Avatar n tn So It has been around 3-4 weeks and I still having symptoms. First I was taking Nystatin then my Doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. While I was taking this medications I felt like it was only preventing it from getting worse and not actually addressing the root cause. Just a couple days ago I stopped taking Fluconazole and my tongue and lips again started to get swollen. I have also been taking pro-biotics and have been eating natural yougurt.
Avatar n tn I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months. The red inflamed area has still not gone but is not painful anymore.. I have seen an internest, a dermatologist and an infectious disease specialist. Any suggestions?

Avatar f tn Hi. I’ve had oral thrush for 3 weeks now, been given Nystatin then Fluconazole, 50mg and finally Daktarin, I’ve still got white at the back of my tongue and I’ve also got the feeling of something stuck in my throat, it’s not painful but it is uncomfortable. Why won’t this white tongue go away.
Avatar m tn I have been to the doctor twice now to get it checked out. At first the doctor prescribe me some Fluconazole Tablets and Nystatin because she thought I had a yeast infection. After a month had gone by i have not seen an improvement. I went to the doctor again and saw another doctor. He prescribe to me clindamycin phosphate lotion. This also did not improve my symptom. Can someone tell me what's wrong with me.
Avatar f tn I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either. Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?
Avatar m tn You can try any of the topical antifungals like topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole or topical ketoconazole. Also keep the skin dry and wear cotton undergarments. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist as oral antifungals may be needed. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn He may instead prescribe a medication like Fluconazole which comes as a capsule. You can purchase Fluconazole 100mg (1 single dose) without a prescription from the pharmacist, but the doctor can prescribe a stronger and longer term use if this is required. Get it seen to so that you can get the correct diagnose and the correct treatment as soon as possible. Avoid kissing and oral sex to avoid passing it on.
Avatar n tn It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
Avatar m tn Very high fibre, mostly vegetarian. I don't eat sweet food like desserts, muffins, chocolate, ice-cream (except for special occasions) but I do drink Vitamin Water which is 5% sugar. Right now I feel sore and dead down there. Before this thrush came along, I wanted to have sex with my boyfriend all the time which enhanced our relationship. Now, I never want to and we haven't had sex for two weeks.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a mild yeast infection. My doctor prescribed fluconazole pills but it only helped a little bit. I'm still having symptoms. I think she mentioned that she could prescribe a cream. Is there a difference between over the counter creams vs prescription creams prescribed by a doctor?
Avatar n tn I get the symptoms for a couple of days and then they go away and come back a couple of days later. I have taken Fluconazole over 5 times. I obviously don't go to the doctor every time I feel something because my medical bill would just be insanely high. I went to the gyno again in April and she prescribed me a 10-day dose of Boric Acid which seemed to work. After the treatment finished I continued my everyday life and began to be sexually active again.
Avatar f tn The lesion returned again in the same spot I went to the OBGNY they took a sample of the virus and i was prescribed fluconazole 150 mg and nystatin-triamcinolone 100,000 unit/g-0.1 % topical cream again i was told it may be herpes. Hyphae/Candida was detected. And now again i have a lesion on my outer vagina lip in the same spot reddish and looks irritated like it was scratched and i'm worried. What could the lesion be? do i really have herpes? is it a reaction?
Avatar f tn 2nd dr I went to tested me and I tested positive for yeast she gave me Nystatin for 10 days and patches are still there. 3rd dr after looking at my throat said I did not have oral thrush I have tried to scrape these patches off but they are adhered firmly to my mouth. The week before I had oral sex I had been to the dentist and was feeling bad so took amoxicillin then got to filling better and quit taking it. Also I started using a mouth wash which I have never used before.
Avatar n tn I had an oral course of antibiotics that did not work (Cefoclox-6 tablets) and anti-fungal tablet (fluconazole -2 tablets in 1 week) treating yeast infections, but the symptoms are not are not subsiding. This is for the past two weeks with persistent irritation.I applied canestan cream, and Nystatin cream too. But to no help. What do I do now? Please reply a solution.
Avatar f tn After that I noticed a white film in my mouth along with a soreness on my tongue. I suspected thrush so the doctor perscribed Nystatin. I started the nystatin but to be honest I am not a good medicine taker and therefore did not take it successfully (5x/day). Since it continued I went to my dentist who gave me a oral cancer check with visalite and they found abnormal areas.
