I had a mild Traumatic Brain Injury and severe concussion 1 year 8 months ago. Post Concussion Syndrome followed after that and that is what probably your cousin's doctor call it.
I have several symptoms and the worst is dizziness, heavy headed and fatigue. Been to many therapies, meds and no help. Right now I am trying some PT for my neck which seems to be causing my dizziness. I don't know and no one knows including specialists. It is tough to diagnose dizziness.
I suffered a concussion 4 months ago when I fell during a parade with my high school band. My mom took me to the ER and I was diagnosed with a concussion. I had a CT scan and nothing was out of the ordinary, and it seemed to just be a mild concussion.
4 months later, I'm still having issues. I'm a junior in high school and concentration and memory issues made me switch out of all of my honors classes into regular ones and drop both math and science completely.
After a month and a half of these adjustments 3 times a week, we gave up on it and I stuck to medication and physical therapy. I would like to be able to return to school soon being that this time in my life is critical to my future and I'm wondering if my condition is reversable. If the atlas is what was knocked out of place during my concussion, is there a way to make it permanently stay in place?
I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !
I am getting headaches every day at the same time. Could this be from the concussion? Should I have it checked out before I go back to school next week?
I am 18 years old and last fall during Rugby season I had a concussion. I was out of conscious for around 4 minutes. And now yesterday I was snowboarding and fell multiple times on my head while not wearing a helmet. My head imideatly felt pain in the same spot of where I felt the pain during my concussion in rugby. Im not sure if I lost consciousness or not during one of the falls. And now I am starting the wrestling season I dont know if i should take this season off or not?
The impact of the ball caused the concussion, and the shape of his pupil is now oval. I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who did a thorough exam. He said there is no lasting damage other than the shape of the pupil, but he needed glasses. When he "recovered" from the concussion three weeks later, he tried to go back to baseball but could no longer judge the speed and distance of the ball. He had to quit. He has been moody and pesting ever since the concussion.
My 16 yr old daughter got a concussion during lacrosse practice on Wednesday, she is went from being very friendly and loving and happy to extremely Moody and emotional. I know this is normal but is there anything I can do to help her? Lately I find myself having to walk away and take a deep breath and remind myself that this is not her normal behavior and only because of the concussion.

I was just concerned that it might be a slight concussion since he had hit hard the whole night and said that one hit made his head feel like it was vibrating :-) I told him to go to the school nurse if it didn't get better in 30 minutes. I just wasn't sure if I was overreacting or not doing enough.

I woke up at school infirmary and failed the concussion test, couldn’t even distinguish a chair from a table. He most recent one I also lost consciousness, I passed test this time.
As you know, a "Grade 1" concussion is the mildest category. That being said,m there is no such thing as a "harmless concussion", and in the final analysis Lacross is a meaningless activity. Missing a season is not worth a lifetime of problems. I am somewhat concerned he did not have an MRI, and insofar as school authorities are mandated to pick-up-the-bill, this non-invasive test should have been provided.

My 13yo is 1year post concussion still with all the symptoms you described and not in school. AND has a cyst on her pituitary gland. She'll be doing more blood work and seeing a neurosurgeon. Do they think your tumor is related to the concussion? Is there a connection to the symptoms? Just read that the symptoms are similar to those of a concussion. thanks.

I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture.
My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
He got a mild concussion in football and was out of the game for 2 weeks (this really made him nervous as his cousin had a severe concussion with lasting brain damage), soon after he healed from the concussion he got swine flu and was out of school the better part of two weeks, shortly after a return to health he got Mono and strep throat (he wasn't fatigued, but had a severe sore throat, pains,and difficulty swallowing).Now he gets scared at school.

Thanks for reacting! I had an incident in march 2010, a scooter drove in to me and my bike. I slapped hard on the ground and at the hospital I was told I had a heavy concussion. I've laid flat for a week, wasn't allowed to do anything more strenuous but sleeping, eating and sitting. After that week I slowly picked op daily things. I went to school for 2 or 4 hours a day and that was more then enough that week.
I'm 21 and I got a concussion 4 weeks ago. The headaches have gotten much better but I have had days when I can really feel the pressure. My high school friends and I have been planning a trip to a house we rented in the mountains for months now. If I still have occasional lingering headaches can I drink? Will drinking hurt my head further? Please help.
My head hurt right after and I had on and off headaches yesterday. I was also dizzy and felt a little nauseous. Last night and today my neck has been feeling very painful. It hurts in the back and especially in the front by my windpipe and on the sides. Other then the neck pain none of the other symptoms remain. Should I get it checked out? Your nightmares are probably related to your concussion and the sexual attack as psychological trauma are commonly at the bottom of the. Have you considered getting some deep psychotherapy? • I get the headaches when I am with friends, at work or in school. Whenever I have to engage in cognitive tasks and absorb a lot of information. It effects my memory and concentration.
• It all started after I got a concussion almost two years ago around the same time the symptoms started.
• On top of that I have been diagnosed with ADHD and was on the medication Concerta (Ritalin) for the last 2 years of high-school.
• I am 21 male 155 lbs with no other medical conditions.
