I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself.

Hi. I'm just curious in people's opinions of something. I am an ex smoker. No longer have the habit. My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die.

Re-reading what I wrote and feel a bit daft! I do agree with everyone else here! I was ignorant myself of the dangers of it, so am more educated now thanks to the good people here. I feel stupid for stating that it's legal. Alcohol is legal. It almost killed me and TG I haven't had a drink for several years. I wish I could take my post down. I agree that it is something to be more concerned with, and feel like my post was way too blase.

i am a heavy smoker before but right now i do still smoke up to 7 sticks a day, i really wanted to stop smoking already but unfortunately until now i still smoke but not that much compare before

I was a poster boy for poor cardiac behavior. I drank huge quanities of coffee for years, and smoked cigarettes and cigars plus some other stuff as a young man. I was a commercial fisherman and needed the boosts to keep going, but eventually it will catch up with you.

I am only drinking them at night because it was suggested to me by someone to absolutely NOT quit cold turkey because of the dangers of quitting abruptly. Now I am getting conflicting information. I don't mind just quitting..... I really don't I was just under the assumption that this could be somewhat dangerous. Thanks for your comments you two..... Fortunately one of my co-workers is very involved in AA and sponsors people. I have already talked with him.

I have so much i want to share with almost every post! Most of all, I realize what most of you have, it's not easy to find this type of support in your personal life.

This may be a good opportunity to start educating your 2 year old on the dangers of cigarette smoking. Teach him not to ever pick them up, especially when he’s older and others around him may be smoking.

I disagree with the comment that we should accept it and not try to educate people about the dangers of smoking while pregnant. There are a lot of really young moms on here and notall do know all the risks with smoking.

So, here I am, for the probably 4th time tapering off a 8-10/day hydro habit. I am wondering...is this anything like quitting smoking? I smoked for 23 years, and could not imagine life without my "best friends", my cigarettes. I mean...what would I do when the phone rang, when I got in the car, after I was done eating, when I went out, sat next to the pool, etc etc. I remember thinking how will I EVER ENJOY life again without my cigarettes.

SIDS as well as second hand smoke dangers to you and you baby are important considerations in maintaining health for both of you. There are good prescription options for quitting smoking if your husband is willing to discuss them with his doctor. Chantix has had great success and well as Wellbutrin and quitting will keep him healthier for his baby too. Good luck!

Why risk something that has been scientifically proven to affect an unborn fetus? Science was a whole lot different for our parent's generation, scientist know so much more about the dangers of smoking than before. I just couldn't see myself taking chances like that knowing as many negative stories about it.

Hi there, My daughter and her BF had a roomate that smoked that stuff. It's not good. Apparently it is herbs with something that they call synthetic THC. A bunch of chemicals. Here in Utah they are making it illegal because it's considered hazerdous. Google "smoking spice dangers" and there is alot of stuff on it. I think it is telling that there is a push in some states to legalize pot, and yet they are banning that stuff right and left.

I was in and out of the hospital nonstop. My ob dr finally told me to try smoking a little bit of weed for the naseua Meaning not to smoke it to get high just to help the sickness. Which thankfully my sickness stopped before I had to try it. But I doubt my dr would tell me to if it was going to cause problems with my pregnancy. I will say it was def not her first choice in telling me.

Look at it this way - the fact that he's told you is a very positive thing. Between sixteen and about twenty-four I tried marijuana, speed and coke, all on a few occasions... but I'd never tell my parents that! The fact that your son has told you is a sign that you have a good relationship. The fact that I tried them doesn't mean I'm a waster (and the fact that I smoked weed doesn't mean I was dumb enough to stick needles in my veins either), and it's done me no harm.
