Avatar n tn I have been on Crestor for 2 years. The last 4 months I have been tired, body aches, mainly legs, depression. Im on my 3rd cold since the end of December which is unusual for me. All my blood work came back fine except my cholesterol was up despite being on Crestor which I took every day. My dr is suggesting that I stop the Crestor for a month and see how I feel at the end of this. Has anyone else been through this?
Avatar n tn I am 57 and going through menopause. I have pains in my legs(muscle aches), my right arm and right knee cap. Sometimes it so difficult to walk the stairs. Sometimes at night my arms ache and my fingers especially the right gets numb so it disturbes my sleep. I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes. I get tired very easily. I was on Crestor and my husband told me to stop taking it. I am really worried. Can you help?
Avatar f tn t remember, then Crestor, and now something else, but the doctor keeps changing due to complications it causes. He had some bad muscle and joint aches and it was a side effect of the medication, however they left him on for 1 month to 6 weeks and did lots of blood work to determine each time before they took him off, but his dr says if there are any achy side effects to write it down and give it a couple of days and then make an appointment to discuss them. So perhaps you can do that.
Avatar m tn Hello, My wife is a diabetic (Type 1) and she does not have other major issues currently health wise. Since recently she’s complaining of having body aches, specifically in the arm muscle, a nerve on the neck and lower back area. We consulted doctor and performed an ultra sound and also started physiotherapy. (She says those pains are there when touches those areas also) . Still no proper cure. She takes insulin, Cresto and pressure medication Ramipril.
Avatar n tn I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs. Has anyone experienced difficulties with this? Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn However, patients, particularly those with risk factors for statin-induced myopathy, should be warned of the potential for rhabdomyolysis and told to report immediately any muscle pain, muscle weakness or cramps, or dark urine. If rhabdomyolysis is suspected, the drug should be stopped immediately, and appropriate medical management should be instituted as well as a work-up of predisposing risk factors.
Avatar m tn Neuropathy is evaluated for based on thorough examination and history, with ancillary testing as appropriate. Crestor can also lead to muscle aches, and this would be supported by an elevated creatine kinase on blood testing. Drug-induced lupus is diagnosed based on specific laboratory critera; a positive ANA alone is not diagnostic of DILE. But if the diagnosis has been confirmed, DILE can lead to a variety of symptoms as you know, and many of your symptoms do not sound neurologic in origin.
Avatar f tn After electrograms, changes in cholestrol medication,( lipitor, crestor,), now on zetia my tests keep coming in high.Outside of my lower extremities aches, which I credit to arthritis, I feel fine. Both doctors, arthritis and cardiologist, keep drawing blood with these rates still climbing. After a year of this circle, and being a believer in preventive mediciene, my concern is should I be concerne?
Avatar f tn Thank you. I'm on my third statin, Pravastatin, because I couldn't tolerate Lipitor or Crestor (severe muscle aches). I was allowed to stop statins entirely for a month, but had to go back on them as my cholesterol shot up, even though I'm careful with my diet and am exercising. I have a family history on both sides of very high cholesterol, and my doctor said you can't do anything about genetics. I will pick up some CoQ10 immediately.
10996785 tn?1432812977 Hey guys. I post in different communities here. I know that it's known that lipitor has the side-effect of muscle tiredness and aches. Has anyone else have to deal with this? Man it's off the hook. I almost am paralyzed fro, lipitor. This horrible and I would like to talk to someone who's been through it. This is a very under-rated affliction IMO. I've been tested and it doesn't look like I have the Rabadolosis<sp? That spelling isn't even close.
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar n tn If there is any relationship beyond coincidence, perhaps it is that medications like diuretics to treat hypertension and heart disease can cause dehydration and electrolyte disturbances which can predispose one to night time cramps. Additionally, muscle aches are known side affects of some cholesterol medications like lipitor and crestor. Its a very astute observation on your part.
Avatar n tn Last thing you want to take is a statin drug like Crestor or Lipitor which have known to cause serious, serious muscle problems and have even been linked to ALS aka Lou Gherig's Disease which will kill you in about 2-3 years due to paralysis! Beware! Not everything that the doctors say are safe truly are. Just listen to the disclaimer in Lipitor commercials. It is unbelievable that the general population are unaware of the dangers of cholesterol lowering drugs!
Avatar n tn Heart issues are not the only cause of an increase in CPK. The enzyme is also released by skeletal muscle.
Avatar f tn Her freet4 usually ran high and she had many muscle aches in theighs and calves. She was not converting enough of the t4 (Synthroid) to t3(active thyroid hormone) within the body. Her doctor never checked her t3, just assumed it was converting. This could be your issue. I suggest getting your doctor to take a look at the freet3 levels. If he won't, then try to find a doctor who will.
Avatar n tn However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
Avatar f tn With the leg problem that you feel like stretching them, it sounds like it could be "restless leg syndrome". This is usually treated with an antidepressant called amitriptyline. With your arms aching too, you may have some form of arthritis. Unfortunately as we get older, us unfortunate ones, start to feel aches and pains. Ask your doctor about the restless leg syndrome. Pain relief and anti-inflammatories may help.
Avatar f tn A few days ago, I began experiencing muscle aches everywhere that I cannot explain through changes in exercise or activity. Is this my body adjusting to the medication and needing more Synthroid? Blood test next Friday for synthroid increase. Prior to beginning my medication, the only hypo symptoms I had included tiredness and horrific periods.
501895 tn?1210201743 I'm afraid to take drugs. I quit Cymbalta because of the waring on the lable. Zoloft is supposed to be o.k.? I have muscle aches and it's probably pyscosymatic. Should I just take milk thistle? Or liv-54? iI take codiene because the pain is unbearable. Today, though, I took four 500mg vicodin, and got no relief. I don't have that much of a resistance, and am careful not to get addicted. Thank you in advance, i really am desperarate.
Avatar m tn I too have the muscle aches, behind my knees and carpal tunnel and finger pain. My dose of synthroid was increased to 88 mcg from 50 beginning Jan., long story short my tsh was 3.57 with dose of 50 mcg is now 1.74 (tested last week) with higher dose. This week I am feeling better, don't want to jinx myself by saying I am feeling better, just trying to enjoy being almost pain free. I started synthroid in July 08, so that is how long to get here.
