Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn My elisa test is always positive for hcv but my qualitative test is negative..my question is that how can I turn my elisa test to negative? ??antibodies are harmful for me??how can I remove hcv antibodies from my blood???please suggest me any medicine??I hope that you all will give me good advice..
Avatar n tn hello, my name is umar , as per my hepatitis C screening test elisa ( anti bodies) is positive and the ratio is 17.00 cut of ratio is 1 but in my HCV PCR ( RNA ) test is negative, please explain what is do?
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
1350500 tn?1277518068 Which test should I opt for confirmatory detection of antibodies for Hepatitis C, if the screening test (ELISA) for antibody IgG detection comes out to be positive?
Avatar m tn This forum is for Hepatitis C not HIV. You will not have contracted Hepatitis C from the Thai girl.
Avatar m tn recently i received my elisa test report.which was indicating cut of value of 12. is this test confirmed that i am hcv victim. and is this value is something to worry about.
Avatar n tn If you test positive for hepatitis C and don't have a viral load (HCV RNA PCR test) is "negative" then you don't have hepatitis C. As"Flyinglynn"said above. Otherwise, you can test positive for hepatitis C and not have the virus. You only have the antibodies in your system. Results- you have nothing to worry about. You don't have "chronic Hepatitis C.
20894959 tn?1583682547 You did not specify exactly which blood tests were performed. The initial screening test for hepatitis C is usually the ELISA screen, but more than 1 in 5 people who test positive do not actually have hepatitis C. Antibodies picked up by the test may have been triggered by infection other than hepatitis C (cross-reactivity phenomenon). People who have recovered from hepatitis C on their own may also get a false-positive ELISA test result.
Avatar m tn If you are positive for hep c antibodies on any hep c antibody test the next test you need is the HCV RNA by PCR test to find out if you are infected with hep c and need treatment. If you test positive for the virus on the HCV RNA test that says you are infected. If your result is "not detected" you do not have hep c. End of story.
Avatar n tn 9 months ago she had no signs of Antibody for Hepatitis C but now it is positive. She was sent to have RIBA test but in ElISA test ,which was taken 2 times, the anti bodies were high! showing of virus activities in her body. As she works in a sensitive area and all the kids always have tests before having any treatment in cell transplantation and none of the patience has this disease, how can she infected by this disease!?
Avatar m tn The Eliza test does not give you any information about how harmful or serious your hepatitis C is. That test only tells you if you have the antibodies to hep C. Your other laboratory studies and perhaps a biopsy, gives the information about how serious your disease.
634590 tn?1293774093 If you have been exposed to Hepatitis C or have had Hepatitis C you will test positive for Hepatitis C antibodies for the rest of your life. This will required you to have a Hepatitis C RNA by PCR to prove you don't have Hepatitis C. This will require a current test results if proof is required. Have a great trip.
Avatar n tn i was tested hiv-ab western blot and it was found to be indterminate then i was Hiv 2 EIA non-reactive, Hiv 2 immunobolt and it too was non-reactive. I was then tested for hepatitis B and C it was non-reactive also? Please someone tell me what is going on. I was tested in Oct.06 and was negative and after that have not had unprotected sex.
Avatar n tn There are many different ELISA tests, so doctors must use one specifically for hepatitis C. The ELISA test will search the blood sample for the hepatitis C antibody. If any are found, this means that you might have HCV infection.
Avatar m tn I went back home for the treatment...and then undergone certain other test...like ANTI HCV (ELISA) ,ANTI HBcAG IGM and ANTI HBcAG IGM (ELISA)....and all kinds of other blood test EXCEPT HIV test....all the other tests came negative......my Hepatitis got cured...after a month...but after getting cured ...now I have dry cough for almost 2-3 weeks now and lots of chest pain and fatiuge.....CAN ALL THIS BE THE SYMPTOMS OF HIV?....AS I NEVER UNDERGONE ANY HIV ELISA TEST...
