hyaluronic-acid

Avatar f tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. EUFLEXXA is a high purity hyaluronan, also called hyaluronic acid (HA) or sodium hyaluronate. HA is the natural substance found in the fluid that surrounds a healthy knee joint and helps cushion, lubricate, and protect the knee as you move throughout the day. You should not receive treatment with EUFLEXXA if you have: A known allergy to hyaluronate preparations, or knee joint infections, infections or skin disease in the area of the injection site.
Avatar m tn 15% sodium hyaluronate, and costs about $24 for three 10 ml vials, again at Costco. That product is made by Bayer, and I am not sure is available in the US, but I would think there must be other similar and reasonably priced products. Your other option to solve this issue would be to get a refractive lens exchange, even though you do not have cataracts. Most likely you would have to pay the full cost of the procedures.
Avatar n tn Hyalgan itself is not a pain killer it is a solution of sodium hyaluronate. Hyaluronate is a natural chemical found in the body. Hyalgan is one of the hyaluronates used in viscosupplementation. Hyalgan is injected directly into the knee joint to restore the cushioning and lubricating properties of normal joint fluid. Hyalgan was FDA approved way back in May of 1997.Hyalgan injections are typically given once a week, one week apart, for a total of five injections.
Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
1083310 tn?1260107282 The first time it was like the difference between night and day. It helped with the pain (I have osteoarthritis in knee) and made movement tons easier. It worked well for over 6 months. However, on the second injection I became allergic to it and my leg from just about two inches above my ankle to about 4 inches above my knee swelled so much the skin was more than taunt and it was red. (Can't have anymore of the synvisc.) Trying to hold off on knee replacement as long as I can.
Avatar f tn Most embryos will divide, even if they are abnormal, so it is important to separate out the abnormal fertilizations because they are abnormal and would not produce a pregnancy. And after about 20 hours you will not be able to tell the difference between the embryos.

Avatar f tn Try to stay well hydrated as dehydration can cause more premature beats as well keep sodium to a minimum. Manage any stomach issues like acid reflux and work on your stress and anxiety. These are the biggest triggers and if you can minimize them you may be able to help alleviate the extra beats. If your electrolytes are imbalance that could be part of the problem as well so if you haven't had a blood test in a while you may want to get one to make sure all your levels are in line.
Avatar f tn Hello fedupinpa SUPARTZ Joint Fluid Therapy is a non-surgical, non-pharmacological pain-relieving therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee. It is made of highly purified, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronan or HA). Hyaluronan is a natural chemical found in joint tissues and in the fluid that fills the joints (synovial fluid). The body’s own hyaluronan acts like a lubricant and shock absorber in synovial fluid of a healthy joint.
Avatar f tn There are however biological differences between the different subtypes of HCV genotype 1, which are related to differences in their nucleotide and amino acid sequences. Importantly, differences between subtype 1a and 1b (by far the most frequently encountered genotype 1 subtypes in clinical practice) include different efficacies of antiviral drugs and different resistance profiles to such drugs.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar f tn My pain doc said my vitamin B was low and wrote me an rx for Metanx, which is a vitamin B suppliment. I'm all for it. Except when I went to pick up the script the pharmacy informed me that my insurence won't cover it and it costs $123.00 a month. Wowsa. That's a fancy vitamin!! I asked him what the difference is between that and an over the counter vitamin B complex and he didn't really have much of an answer for me.

Avatar m tn Some patients swear by the joint supplements, such as chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, and glucosamine. There is some anecdotal evidence that these may help thicken the cartilage, but no strict research has ever shown this to be true.
Avatar m tn This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions: 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery.
