difference between percocet and roxicodone

What is the difference between Oxycontin and percocet? I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?

My pain management doctor recently switched me to hydrocodone 10-500 due to pharmacy crack downs and I am itching like crazy and having bad nightmares and don't sleep well and grind my teeth bad. I must be having an allergic reaction? I'm not allergic to anything but this now. I'm suffering in pain cause I can't take these side effects! I was on Oxycodone 10-325 and didn't have any problems.

i had knee surgery at end of Dec. and am just now coming off the pain pills and am going nuts. I'm sure its the percocet but am alittle confused about the difference between Percocet and the oxycontin as they both have said....OXYCODONE... on the label is the oxy just a time release percocet?

The Only Difference Between These Two Medications that I see is the: inactive ingredients. For the record, I do not get any euphoria symptoms as the meds are too busy fighting the pain, and I do not abuse my medication. After approximately 6 years on the Percocet, it is time to go up a notch. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I wanted to know what the difference is between hydrocodone and like-oxycontin or oxycodone, Percocet, tramadol, is this all just types of hydrocodone? All I ever took was hydrocodone....

Anyway my question is ER gave me flexiral for spasms and 30 5mg of Percocet. I only will take them as needed or as prescribed. Will this amount cause me have withdrawal again. Original i was extremely naive. I never want with as long as i live. So will my body become dependent again?

roxicet is percocet, roxicodone is oxycodone. Roxicet and Roxicodone are slang so the person at the clinic may never have heard of it. Keep posting daily and we will all help you get through this. I was feeling great 2 days into stopping the vicodin I thought I could quit smoking too, not a good idea, I caved on that after 2 days. I said let me take care of 1 addiction at a time.

s not spreadbout so far between doses that us what I would start with if I was doin it so say you r takin 75 a day now u can go to 70 with the percs and take it 7 times a day for a week and then 6 a day fir a week and so on.

Actually the molecule difference between oxycontin and heroin is 3, not so similar with percacet .......... and how you use i.e orally snorting smoking oxycontin has a huge impact on your addiction and the tolerance and the effects on your body. There is a difference between these drugs.

You should be on an extended release medicine and then use the roxicodone for break-thru pain. This is the way it is traditionally prescibed. I am surprised your doctor has not done this for you. it will greatly decrease your pain levels. I suggest talking to your doctor about changing your medication regimen to include an extended release medicine and this will help you alot.

Roxicodone is a brand; oxycodone is the generic. I'm not sure if roxicodone has Tylenol in it (Percocet does; oxycodone does not.) I don't find morphine helpful for my pain. It also gave me a constant, dull headache, which wouldn't go away with ibuprofen or Tylenol. Oxycodone works best for my pain. I gave up the long-acting meds totally for a number of reasons. I may use them again but for now, I'm okay with the oxycodone and other non-narcotic things.

I am on a very high dose of methadone and my doctor said that it does not hurt my liver. However I am also on a high dose of roxicodone and my doctor said that is harmful to the liver.I would appreciate any input.

I have a friend who just found out she is pregnant and shes addicted to percocet 30's. She asked her doctor what to do and they said quitting will hurt the baby since it will put too much stress on her body. They are having her go to get the methedone done though since even though it is not safe during pregnancy it is safer than taking the pills. The doctor is also cautioning her that there is a very increased chance of birth defects. I would contact your doctor and see what they think.

This is about my husband. Over a year ago, he was prescribed Oxycodone (or roxicodone?) 15 mg (the kind without the tylenol) for an accident he was in. He hasnt been on that for awhile, but still has some left from before. About 3 months ago, he got prescribed the regular percocet 10mg for cronic pain. They drug test you every month there and he goes this week.

I have 800mg ibuprophen,it works sometimes.My back has no catilage left between my discs and my DR says I'll be on pain meds the rest of my life,I just don't want to increase what I'm already on.

I feel like I have back slid but the hydro just feels useless to withdrawal compared to the roxi. I am taking between 40 and 60 mg a day of the hydro. Started 2 weeks ago with 80 and down to that. Am I still making ground by going up a little on the hydro or was I doing better with the roxi. I know that the oxy (roxi is percocet without the tylenol) is a stronger drug than the hydro but I was hoping to stick to 45mg or lower the rest of the way out.

Your other medications are in no way contraindicated as a combination. The only difference between Percocet and Suboxone is that Percocet is a pure opiate whereas the Suboxone is an opioid receptor antagonist as well. My question to you is whether you trust your doctor and if not, why not? You need to decide if you want to continue to take his/her advice. Nothing in what the doctor recommended was questionable, so what is it that leads you to be nervous? Is s/he not open to your questions?
