ve looked at several medication blog sites and have seen numerous posts of women reporting hair loss from anti-depressants including Wellbutrin so I was really questioning the validity of the "less than 1%" finding from the Wellbutrin trials.

I made an appointment with the doctor within six months because what was happening (except the hair loss) and they performed blood tests along with a urine sample. My results came back normal. Symptoms: - Lack of concentration. - Fatigue. - Hair loss. I have done my research on the internet to no avail. It is beginning to make me frustrated because my grades are struggling. I have child that was also on Concerta 36. There are two types of this medication. Concerta and Concerta CR which is controller release, I believe it was called. She is now 18 and she takes Concerta 72 mg. daily. Because of her ADHD, she has become a compulsive eater and is now very obese. Now that she is 18, she wants to try weight loss pills like Alli and Lipozene. I advised her against it, saying diet and excersise are the best options, but she has a lot of trouble loosing weight, like most of my family. I started taking 18 mg of Concerta once daily about 2 weeks ago. Oddly I have noticed two things: 1) I can no longer have my daily/morning coffee without severe nausea (even the pharmacist didn't have it as one of his warnings). 2) Despite the fact that it keeps me awake to the point that daytime napping is not possible I still feel exhausted most of the time which doesn't make much sense to me. Has anyone had anything like either of these things happen while they were taking it?

My son was on concerta and adderall and they both can cause seizures. I would ask doctor to you for an egg and make sure you are not having seizures.Witch is a side effect to concerta and can not be reversed .They can only give you medicine to try and control the seizures. I wish we had never put my son on these medicines.

My son is 15 years old and for as long as I can remeber he has always been very unhappy & extremely angry. He's been in & out of therapy (counseling) since he was 4 years old. My daughter is 6 years old, on concerta for ADHD and is losing weight. She has been on medications for adhd for over a year now. She was born at 35 weeks by c-section, hospitalized several times before age 2 for respiratory conditions. We called Psych. and Concerta was stopped. However a week later, the tics are still here...not as frequent...

hi, concerta ,and stratara, and all the others my doc put me on didn't come close to adderall. focalin worked to but was costly. adderall leavels your brain, and lets you be yourself. the way your supose to be.

My 9 year old son has been on Concerta for three years and the first year and a half he was very thin. Now he is the right weight for his age and height. He is on 18mg. We tried him on the 27mg but it was too much. He was thin for that period of time, but he has jumped two grade levels ahead of his class in reading and has much better impulse control. He eats a good breakfast and eats like crazy between 5pm and 9pm.

I have an 8 year old son that can not control his bowel movements. He's always soiling in his pants and when I ask him why he says it just comes out. He's been on Concerta for a little over a year now and I'm not sure if this is what's causing the problem. Does anyone have the same problem?

I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.

My 6 year old DD was started on concerta about a month and a half ago. This is the first medication they suggested to us. She seems to be doing really well in school but the side effects at home are becoming hard for us to handle. SHe has become very nonaffectionate, emotional, withdrawn, and seems to be uninterested in life. She also will not eat at all. She is eating maybe one meal a day. I am wondering if we switch medications, will the side effects be the same/as bad?

i think maybe the adderall is responsible for the hair loss and the headaches that i get. please give me some in-put as to what all this means and what specialist i should go to.

I have been taking Concerta for one year. This was to counteract the fatigue and sleepiness that I had been getting from taking Paxil for depression. Though Concertat was initially effective, it gradually became more of a detriment than help. It made me very irritable, unfocused, and moody. I have worked with my doctor to gradually phase concerta out from the 72m I was taking daily.

We tried putting my 9 year old son (who has ADHD) on Concerta about a month ago and after about 4 days, he started frequently rolling his eyes involuntarily up and to the right. We took him off immediately, but the symptoms have persisted. I'm not sure if it was caused by the Concerta, as he'd previously been on it for a month about a year ago and did not display the eye rolling. Does anyone know if there is a correlation, and if this is something that will stop?

I started taking concerta 8 months ago and it has made ia great change in the fear I USED to have speaking in front of people . I till stutter but not near as often when speaking in front of adults .

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

How old is your son? I assume the doc is using the urine test and not the hair test? You could always switch to the patch or change to a med like Focalin XR which could be sprinkled on food.

I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off
