Avatar f tn Thank you all for your feedback I will try not to beat myself up and panic so much lol...
Avatar f tn Your decision, but honestly I would really talk to your dr and not change what you do regularly! Trying to beat/cheat the test isn't a good idea...beat the test because you are healthy and really don't have GD!
Avatar f tn A family history of diabetes can result with a diabetes gene being passed to the next generation by one or both parents, in rare cases from the grandparents skipping a generation. The problem area lays with the actual genetic testing as it's still not fully comprehended or in place. In your case, Ruthie, if you wish further analysis I suggest you get your thyroid and pancreas checked. A malfunctioning thyroid will disrupt pancreas insulin production.
Avatar m tn 54 y.o. male w/ history of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. I beat an enlarged heart and type 2 diabetes at age 48 thru diet and exercise. In the last 6 months, old habits returned. Eating poorly and inactive. Started working out again about new year and eating better. Last night left side went numb suddenly, lasted about 20 minutes. Went away completely. Came back in the middle of the night. Gets stronger and weaker. If diabetes, not likely to be entire side of body.
Avatar n tn Other possibility is a rapid gastric emptying, when the food comes fast into duodenum, is absorbed fast, glucose in blood rises and then falls rapidly, what leads to anxiety, rapid heart beat, sweating (effects of adrenalin). It may be a symptom of diabetes (or pre-diabetes). I don't know, but glucose in blood in fasting and after the meal should be checked (endocrinologist). Other investigation done by gastroenterologist is test for the speed of gastric emptying.
Avatar n tn Should I consider having my dr. cut me back to 25 mgs to see if the weight will come off? i also have a family hx of diabetes and was told that i was "borderline Type II" at my last checkup. Please help!
Avatar n tn As stated it is not unexpected to have an increase in the heart rate, etc. after eating there is a demand for more blood/oxygen to digest food. So your system is working a little harder as it should. I'm not sure about any connection with eyesight, but high blood pressure can effect the small vessels in the eye (retina). Zestril is an ace inhibitor that helps relax the vessels and reduce the associated pressure. You may want to see a doctor for a medical checkup...
Avatar m tn If you are interested their are several police agencies that do not consider Juvenille diabetes to be a barrier to being hired and the experience that you have already would be greatly valued. Good luck.

Avatar n tn No, I just assumed you would be overweight as most are, I am, but I was able to control diabetes with diet, there is a book called eat to beat diabetes, and it helped me alot, got me right on track, exercise was also a big key, 2o min a day does not sound like much, but you will see, just stay religious about it. I also had some other medical issues that came up later but I will not go into that long story. before all the other stuff came along I was able to get my a1c from 9.5 down to 5.
Avatar m tn s something to think about and talk to your doctor about. It gets old, but it does beat the alternative. Keep looking for answers and make your doctors explain "why" this is happening when you are doing everything right. A diabetic diet is a very healthy diet which will benefit you in many other ways. You aren't just helping your blood sugar. I eat like a diabetic to stay healthy.
Avatar f tn Hello, you may also want to test before eating to see if your blood sugars go down eventually. Are you overweight? if so, losing weight may help, as will daily exercise. Try reducing carbs (you eat less carbs, but more protein and unprocessed fats). You can experimeint to see if this is enough to get your sugarss down. learn to 'eat to your meter'. ie. find what foods don't make you high and then make these a main part of your diet.

Avatar f tn As per I knew there is no relation between bulimia for diabetes. Here I am giving some information about bulimia. Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by recurrent binge eating, followed by compensatory behaviors, referred to as "purging". The most common form—practiced more than 75% of people with bulimia nervosa—is self-induced vomiting; fasting, the use of laxatives, enemas, diuretics, and overexercising are also common.
