ECG last month showed SVES, RBBB. This week he has stress test with dipyridamole protocol, and injection of thallium-201. The result showed "evidence of mild, small to medium size, irreversible perfusion defect in the inferior/inferolateral wall (mid to basal level)." Could you explain what this means? Does he need to have surgery or pacemaker? thanks in advance for your help.

Pharmacological Intervention was performed with injection persantin (Dipyridamole) at a rate of 0.142 mg/kg/min, 07 Mci of Tc-99m Myoview was given I/V. His resting ECG showed 0.5-1mm ST-T Depression in inferolateral leads. No further ECG changes were noted during and after persantin infusion.
Pharmacological stress Tc-99m MIBI scan was performed with Dipyridamole given at arate of 0.14 mg/Kg/min over 4 minutes followed by injection of radio tracer 6 minutes later.
Findings are: Peak stress images revealed hypoperfused infero-septal and apical segment, which showed reversal at rest.
Impression: Findings are consistent with infero-septal and apical reversible ischemia.

I recently was prescribed alprostadil injections to treat my ED (Edex). I did not have a particularly good response to the dosage in my urologist's office, or the first two times I injected at home. I titrated to 15 mcg today (from 10) but the response was still unsatisfactory for intercourse. My urologist has asked me to come in because he thinks I may not be injecting properly. It is possible, I suppose, but I do think my technique is OK.
The adverse effects experienced are similar to those with use of adenosine. While adverse effects are less frequent with dipyridamole (47% of patients), they tend to be more serious than those associated with adenosine. The most common adverse effects of dipyridamole are chest pain (19%), headache (12%), and hypotension (4.6%). In addition, 12% of patients require aminophylline for reversal of adverse effects.
After treatment you will be fine and all those living with you have an injection also to ensure it does not spread. This is what is done in Australia. I contracted it 40 years ago but didnt know i had HepC at the same time. Within 6 weeks i was fine but you will carry HepB antibodies for the rest of your life. You will be fine as long as you get the treatment. Yellowing of the skin and eyes should clear within the six weeks. This is my personal experiance and others that i know of.
I looked at the package and ASASANTIN is a brand name for DIPYRIDAMOLE/ASPIRIN.
Thought I would clarify that.
Persantine is dipyridamole, but you will have to get extended release tablets as the two asprin and dipyridamole should not be taken together. Don’t change the medications without discussing with your doctor. So, consult him and then decide.

What is nonreversible apical inferior wall and what does it mean when they say no dipyridamole-induced reversible ischemia .there is mild defect in the apical inferior wall that is not reversible at rest.
While you are taking Aggrenox (aspirin/dipyridamole), you should avoid taking over-the-counter pain medicine, especially any other products containing aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Also, Avoid alcohol, or drink a minimal amount, as the combination of Aggrenox and alcohol could cause stomach bleeding.
HIV is only transmitted by unprotected sex or by direct exposure to blood, like when sharing needles for drug injection. It is never transmitted by razor blades in barber shops.
If it is a new problem that involves all sites you may need to ask your injection training nurse or your prescribing doc to take a look at what is going on. I'm not aware of any recent changes in the equipment. Please let us know what you find out. We all learn from each other around here.

Honestly, your need for reassurance is part of your anxiety. Something tells me you have worried before about hiv and looked up things or asked us here before. If AIR inactivates the virus, you can't touch blood and get HIV. Air is present. Touching a needle is different than an INJECTION. A needle stick is different than an injection. She didn't wear gloves. Big deal.
I suffered a mild stroke (blood clot) Consultant prescribed Clopidogrel but cannot tolerate side effects. Then consultant prescribed Dipyridamole. I cannot tolerate this either. Severe headache, vomiting and diarrhoea. Has anybody got a different medication they are on?

Hi Does anyone else get blisters forming around their injection sites? l have ben on copaxone since may, and l've tried both the auto inject pen and manual injecting, however whichever method l use causes my legs to blister and weep within hours of injecting. My arms have also now have the same problem. Has anyone got any suggestions.

It has been lingering on & off in my mind for while & I am going to make an apt. to see my obgyn. I have been going regularly to those apts. Based on the information on the forum you have already posted. White heterosexual men that are non injection drug users in the US are at a much lower risk for hiv?
The day after injection by gadolinium complained to the prescribing doctor of chest pains when breathing.
Dipyridamole was infused coupled with low level excercise without any significant complaints and ischemia ECG changes. heart rate changed from 68 to 100/min and blood pressure from 130/80 to 140/90 mm of HG.
Findings:
Images acquired after stress injection of Tc-99m-MIBI showed markedly reduced to absent tracer uptake at apex,antoseptal wall,apical anterior segments and almost whole of the inferior wall.
Just started taking Enbrel self injection, haven't had RA meds since August. Feeling lighted a bit and very anxious. Is this normal and will it fade as time goes on?
