Avatar n tn Both Cardizem and Cardizem CD (a controlled release form of the drug) and there is Cardizem LA that is an extended release, once a day medication. Cardizem CD and Cardizem also used to treat high blood pressure. Thanks for your question. If you have any followup questions or comments you are welcome to respond. take care.
Avatar n tn m experiencing is with my heart rate. since the ablation proceedure my heart rate elevated to 100-110 bpm. my EP prescribed cardizem cd and it is keeping it under control now. the side effects are what's causing me problems. my toes and lower legs are feeling numb. I tried metoprol and diovan hct and although by bp is in the normal range my heart rate is elevated unless I continue on the cardizem cd.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago my Cardio doctor changed my medication from Cardizem LA to Diltiazem CD. I know it's the generic brand of Cardizem. Anyway he raised my dosage from 240 mg. to 300 mg. For a whole week I had some terrible side effects. I blacked out once while sitting at my computer and then I came close to blacking out on a daily basis. I also felt off balance. I ended up going to my primary doctor, not for this, but for something else. I guess it was a follow up appointment.
Avatar n tn EKG taken by cardiologist as precation was normal. Cardiologist is having me drop Cardizem LA (180 mg) for Carvedilol (6.25mg 2x per day). Any reason to think this change could trigger arythmia or something else really kooky? I am told this is an excellent medication and typically very well tolerated. I tried Toprol XL before for several months. Did not tolerate it well, mainly due to severe nightmares. Once removed from the Toprol, nightmares stopped.
Avatar n tn I went to My family physician and he was very concerned about my blood pressure which was 162/106 at the time of my visit with a heart rate of 129. He put me on Cardizem CD 180mg ER once a day at bedtime. I have taken two doses. My blood pressure is already coming down, but my pulse rate isn't thus far. I know it takes 7 to 10 days for the Cardizem to reach full affect, but I am wondering if the problem is the Toprol is still in my system. I took the Toprol for six months.
Avatar m tn What is the difference between a brain mri and mra? Is the difference based on whether or not contrast is used? Ive had a brain mri with contrast to rule out tumors and any other serious issues that may be related to my constant head pressure/aches, floaters, and other symptoms. The doctor wants to schedule a mra with and without contrast. If both use the same mri tunnel for the procedure, how do they vary?
Avatar f tn All of asudden my heart rate increased 108 to 112 resting. Had a nuclear stree test done results are normal. Doctor had already increased my Cardizem Cd to 360 in Am <180 at night. Heart rate was good for 2days ,around 80 . Yesterday I flt like my chest was going to explode. Took Maltha and 2 nitro, pain went away.. Many times a day I fel a chest discomfort that lasts for seconds, sometimes it feels like someone blew a bubble in my chest.
Avatar f tn I was just put on 180 mg. of Cardizem LA once a day and was curious if anyone else here was taking this medication? If so, what side effects do or did you have? So far (only the first day) I haven't had any. Also, did the medication work for you as far as lowering your blood pressure?
Avatar f tn Thanks, I only started the Metoprolol because I would get episodes of tachycardia that were very annoying but my heart was structurally normal, so guess it was just an electrical thing. I used to never have issues with erections but noticed after the Metoprolol that I lost some interest and also my erections were harder to maintain. Also, I still get the annoying palpitations so maybe the Metoprolol isn't the best for me.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. I just don't know what to think. The elevated bp is concerning me. Last night it was 164/94 but HR was 67 so that parts okay except I am used to the slow HR and it feels awful to me when it gets over 65 now. I guess I am going to have to just grin and bear it as at least in this area the cardizem cd isn't available. I am upset as finally my very labile bp had stabilized and HR was doing what we need to avoid the fainting spells that come with elevated HR.
Avatar f tn Recently I have started having heart palpatations of 215 that last for 15 minutes. This has only happened twice and they were 3 months apart. My cardiologist has put me on cardizem la 120 mg to see if that will keep my heart rate from becoming too high. I have had a heart cath, stress test, echocardiogram and every test that can be done has. Are my palpations of 215 coming from my anxiety disorder? What do I need to do if I have another attack?
Avatar n tn can i take propafenone 150mg at the same time i take cardizem cd 240 mg caps /sr 24hr?
1744581 tn?1311302411 Cardizem CD 240 mg, 1x/day Protonix 80 mg, 1x/day Lamictal 100 mg 1x/day Klonopin, .
237039 tn?1264258057 Not that site. I tried the Cardizem LA 360mg once and the side effects were miserable. I had terrible chest pains and skipped beats the full 24 hours. My heart felt bruised afterward. I haven't tried it again since. I went back to taking the Norvasc. I am just curious though, if the Raynauds is spastic in nature, could there be a connection. I think there could be, but then I am just wondering. My husband says that's dangerous! (For me to wonder.
Avatar f tn I know PVC means premature ventricular contraction, but is this something to worry about? I went to see my cardio doctor yesterday and he raised my medication (Cardizem LA) from 180 mg. to 240 mg. a day. Every time I see him he does an EKG and shows me the irregular heartbeats. To me it looks totally different than a normal EKG and I don't understand why since January this has been happening to me.
Avatar f tn I have tried BB but too many side effects, and I am currently taking cardizem CD 180 mg (CCB). Typically my resting heart rate is between 95-110, but often just increases to 120's 140's. Oh, and I am a 40y.o female.
197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
402504 tn?1241996524 I called the doctor and ran it by him and he told me to skip a dose of the Cardizem for 1 day and that brought my rate back up to 60. I do jump up out of my sleep sometimes also but I have sleep apnea and if my CPAP mask leaks from movement that will cause me to wake up. My cardiologist said my body is adjusted to the slow rate, however you are having some more symptoms than I do so I would get a second opinion.
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor... just an afib patient who has done a lot of reading. I'll try to answer your questions but you should also get answers directly from your cardiologist (or a second opinion from another doctor). 1) Your wife's cardiologist has proposed a reasonable treatment approach. You haven't mentioned wheteher your wife is in persistent afib or sporadic.
765775 tn?1366024691 I have high blood pressure and have been on Cardizem CD 240 and Hyzaar 100/12.5 for about 17 years. I also have mitral valve prolapse. My resting heart rate has always been around 60 even before medication as I was a weightlifter and football player when I was young. Since I have been confined to the bed from surgery my heart rate has been dropping into the 40's however my EKG is always normal other than the Bradycardia.
