Avatar f tn Avoid hot tubs as well, some of the chemicals in hot tubs can be extremely irritating to people with eczema! My mom used baby oil on me as a kid so that may help for youor kids. Avoiding anything with strong scents has decreased my need for medication drastically. The best thing i can say is to visit a dermatoligist. They will be able to give you suggestions as well.
Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
Avatar f tn i was recently introduced to meleleuca products,n they are fantastic! it got rid of all the eczema rash, uses the pure oil, then the RENEW lotion,it is the best thing ive uses so far,it doesnt thin the skin out klike most cortisone creams the doc usually prescribes,my question is this...although the rash n itch has gone away, the awful pimple like blisters have not, does anyone know what i could use to rid of it?
Avatar f tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes. This is probably the reason that the calendula oil is not working now. Topical (applied to the skin) medication like mild steroids(hydrocortisone)to higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide) is frequently prescribed.
Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema — regardless of type — involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. Doing so tends to increase effectiveness and reduce side effects from medications.
Avatar f tn The only thing I know that clears eczema or dermatitis is cortisone. I also notice that chlorinated water irritates my eczema on my legs so I installed a water filter. And 2 years ago... maybe due to menopause ? ... I stopped wearing most earrings that were less than 18K Gold but even some of those have nickel - which I've found I'm allergic to. It doesn't cause eczema but it itches my face, neck and throat like crazy! good luck.. hope something helps!
Avatar f tn I have eczema also and you can even ask your doctor for a topical treatment, works within a week..2 at the most.
Avatar n tn Hello, Apart from steroids which is basic treatment for eczema, topical emmolients to prevent moisture loss from the skin can be used because Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed but they are not used in children.
Avatar n tn It could be eczema or it could be puppps. Do you have little bumps everywhere? If so I would talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn 2 year evaluations have showed sebaceous destruction permanence. I have 2 relatives who have undergone this treatment and the results are truly amazing, their skin is oil (and acne) free! They don't even get black heads on the nose anymore. I'm thinking 5 procedures to substantially decrease sebum + a topical retinoid to normalize keratinization + an anti-inflammatory antibiotic to tackle all of the acne causes. I have an appointment to discuss this with my derm.
3093770 tn?1389739126 I used Desert Essence Shampoo and Conditioner, with Tea Tree Oil and Peppermint, as the ingredients. I also took an anti-itch pill, called Atarax, which worked well. And I also conditioned my scalp with products like coconut oil( pure, organic) and a product called Waxalene, which contained soy bean oil, vitamin e oil, and bees wax. I also used bee pollen.
9807151 tn?1406762059 Hey! Life long eczema sufferer here. I've found that applying olive or coconut oil topically right out of the shower helps soothe my skin. Use a dry towel and dab it on, simultaneously drying off your skin. That's my best advice for non prescription/medicine approach. You may also try avoiding inflammatory foods/beverages.
Avatar n tn Smelling scalp can be due to stress or hormonal changes which may lead to excess oil produced by the oil glands in your scalp. This causes the harmless bacteria that live in the scalp to proliferate and feed off the oil, which produces the odor. I think getting a thyroid profile tested in the lab may help and also please consult a dermatologist to find out the confirmatory diagnosis as treatment depends on the same. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn What is the best treatment for vaginal Eczema. I have this for years now, it comes and goes. I use Calendula gel when I have symptoms, it seems to help but not completely. Is there something that I can use that is more effective. It is very uncomfortable. Burning sensation, etc. I had a biopsy done a few years ago and results came back (SPONGIOTIC DERMATITIS) which I been told is like ECZEMA. Can you please help or have any comments regarding this condition.
Avatar n tn Now that we started treatment on the molluscum his eczema is terrible. I took him to a new Dermatologist to get a second opinion. She wants to treat the severe eczema first then the molluscum. She wants to treat the molluscum with the topical ointment for genital warts. I am so frusterated. My 4 year old has molluscum now also. I don't want to have to keep going on with this. My 7 year old it covered head to toe with molluscum and eczema. Can someone please help us.
681148 tn?1437661591 t add hair fixatives to my hair and scalp. I typically add olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil after I wash my hair in the shower. I've been taking extra B vitamins, too. This is really driving me mad, because it's making me miserable.
Avatar n tn Hi, It could be an eczema present in the buttocks. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Atopic eczema is believed to have a hereditary component, and often runs in families whose members also have hay fever and asthma.
Avatar n tn I just talked to my Dr. about vaginal eczema. I had never heard of it before last week. I'm very prone to eczema, it seems to be related to my gluten intolerance. She felt the vaginal eczema is probably related to it also since I started eating glutenous foods again and my eczema everywhere else flared up too. I'm not Celiac, just intolerant and much more sensitive to it than intially thought. I'm going gluten free again and I'm hoping it all clears up soon.
Avatar f tn Eczema is a skin disease that causes itchy, red, dry flaky skin. There is no cure or reasonable treatment. The treatment is typically steroids but there are side effects. You should cut down on the amount of baths you get. Don't use hot water. Use a oil based soap like oilatum or Dove all natural. Use natural laundry detergents based on enzymes. Don't use bleach or dryer pads. Use a good moisturizer just after shower. You need to moisturize at least twice a day.
Avatar m tn It is highly contagious and is transmissible from daily household articles also and so they may also require the treatment. The treatment that your dermatologist has advised i.ee permethrin cream is to be applied for 12 hrs. You can apply the cream at night and leave it overnight for effect. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
