Diflucan nystatin

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan nystatin

diflucan

After Nystatin, that didn't work the doctor gave me one pill of Diflucan for my candida. The situation instead of improving is getting worst. I have more candida then before and i also got mild fever, weakness, joint aches and liver pain. As i see in the posts many had problem with candida. Did someone already cured the candida with those drugs and did they have the same symptoms? I don't know anymore how to get out of this problem and doctors too as far as i see.
Have been taking Bicillin shots for about 6 months. Took Nystatin with it when first started then stopped Nystatin. Kept getting shots. Now I have nausea, dizziness, fatigue and anxiety with some depression, especially when I wake in the morning. Tried one pill of Nystatin again last night and things seemed to really bottom out quickly. Woke up severely depressed and have stayed that way all day.
My labia majora was very red and inflamed. I thought I had a yeast infection so I took the extra diflucan dose I had and applied the nystatin cream to my labia majora area. I didnt have the directions still so I didnt know I wasnt supposed to put underwear on after you applied the cream. Well I did that for a few days. So after day 3 the inflammation was horrible and now I have bumps and its very red around the labia and clitoris area. I went to the Dr again and she looked and saw no yeast.
Nystatin didn't work on my daughter. Diflucan was much more effective. Also, he could have had an allergy to the antibiotic, and may not have yeast at all. Have you tried some sort of cream like benadryl or hydrocortisone? Ask his Dr. 1st on those.
My baby boy has yeast in his mouth... I keep trying to give him this Nystatin Oral Suspension, but he just sucks it right off my finger and swallows it. Will it do him any good if he eats the stuff?
Initial diagnosis was a yeast infection as well as a bladder infection. She prescribed me diflucan, an antibiotic, and nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream. I wasn't able to immediately pick up the medications, and didn't begin treatment for another 10 hours or so. The next day I was still in moderate pain with extremely painful urination. I continued with the antibiotic and triamcinolone cream. Initially the cream gave me temporary relief.
when i spit in a glass of water-the saliva looks like a jelly fish, i have white stuff on my tongue (very light), and yeast like discharge in my panties (very light), when i wipe i see white bits. I have taken 200mg/day of diflucan for the past 5 days and now i have 150mg/day for 20 days left. does that sound like too much diflucan?
I have taken these over time......still have burning sensation. I am very nervous about this. Diflucan.......150 mg 3 times daily doxycycline........twice a day clindamyacin.....two pills twice a day Nystatin creme......once a day........ Terazol 7 day cream Clindese cream I don't know what else to do.........been on everything. I even put Genetian Violet down there too. i have used yogurt as a ****** also.
Oral candidiasis is generally associated with immune compromised status. Other than hiv and diabetes, there are many other medical conditions which may compromise the immune system. Antifungal agents are generally effective.
You also have to follow a strict sugar-free, yeast-free diet. Maybe you should ask your physician to prescribe you Diflucan or Nystatin. Good luck!
I took 3 diflucan 100 mg. then urgent care Dr prescribed nystatin. took it for a week. Then went to my primary care dr she prescibed nystatin again for a week because at that point I just had sore burning feeling on the tip of my tongue. since then a follow up with my primary care dr. she put me on diflucan 100 mg for 3 weeks. I have 5 pills let and still a sore tongue. I went to my dentist, got xrays cleaned teeth. he looked at my mouth and tongue didn't see anything.
I was on nystatin for 6 weeks and then took diflucan for a week and even did an oral nystatin for 7 days. I have just been to my regular doc and wondering if a dentist would be more helpful with this. Are there any over the counter remedies I can do too? Thanks!!
My daughter had thrush when she was a newborn as well, and dr. also prescribed Nystatin. It worked, but took a while. I also had to apply some topically to my bbs, because I was breastfeeding. You can keep passing it back and forth!
your doctor will probably have no problem letting you try nystatin or nystatin WITH diflucan. I've heard you can take high amounts of that pill with little risk. Good luck with that... my doctor looked at me stupid when I asked about Candida.. I know lots of doctors discount it but i'm glad you have a diagnosis.
I have had a year of cyclical break outs on my tongue of very painful flesh colored bumps on both sides of my tongue and my LLMD thinks it is yeast so I have been taking diflucan for 6 weeks and the bumps went and way and have not come back....until tonight. One has popped up and usually more follow the next day or two. Has anyone had anything like this or can someone make a suggestion of another pill for yeast that would cure this for me?
I supplement that with the Nystatin, and the combination of the two keeps it away, but if I stop taking the diflucan, it comes back in full force.
Hi! Yes, yeast can and does cause a rash and itching/burning sensation. Typically the areas affected are the groin area and under the breasts. Sometimes under the belly if there is a bit of extra "fluff". Nystatin powder of Tegretol shampoo can work very well in these areas. Diflucan is a great drug for treating yeast that's "everywhere". Colonoscopy won't cause yeast or GI problems, but is often done because of pre-existing GI problems. Hope this helps!
I am glad you asked this question. I am 9 yrs out from transplant and every time I have to go on an antibiotic (like for a UTI) I end up getting something else from the antibiotic. Right now, following 10 days of antibiotics for a UTI (Cipro) I have very bad thrush and am now on my 3rd bottle of Nystatin swish and swallow and have seen NO improvement at all. I am going to ask my dr for the mycelex troches when I see him this week. Good Luck to you.
Treatment includes topical administration of antifungal drugs such as clotrimazole (Femizole-7), miconazole (Monistat-Derm, Monistat Vaginal), nystatin, tioconazole (Vagistat Vaginal), or oral administration of drugs such as fluconazole (Diflucan) and amphotericin B. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
My doc gave me diflucan when I went back for recheck of ear infection & it wasn't better. New antibiotic to start while finishing the first one, nystatin + diflucan + keeping TIGHT control of my blood sugar has helped a lot, though not completely gone yet... I just finished last of 2nd antibiotic Monday, so I think in the next few days, it should be gone. btw, I DO and WAS using plain yogurt. ;) I'm not familiar with the cream you mentioned, does it have to be mixed by a pharmacist?
The second thought I would consider is candida--for this you might want to try one of the over the counter yeast products such as Nystatin cream. Monistat might help too. If you are not getting relief--your doctor might be able to provide a script for Diflucan which is safe during pregnancy. Good luck!
I have been prescribed Nystatin rinse with little or no effect, and Diflucan 200mg first day and 100mg for six following days. All no resolution. I have had three HIV tests August 11, 2008, August 29, 2008 and October 10, 2008 all negative. I did take a course of antibiotics for three weeks in mid-August to early September including Doxycycline. Two questions, is it typical for oral candidiasis to be tough to clear up?
Treatment needed to get rid of this is a very simple treatement of Nystatin Swish and Swallow and if Nystatin alone doesn't take care of it use Nystatin Swish and swallow and a Diflucan tablet as well which is an antimicrobial medication. If it is indeed Oral Thrush which I suspect it is and if you use these as directed your throat, mouth should be healed within just a few days. The Nystatin doesn't taste real great but it Will do the trick. These must be prescribed by your doctor.
The main thing I am wanting to know is what was used, for how long, in what dosage and what the die-off effects were. We are looking at S. Boulardi, Nystatin, Diflucan as our main options. Thank you for any help.
I was prescribed a round of amoxicillin for my tonsils, as well as two doses of Diflucan for potential yeast. About 2/3 of the way through the amoxicillin, I developed severe tongue pain and was told to take the Diflucan. I took one pill, noticed some improvement. When symptoms worsened, I was told to take another one. Same story. Was next prescribed Nystatin swish and swallow. Same story (took for 5 days).
In 2000, I used 200 mg Diflucan one per da. for six months, which cleared up the problem very effectively. I now use one 200 mg Diflucan tablet once each week to assure no return of the problem. I have been rash free for four years now.
I believe there may be a connection with yeast overgrowth and FM. I plan to test out the nystatin and diflucan and see if I feel better after killing the yeast. I am nervous about the die off effects. The whole yeast diet it basically avoiding all sugars, candies, and white bread/flours, and caffeine, and lots of other things should be avoided. I guess it just depends on what you can do. I can tell I'm going to have a hard time with the diet!
the above or Nystatin? After reaction to Diflucan am afraid to try again. Is there any other remedy. Of late cream doesn't seem to work but maybe I am not being diligent enough caring for the area. Sometimes I lay gauze in area to absorb the seeping & moisture. Is that wise? Last of all, is there any danger that this could turn into something more serious? I have never gone to dermatologist for this...should I?
and now sucrose free and i'm also doing a candida diet just in case this is all caused by antibiotics (I was on 3 months of antibiotics back in 2005) also I had some left over nystatin/diflucan (10 days worth) so I figured i'd do a colon cleanse sort of thing and hit the 2 really hard.. My ex-gf wants me to go to the mayo clinic in arizona..it's an idea...also debating if I should go to the University of Utah and get tested for SIBO/Lactose/Fructose/Sucrose breath tests...
I had requested a prescription of Nystatin 1 million units and Diflucan 200mg for some skin fungus. I only took the meds for 1 month. After the month on the anti-fungals my husband noticed I no longer had my nightly episodes of sleep apnea. It's been 14 months with no re-occurance. Hope this is helpful.
