Common Questions and Answers about Epipen jr age

epipen

Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.

And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar f tn Lucky you!!
Avatar f tn Well no one would call him B.J. cause Jr would not be his middle name. Jr is just a suffix not a middle name. Or I guess you could make it a name but in this case it would be Bryan "middle name" "last name" Jr.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar m tn First of all when your MD returns you want to look into getting an epipen for your wife. Even if the reaction was as mild as hives the next time she could go into full antiphlactic shock. You have to be quite tender with allergies and your wife's advanced age could pose a complication. It sounds as though the flu shot and the medications that she is on may have had an adverse affect combined. You should speak with your pharmacist since your MD isn;t available.
4451049 tn?1387153437 If the person having the attack carries an epinephrine autoinjector (such as an EpiPen or EpiPen Jr), give him or her a shot right away. Even if symptoms improve after an emergency epinephrine injection, a visit to the emergency department is still necessary to make sure symptoms don't return. " Ephedra------ I certainly can't say that you were really going into an attack----- but if had been me I would have stabbed my EpiPen into my thigh and then gone to the ER.
Avatar f tn have had all kinds of indoor and outdoor allergies since childhood, but around age 21, I developed several food allergies. mainly tree nuts, some beans, and fruit. I recently was retested to see if any of them went away, and it has only gotten severely worse! longer list of nuts, fruits, beans... it's beginning to seem the list of things I CAN eat is shorter than the list of things I CAN'T eat.

Avatar m tn s a heart arrhythmia, it could be caused by a valve getting stuck open and this can possibly also be treated with medication, although surgery would be a much more certain fix for the situation. At his age, though, I would just see if the medication makes a difference before subjecting him to open heart surgery should this turn out to be the reason. Right now I wouldn't panic. It's scary, I know, but I would have some diagnostics done and weigh all options before thinking the worst.

645800 tn?1466860955 With the talk of EpiPen in Michelle's post earlier today it got me thinking about my problem with needles and other self infecting skin damage devices. I am hoping that maybe someone will have some ideas or at least where to look for help with this. My problem isn't the normal fear of needles. I can get shot or blood drawn with no problems. Well except I have to be able to watch what is going on.If I can't see it happening I will pass out.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar f tn I was soo happy my bf said he didnt have to have a jr.... he is a jr and I just wanted a new name for my little guy. However to he will have my bf middle name.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn t, but we did have a fantastic consultant who recommended I take jr aspirin and progesterone suppositories from the moment I knew I was pregnant the 4th time. It may just be coincidence but it worked and I carried it on with each of my other pregnancies. The jr aspirin was to help the blood flow from the placenta and the progesterone was to help thicken the lining of my womb. Maybe speak to your gp and see if they can refer you to someone who could best advise you for the future.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar f tn I'm a 40 year old female who since the age of 23 has had abdominal pain. In 1996 @ the age of 26 I was given a hysterectomy for what was thought to be Endometriosis. I was misdiagnosed and did not have endometriosis. Having this surgery only caused things to get much worse, in 1999 (age 29) I had to under go another surgery to remove the one ovary that was left due to pain & because it looked abnormal on my ultrasound.
