.9 Now, I'm trying for baby # 3. Have had one unsuccessful IUI, and one cancelled IUI, as I produced too many mature follies.

Its very frustrating but noone else has had any ideas on what is the cause. My previous hormone specialist prescribed a vaginal cream of estrogen/progesterone and testosterone.

How do I tell what is surgical menopause and what is a reaction to the patch/ Cream bioidentical estradiol? How do I tell what a hot flash is versus when I have a 99 degree temp? I have tried every dosage down to .375 and still cant handle it..tried .1 for a week felt like I was going to have a stroke. .5 totally unbearable. What can I do??? And I don't see it used in that way. For heavy periods, it's not uncommon for girls to be put on birth control. But this one? Weird choice it appears. Some birth control pills use estrogen to decrease period issues and prevent pregnancy. But Femoston seems to be used more for peri menopausal and post menopausal women.

I have had almost every test done and drs say it is anxiety due to menopause. Well no one can explain to me went directly to being post menopausal. I have taken a hormone test and ob dr said i am post menopausal, but when i had an ultrasound completed i was ovulating. It is hard to predict. The higher levels of estrogen may promote the midcycle LH surge, which is what urine OPKs look for. If this happens, the surge might come a couple of days earlier. This is called positive feedback. On the other hand, the higher estrogen levels my inhibit LH (this is called negative feedback) delaying the surge. You will need to test for ovulation to find out.

I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. Your numbers look great! Your estradiol is perfect for day 3 (normal is 25-75), and your prolactin is normal too (should be less than 24).

Estradiol can suppress fsh, so that could be why you fsh was so low. From what I understand cysts sometime increase Estradiol. I currently have a cyst, but my Estradiol came back under 50 with was good. I have a high fsh, between 18-20, but one cycle it was 5 and my Estradiol was 80 which meant it was suppressing my fsh. Hope you get some answers!
