I have been on40Mg of fluoxetine for several years . My doctor started me on 30 Mg of cymbalta which has progressed to 60 mg per day. I think it has helped but am experiencing some dizziness. Is it a drug interaction?
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! so dr put me on cymbalta and i take adhd med....cymbalta did nothing after raising dose...and nothing...so since cymbalta they said also was for my anxiety they switched me to prozac (fluoxene) (400mg a day...that's max per day)....so thats prozac, tramadol and adhd stimulant...which brings me to my point.....i very quickly each hour of each day became extremely ill...extreme fatigue, vomiting, shortness of breath, dizzy, shakey, blurred vision....the list goes on...
Are the symptoms I am experiencing a side effect of sertraline? I am on day 16 of taking 50mg sertraline after switching from cymbalta to try and find a saferdrug to try for pregnancy. Week one I was emotional but that settled down and week two was manageable and i felt generally calmer. However by day 14 anxiety smptoms worsened and i am feeling flushed in the face and tingly in arms and waking early feeling unable to cope with nerves and sweating. Should I stick it out?

The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean. I started back on the Cymbalta yesterday, b/c my depression was overwhelming and my meaness was clearly taking a toll on my husband and 4 year old.
Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
I have been on four different medications; the first one was Lexapro, which made me extremely tired, then Cymbalta which made me extremely paranoid, a generic version of Zoloft, I can't remember the name which I gained 15 to 20 pounds before I realized it was the medicine, and the latest one is fluoxetine(? generic Prozac) which doesn't appear to be helping, I'm still anxious (crabby) so I went off that one as well.
My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night
So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.

Since January 2009 I have come completely off various SSRI's to deal with my OCD and depression. Since 2005 I have been taking the following medications: Fluoxetine, Seroquel, Benzapine, Zoloft & Geoden among others. As stated since January 2009 I have come off the SSRI's and have experienced some extremely horrid and disgusting withdrawal affects as well as side affects during the period I took them.
What SSRI are you on? I'm on fluoxetine but I'm wondering if I need to up my dosage. The irritability has definitely gotten worse in the last week or so.
I cannot seem to kick the Daytime sleepiness. I am taking 40 mg, fluoxetine, 150 bupropion. When I was on the bupropion with lamictal it seemed like I had less of this sleepiness.
Is there a possibility that lamictal may help? Anyone with experience on this? Should I up the fluoxetine, up the bupropion, switch bupropion for lamictal , add lamictal, up bupropion?
