Can a deviated septum that makes you breathe thru the mouth cause gringing of the teeth and cheeks?
My ENT doctor want to do the surgery and then see if the grinding stops.. If it doesn't help he wants me to have a sleep apnea test.
Shouldn't the test be done before the surgery?

Would like to have the real scoop from real people who have had this done. I'm not looking to beautify my nose, just be able to breath thru it, not snore, and not constantly blowing it. The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
My husband had deviated septum surgery several years ago to help aleviate his severe headaches which are connected to his sinuses. It didn't help AT ALL. After several different doctors, I was told that I had trigeminal neuralgia as well as a deviated septum. I eventually had laser surgery for the trigeminal neuralgia, but the a facial pain continues. The nerve pain has subsided, but I continue to have facial pain on my left side. The pain seems to get worse if I lean my head to that side. This has caused me to see my GP and which he referred to a ENT. The ENT doc said I have a severe deviated septum. He said there would need to have surgery for this which I said Ok hopefully thats the issue but I have been experiencing headaches in the back of my head and upper neck while sometimes they show up at the top of my head. The headaches arent severe to the point where I am in pain but I do feel them. I am fearing the worst that it could be cancer or a tumor.
Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
I havent used that nosespray in over 6 months.

So I went to the ENT today and had them stick that scope up my nose and apparently I have a pretty bad deviated septum ... he gave me a script for a nasal spray and an antibiotic but I'm not sure what the antibiotic is for, I don't like taking antibiotics if I don't have to so I'm hesitant to take that.
He mentioned surgery but for the possible future ...
I'm hoping the nasal spray will help the allergies and the post nasal drip ...
I have been getting sinus infections for about 3.5 years now and they're only getting worse. My CT scan was negative for chronic sinusitis but showed a slight deviated septum with a bone spur. The congestion was not in my sinuses but rather in my upper nasal cavity. My nose isn't realIy runny but I get a ton of post nasal drip that makes me feel as though I am drowning. I got allergy testing done and I am not allergic to anything.
