1095404 tn?1333992839 I wanted to get my body properly prepared this time and a nurse told me to have a look at Marilyn Glenvilles site, lots of info but the thing I wanted to tell you all is that if you research the benefits of fish oil DHA etc you will see that all the info tells you the same thing, IT CAN HELP WITH MISCARRIAGE and not only that its fantastic for a range of ailments!! Im currently taking my vitamins and of course the fish oil, I'll give anything a go!!
Avatar m tn Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding. Experts do agree on one thing, take omega 3 acids from foods rather than supplements. Without a doubt, having enough Omega 3 acids in your diet does improve health.

7062279 tn?1388370086 re afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply). It is perfectly safe and even encouraged to help baby grow healthy. I take fish oil capsules on the side, in addition to my prenatal vitamin.

668044 tn?1225913014 I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!
Avatar f tn The fetus’ need for DHA is greatest in the last trimester of the pregnancy as fetal brain cells are being created at a prodigious rate (more than 250,000 nerve cells per minute). If you don’t have adequate supplies of DHA in your body, your fetus’ brain is going to have trouble keeping up with the growing demand for DHA building blocks. Thus, pregnancy is a critical time to take fish oil supplements.
1225070 tn?1344709174 I have read both that they are good and that they are bad, so I asked my doctor and he told me to take Expecta DHA. It has the same if not better benefits and it comes from a plant and not from fish so there is not any mercury or anything bad in it. I never really got a straight answer on the fish oil from him as to why or if it really was bad, so I stopped taking it just in case it was bad; however, DH takes it now as it is beneficial to him!
Avatar n tn EPA and DHA. The best source for both is fish oil. Aim for 1,000-3,000 mg total DHA and EPA. That's three to nine capsules a day of most brands. Take 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate and 1,200 mg of chondroitin a day. Take 500-1,500 mg of MSM per day. Also take Take 400 to 800 mg a day of Sam-e. A product from New Chapter called Zyflamend, contains rosemary, curcumin, and ginger that are anti-inflammatories.
Avatar f tn t eat seafood. They have 240mg of DHA and 360mg of EPA in 2 capsules. My doctor told me to take them, but online I've been finding that the fish oil and other things in the over the counter supplements may be bad during pregnancy. The pharmacist told me to stop taking them and check with my Dr but my Dr told me to take them. Just wondering if anyone else is taking extra Omega 3 Fatty acids, and if so, what kind?

Avatar f tn The types of omega-3s called DHA and EPA, have the strongest health benefits. The best food source of both DHA and EPA is cold water fatty fish such as salmon, sardines, mackeral, tuna. You can also take Omega 3 supplements. 200 mcg of selenium per day has been found to reduce TPO Antibodies in numerous clinical trials. Selenium is a necessary component of the enzymes that removes iodine molecules from T4 converting it into T3.
Avatar f tn My prenatals don't have DHA, should I switch from rainbow light?
Avatar f tn His FSH is now 46. The acupuncturist told us that benefits of acupuncture are experienced long-term and therefore at present we may not get the most accurate results. Has anyone had acupuncture treatment for male infertility and does anyone know how long we should wait before my husband takes the tests again in order to get accurate results?
Avatar n tn Some products use Erythrulose combined with the DHA. Erythrulose works identically to DHA on the skin surface, but develops more slowly. The two chemicals used together may produce a longer lasting sunless tan. Dihydroxyacetone or Erythrulose may cause contact dermatitis. First time users of sunless tanning products should apply them to a small patch of skin and wait 24 hours before a full body application. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 1st child. Just had my first prenatal visit over a week ago. Doc said he wanted me start omega pills & handed me a flyer with different brand name options. The one that stood out was Nordic Naturals. I went to their website, click the pregnancy tab & reviewed the options for pregnancy which were Cod liver oil & Prenatal DHA. My best friend who already has a child told me the cod liver oil was the best so I decided to buy it.
Avatar n tn I did 1 a day and got severely constipated than switched to prenatal gummies but didn't know they didn't have iron so i was told to take iron n once again i was severely constipated so now i take ones from my drs office. They're Kaiser's prenatals and constipation gone!!
Avatar m tn Our studies may represent the first to specifically compare the capacity of EPA versus DHA to prevent NASH. It appears that DHA, which can also be converted to EPA in the human body, is one of the most valuable for this purpose." The issues have taken center stage as the weight of Americans continues to rise, with a related increase in the incidence of fatty liver disease and liver damage.
13663674 tn?1431713461 I take those too @Destynee2015
122065 tn?1241385329 Yes, I do take ******* Omega Guard which is a full spectrum of seven Omega-3's including DHA and EPA. I understand that there have been many studies on the benefits of Omega Fish oil on the eyes and body as a whole, so I started using it sometime ago. I'll continue with that and give the Restasis a good try. I have no risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes or obesity, so I think your suggestion of 2 a day is fine.
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
