Eating too much protein kidney

Common Questions and Answers about Eating too much protein kidney

protein

Avatar m tn m eating per day. What I did notice, and since have changed, is that I was eating too much protein. My BG levels had crept up to 150 and I had started eating these low carb high protein bars as snacks. Once I stopped eating those my BG levels came down to the 130's. I have since reduce protein amounts and I'm seeing fasting numbers in the 120 and under range. Any one else experience higher BG levels with too much protein?

Avatar f tn ( I will be very very sad though) My question is if it is possible to give her too much water or food. The vet said to keep feeding her as much as I can and she is eating her kidney food but I am worried that it might be too much water or protein. Did anybody have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn That being said, a low carb diet might mean you are eating way too much protein, or it could mean you just eat somewhat more protein. Eating too much protein can cause kidney problems. Statins, as far as I know and I'm not an expert, are more of a problem for the liver and the joints. Talk to your doc, but if when you got the test the doc didn't call you in for further investigation it meant most likely the doc didn't see any real problem.

Avatar m tn How much water do you drink? Even slightly dehydrated can cause kidney pains. If it started after the dye that doesn't surprise me. that stuff is really bad for kidneys. You haven't been taking any medicines like nsaids or anything like that have you? That causes it as well.

Avatar f tn So now for this pregnancy im feeling it again. I lost so much weight for my 1st one for throwing up so much and im scared to go through this again for this one. I cant eat anything without feeling queezy afterwards and even water tastes absolutely disgusting. What can i do to lower my chances of throwing up everytime i eat or drink anything.??
Avatar f tn If you recognize that eating a little too much healthy food continues to build up your fat reserves without limit, then yes it is bad. There's needs to be balance, and an awareness of when you've been eating too much (if only through your belt and pants feeling tighter), so that you know you must cut back.
Avatar f tn Protein in urine discovered on a microalbumin test may often be the earliest sign of diabetic kidney damage. Have you seen a Nephralogist to rule kidney issues or renal pathway infection? Try posting on the Kidney Disease & Disorders & Nutrition forums. Not much more I can help you with since your concern doesn't appear to be about diabetes. Good luck.
Avatar n tn After having blood tests and a urine protein screen my vet explained that the kidneys were functioning, but that too much protein was passing thru holes in the kidneys. The vet put her on a low protein diet (Hill's Prescription Diet U/D, canned), prescribed 1/2 tablet of 5 mg. Enalapril twice daily and instructed me not to give her anything high in protein. The explanation was that more protein would make the holes in the kidneys larger, therefore they would lose more protein.
Avatar f tn I try to eat smaller meals however still feel very bloated and full after everything I eat. I eat normal amount not too little or too much. Baby is at 29 weeks a bit bigger than the charts. It feels like I should eat a lot less. To not have a massive baby and to not feel the heavy bloating after eating. Any opinions?
Avatar f tn This cat had a kidney infection 3 years ago that was successfully treated with antibiotics. She was very sick and was not eating or drinking for several days. I had to give her fluids under her skin. She made a fairly complete recovery but is always meowing for canned food. I gave her the special diet from the vet but couldn't afford the cans long term (it came to $1.50 a can). I researched the lowest protein for canned food and have used various brands.
Avatar m tn You will need a little extra but not double your weight. Too much consummation of protein and if the body does not use it, it will store it as fat. The side effects of too much protein are taxing to the kidneys. The only way you lower your cholesterol is if you are eating protein source foods that lower it, such as eggs, fish, chicken, nuts, and seeds. If you are consuming red meat, high fat meats, and high fat dairy products, then the cholesterol increases. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn Hi. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Kidney Disease 6 months or so ago. She is morbidly obese and has type 2 diabetes and extremely uncontrolled high blood pressure, and a severe panic disorder. She started a low carb/high protein diet when she was diagnosed. She has lowered the amount of insulin she needs from 160 units a day to 60 units which is great. But since this diet her high blood pressure has sky rocketed. We were in the ER twice last week with blood pressures greater than 200.
740516 tn?1360942486 Hi, there could be many causes of your cat being so quiet. First off, it's a good sign that she's still drinking and eating. Usually, when they're sick they hide and won't eat or drink. How long have you had her? How much weight has she put on? If she's eating a lot and not putting on much weight, it could be worms, diabetes, or overactive thyroid. Since she was a stray, the odds are that she has worms-especially, if she's thin but has a big belly.
Avatar n tn Congrats on your little baby. And trust me that is completely normal to not have much appetite at that stage ..most people actually lose weight because of throwing up and loss of appetite and I was one of them, just the thought of food made me sick . It made me so nervous that I wasn't eating enough to nurture my baby but he was A OK.. I'm now 18 weeks and still barely eating much. So I wouldn't stress too much over it. Just made sure you are keeping hydrated.
Avatar m tn too much of anything is not good. Too exhaustive excersise can lower natural INF Moderate 30min cardio can increase it. Hep C causes insulin resistance in muscle. Excersise and healthy diet helps slowing this down.
Avatar n tn well it seem like you have gotten out of your depression and then rolled into another persons. Your too young for so much stress...you need to express to your boyfriend that your worried about him and you went through a lot of depression yourself and you can only control yours right now and that his depression is making you depressed all over again...and you will be there for him but he has to be on the same track as you...your too young for all that depression...
Avatar f tn The only thing with eating so much at a time is that you may regret it later like u are now lol. I use to get really bad heartburn after eating too much. Good luck with those twins though! Maybe ur body is just preparing u to carry 2 babies :) Take care!

Avatar n tn Just drink plenty of water, get rest and try to eat healthy with a little protein in each meal. Protein helps stabilize your blood sugar. You may want to get your blood sugar tested periodically for possible diabetes too. Just be careful now that you know how you react to sugar. I hope you feel better today!
