Common Questions and Answers about Dealing with death anxiety

Avatar m tn I am also Bipolar, many meds prescribed for this dis-order have marked sedative effect. In my case I was prescribed an anti-psychotic and a mood stablizer I had trouble staying awake. the only person qualified to answer your question is your doctor, Bi-polar is a serious condition, what works for me may be useless to others. See your new Psych as soon as possible as any advice you may receive in on-line forums will be subjective, sorry no easy answers, see your Doc ASAP.
4952411 tn?1361471481 Yea, this is true I am only 22 and have been dealing with anxiety and deppression since I was little. I mean if you can find a anxiety medication that will actually help you then go for it but just make sure you can trust yourself first. Some medicaiton can and will make you feel worse unfortunatly lots of anti-anxiety and anti-depressants can casue suicidal tendencies. I do not recomment ativan, mainly because it is a depressant itself.
328799 tn?1276565732 Being nervous about death is a very common worry in my opinion, but the odds of you having a serious problem are EXTREMELY low, especially at your age. In my experience with anxiety, it was my Grandfather's death that triggered my fear of death and kickstarted my experience with this. Be careful what you read on the internet; there is so much information out there and it can be hard to filter; and I don't think you have heard the end of the story with Britney Murphy...
Avatar f tn for the baby and how much will effect him. I usually a very emotional person when dealing with death and I feel like a horrible person for not allowing myself to feel bad. What do I do???
Avatar f tn Hello.. I know I have severe anxiety especially a phobia dealing with stds especially HIV all I do is Google hiv all day long for the past month..
1880594 tn?1321160655 That just proved to me how anxiety can trick us into thinking we have something wrong with us, when it is just anxiety to begin with. So somehow anxiety can literally debilitate our body (but our bodies are not literally damaged in those moments of pain, like we perceive it to be). The ER doctor told me that it would take year of stress to cause actual damage to the heart. I assume that true with most parts of the body, considering the heart is the most vital.
Avatar n tn My mother(age 47) has drasticly gone down hill in the past 4yrs. It seemed to all happen at once and in the past year things have gotten worse. Heart disease runs strong in my family, not many have lived past 50yrs old.My mom has hypertension, high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, and heart disease to name a few. Avatar f tn Hi, I've been dealing with anxiety since March and I had those "I'm going to have a heart attack moments". But for the last two weeks I've been able to kick anxiety's butt! You see what I do know is, just accept it. If I think I'm going to have a heart attack, I don't get scared, I think just think if it happens it happens I can't control it. If I think I'm going drop dead, well it's my time to go. That's basically my mind set.

548289 tn?1215936814 Have anyone ever tried dealing with Depression and or Anxiety without meds.? I have been doing it for a while now and its not getting worst... It's not totally gone, but it has lessen a good bit... Thank God! God is the one helping me :)... Anyway, I think once I understood what was happening to me, I decided to think myself positive out of it, did I word that right? LOL! Anyway...
Avatar f tn Kk, I know exactly what you are going through because I am going through the same thing. I am 60 days out and have had severe panic attacks the past few months. I think the main reason is we are used to dulling our brains and really not dealing with "real life" problems with our brain in it's natural state. We lost a lot of our coping skills by NOT coping the way we should.
Avatar m tn Hello, doctors and epidemiologists around the world overwhelmingly agree that HIV is only transmitted by unprotected vaginal or anal penetrative sex, sharing needles or mother to child. Oral sex is not considered a risky activity, because there are no reports of people getting HIV by doing it. There is no need to worry or get tested for HIV, however unprotected oral sex might carry a small risk for other STDs, you could ask in the STD Forum if you wish.
Avatar f tn You don't say how long you've been on these meds and it may just be the adjustment period you're dealing with right now. Please call your doctors office and let them know about these symptoms. You may just have to wait these out or perhaps your dosage needs adjusting. When you say that you think about one thing until it's solved and then you need think about something else..........that sounds pretty normal to me. I think most of us do the same thing.

Avatar f tn For me, the most important step I took in dealing with this, was to go through talk therapy. Anxiety can be such a scary and confusing subject but learning about it and confronting it makes it much less daunting in my experience with this. In my opinion, we tend to fear what we don't know about, but the more you know about why you are thinking the way you are, it becomes much less scary and you start to see how to make progress with it....keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Just like falling in love takes time so does dealing with a passing of a loved one.Just opposite ways of feeling.Love and loss, two parts of life that both hurt. For loving anyone or anything, such as a pet can lead to pain. All feelings lead to pain and despair, eventually. So do we stop feeling, stop loving, stop caring,no we just learn to adjust to our new lives without that loved one that pet, that friend.whom ever.Death ends a life, not a relationship.
