Common Questions and Answers about Eczema symptoms toes

eczema

Avatar f tn Hello, One of the possibilities for your symptoms is atopic dermatitis or eczema skin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar f tn Could it be eczema or something else? I have never had eczema, so this would seem weird to me if it is and to just have it in one isolated spot. Should I see my doctor? Thank you!
Avatar m tn My children have had recurring blisters between their toes for the last several months. We've been to several dermatologists but no one can explain what these are. They are not itchy and they tend to get better and worse over the course of several weeks. Also, they start as pinhead sized blisters that can grow to involve the entire toe (or multiple small blisters that grow together). Lamasil seemed to help after the initial outbreak, but does nothing now.
1002512 tn?1265438579 There are many causes for ridges on the toes nails such as eczema, lichen planus, dermatitis, peripheral vascular disease, psoriasis, fungal infection, and Raynaud’s disease. Since you all have numbness, shooting pains, forgetfulness, arm and leg weakness and fatigue chances of Raynaud’s disease and other peripheral vascular diseases should be ruled out. Diabetes, smoking, high lipids and high blood pressure are some of the causes of peripheral vascular diseases.
Avatar n tn Dyshidrosis is a less common eczema which only occurs on palms, soles, and sides of fingers and toes. Tiny opaque bumps called vesicles, thickening, and cracks are accompanied by itching which gets worse at night. A common type of hand eczema, it worsens in warm weather. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), applied to the affected areas. It could also be a fungal infection in which case you may have to apply OTC anti-fungal ointments.
Avatar f tn Hi. I originally had cellulitis a month ago and since then Ive been dealing with small clear fluid filled blisters on the toes of my feet, they're in a straight line weirdly enough. They are very itchy and quite painful to touch. My Doctor put me on both valtrex and a steroid cream to cover both... Ive been on them for 3 days and have significantly improved. So now I'm wondering if it is herpes or dyshidrotic eczema?
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms the first possibility is of pomphloyx. Pompholyx is also called dyshidrotic eczema. It is characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles which itch and then peel off. As a result the skin may also fissure. The first stage is acute and presents as itchy blisters on the hands, fingers and toes. Then the chronic stage shows more peeling, cracking, or crusting. Then the skin heals up, or the blistering may start again.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the picture,it looks like dyhidrotic eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g.
Avatar n tn I've had my first outbreak of Eczema at 32 years old (Male) and it started out as athlete's foot and now is diagnosed by my doctor as Eczema. It was on my toes for four months and last week it started on my ankle, noe I'm getting little bumps on my hands. I've been on burrow's solution, oral terbinafine tablets, anti-histamines and a foot cream for the eczema. It's very slowly getting better but winter is coming and I soon won't be able to open shoes for the cold.
Avatar m tn Over the last couple months i have been getting what seems to be air bubbles under my skin on my fingers and toes. After a while they rise to the surface and burst. They are painful, exspecially after they burst. I have done some research and my guess is hand eczema, but like i mentioned I also have they on my toes. Please help! *I play soccer if that makes a differance.
Avatar n tn It can be eczema. Use the above stated treatment and if the symptoms persist then please get a biopsy skin done from a dermatologist. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn s not so bad but the skin still never heals. I also have numbness in my toes - especially when I walk and particularly in the 2nd toes on both feet and numbness at the side of my knees which feels like a tearing burning sensation. I have honestly tried everything to clear it up but it just wont heal. My toe also gets quite itchy - actually extremely itchy most of the time - hence my reason for using tinea ointment but to no avail. Can anyone give me any ideas on what to do.
Avatar n tn To start with, I am a healthy drug and disease free 30 year old female. About a year ago I started experiencing severe itching on my feet and in between my toes. It turned into the skin peeling between my toes. ( I did try treating this as if it were athletes foot with no results.) As of today, I am still suffering with the severe itching, and peeling skin on my feet and toes, though now it has changed some and also is affecting my hands. I have noticed a very distinct pattern now.
Avatar f tn In the past few months I have had these tiny little bumps appear on the bottom of my feet and between my toes they also have an annoying itch as well. I try not to scratch my feet, but the other day one of the bump was itching so bad that I scratched my foot to the point clear liquid came out were the bump once was. The peeling and the itching has also spread to between and on my toes. I now have a scar and the bottom of my foot from wear that bump once was.
Avatar f tn I have this friend who asked me to do this for her. She's younger than me. She has peeling skin on her toes. It's pretty bad and she's doesn't think it's Athlete's foot because it doesn't itch and it's not red. It's peeling on her toes only and it's starting to spread very slightly on the balls of her foot. It's not itchy or anything but it's just peeling on her toes and it's pretty bad.
Avatar m tn I am a young man (wont give an age, I am a bit cautious on the internet, if you dont mind) and the skin of my fingers and toes peel (Primarily my fingers). There is no blisters, It does not hurt, it does not itch, much less present on my toes. It can sometimes peel deep enough to make my fingers bleed a little (3 out of ten figers currently have scabs and when they bleed it does sting a little). It feels like there is a lot of dead skin on my fingers before peeling.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been having painful/itchy blisters that show up inbetween my toes, on the sides of my toes and on both sides of my feet. They are filled with clear odoress oil-like liquid which doesn't seem to be infectious. If I pop them they get itchier and usually the area starts to hurt. If I leave them, they usually eventually dissapate leaving a scale that comes off. All around the area where the blister was then usually starts the same proccess over again.
Avatar n tn On top of that, I had a friend tell me my fingers look swollen. The 2 toes closest to my big toes are peeling as well, and my left elbow was very dry and looked like plaque. The peeling on my hands started as what looked like little blisters. And on my head between my eyebrow and hairline there is a small patch of red irritated skin. My hands, feet, and elbow don't itch or burn at all. And the thing on my head only irritates me if I use cream on it or start sweating.
Avatar m tn I have consulted my military doctors for 4 months now and they are convinced that it is Athlete's foot. What test can I request to determine that it is or is not Athelete's foot or a bacterial eczema? Is bacterial eczema usually mistaken for Athlete's foot? Is that the reason why these oral antifungal pills are not working, if so what type of antibiotics would I need to suggest since we do not have a dermatologist on base?
Avatar m tn Dyshidrotic eczema(Pompholyx) indicating a possible nickel sensitization is no concern for HIV. Do consult your doc.
Avatar f tn I have had a type of hand eczema for about two months now and have gone to the doctor multiple times. There is small fluid filled bumps on the palm and fingers. Also, it is rather itchy and is quite dry and peeling. They have prescribed antibiotics; Novo-Cloxin for five days and Novo-Clindamycin for fifteen days. After I started the second one, it seemed to be getting better, but then did not fully heel. Whenever I put hand cream on, it gets red and inflamed.
Avatar m tn m not sure, but it sounds like eczema. Did you know that eczema is exasperated by both what you eat and what you expose your skin to? I used to get giant blisters about an inch in diameter myself. It was a combination of two things affecting the eczema: gluten intolerance that might or might not be Celiac. I was also reacting to the kind of dish detergent I was using. I stopped gluten and switched to Seventh Generation fragrance free dish liquid.
Avatar m tn I have read that pitting of the nails is caused by psoriasis or eczema. From time to time i get eczema in tiny almost unnoticeable spots... I had psoriasis on my scalp as a child, but thats it. I'm a pretty healthy guy in general... I train 4 times a week and eat healthily most of the time. Before our trip I changed my diet up to shed a few extra kgs so maybe that bought on the nail pitting? we also hit the booze pret hard while we were there so maybe that assisted with the nail pitting.?
Avatar n tn I have small firm bumps all over the tops of my feet with clusters around the ankle - nothing between toes and I wear Birkenstock most of the time so my feet are not moist. They do not weep or crust they are just tiny bumps that sometimes itch just slightly. I can scrub the tops off the bumps with a skin scrubbing pad but they are back in two days. I may have contracted them at a health spa a few years back. I have looked at photos of athletes foot and it does not match.
Avatar n tn Hi, When I am at physical therapy my knees turn extremely red and blotchy red spots and if you push on them it turns white. If you place your hand on them they are burning hot. My PT thought it was because I was working out, but this occurs at randoms times as well. Even if I'm just sitting down or laying down they just become red. Also when I get out of the shower my whole entire leg has these red blotchy spots all over them from my toes to my hips.
Avatar n tn My grandson ( who is 2 1/2 years old) has his finger tips and toes peeling for over 6 months. It bothers him and they are raw. He picks at them. He is always sick.
